Poseidon©
I just copied and pasted, since the guy said already what I had in mind: Without a doubt, Nazi Zombies is the most celebrated bonus mode in recent years. Treyarch studios did a fantastic job developing a gameplay type which allows gamers of all levels to challenge themselves, and enjoy the company of friends. By resurrecting the never-ending high-score based game, Treyarch brought the old-school crashing into the modern gaming world. Note: For a retrospective look at the first Nazi Zombies map and its successor, check out this post from the archives. So what would happen if Treyarch took the Nazi Zombies concept and produced a full-blown stand alone release? Only good things, i can assure you of that. While no statement has been made to support this theory, a thirsty gamer can dream, right? What elements would this game need to possess in order to be worth paying $60 for? There are some standards which have been set within the industry, and until Nazi Zombies meets those there is no reason to make a full game. However, i believe that Nazi Zombies is well within the realm of a full-out release, and an incredibly diverse and enjoyable one at that. Let’s take a look at what it would need, and how Treyarch would accomplish it. Single Player and its Storyline The first aspect of our Nazi Zombies title is the single player experience. We need to bring an intense, emotional experience to the player. This is where my first bold suggestion will be made, and please don’t stab me in the head for making it. The single player experience should not be based in Nazi WWII. What, you exclaim? But this is nazi zombies! Its needs goose-stepping undead! Relax, it will. Nazi zombies should and will continue to have the Nazi Zombies element, but i think a storyline in that era would be less emotionally driving than one set in the present day. Perhaps two campaigns could be formed, one set in the traditional Nazi Zombies locale and era, and the other set in the modern day. The best part is, this modern day storyline has already been written. And it’s amazing. For those of you who are not zombie enthusiasts, allow me to introduce you to the single most gripping story revolving around zombies ever written. Created by the writer of The Zombie Survival Guide, World War Z is a story of the zombie apocalypse from the perspective of its many victims and survivors. Each chapter is devoted to an individual story, from the Chinese townsfolk where the infection breaks out, to the soldiers, doctors, and artists who became entangled in the unfolding events. Each story is rich with details, told as the survivor explains what happened to reporter Max Brooks (which is also the name of the author). I assure you, the stories are intense and emotionally charged. The book does a brilliant job of depicting a strikingly realistic vision of the zombie apocalypse. Now, if we combine this book with Treyarch, we get a vivid and probably horrifying storyline. Since each chapter of the book is a different situation, every level will be a new experience. One of the stories in the book is about a young female pilot who is forced down over a vast forest in an unsafe zone. She must travel to a highway several kilometers away to rendezvous with a rescue chopper. Yet another story revolves around computer geek in his Japanese apartment realizing that the world outside has gone to total chaos, and he must now descend his high-rise apartment building and find shelter and safety. The book includes massive battles with hundreds of soldiers and millions of zombies, as well as plenty of emotionally charged stories of loved ones lost, and loved ones saved. Tell me you wouldn’t want to play a game that sends you all over the world in frighteningly realistic situations defending yourself and your friends from the zombie hordes. The single player experience, if based on this book or a similar concept, would be long and satisfying. And with each level being its own story, releasing new single player levels via download would be very possible. With single player established, the next obvious subject is…Online and Offline Multiplayer We already know and love the standard defense-style zombie co-op. This element of the game would be very detailed this time around, with a large selection of maps to play. Locations like The Pentagon, Times Square, Alcatraz, and even small suburban neighborhoods would all be fantastic. Of course, the standard Nazi Zombie WWII maps could be a part of that list as well. Going on that note, one could speculate that maps from many eras and locations could be included, and with weapons appropriate for each. Treyarch has already developed a large library of firearms and weapons for its Call of Duty series of games. If we add a selection of random melee weapons, and perhaps some level-specific toys, we have a full library of zombie-slaughtering goodness. But how do we include zombies in the game types we know and love? Once you think about it, the concept is not so far fetched.Deathmatch A deathmatch is pretty straightforward. Everyone kills everyone. I’d like to see this game have at least 32 player multiplayer, which is perfect for this environment. The zombie twist? Slowly, the map would spawn zombies who crawl from the grave or out of the woods, shambling about the level going after the players. The amount of zombies could be determined by the length of time the game runs, or perhaps simply by some value. No points for zombies kills, though. We still need people shooting at people.Team Deathmatch The same as deathmatch, except now we have teams. This would probably end up being especially popular, considering the co-op nature of the original Zombies. Protecting your buddies and taking out the other team would be a lot of fun. Snipers able to reach zombie-safe perches would have a whole new level of stealth, since everyone will be so busy watching out for zombies. Add hell-hounds to replace the dogs from Call of Duty World at War, along with any number of other perks and powerups and the game just gets deeper and deeper. Side Note: The leveling system you used in CoD 4 and 5 would remain pretty much the same, except for some Zombie related extras. Perhaps adding a special melee weapon to your inventory, or deployable barricades. Capture the Flag Who knows what this game type would be called, since developers seem to have started tricking us into thinking that their cleverly named gametype is more than just Capture the Flag with another object replacing the flag. In any case, this game mode would be a whole new event with Zombies. You could of course just have swarms of zombies on the map along with the players, but i think a more interactive approach would be better. Each side should have a distinct type of zombie which inhabits it. When on your side, your zombies will not attack you. However, zombies from the enemy side will. Both sides would spawn their zombie army from the back of their area, and they would then head towards the opposite side of the map hunting for the other team’s players. The zombies first come as a trickle, but with each successive capture, your team increases its zombie output. With 32 players, this would allow you to fall into any role you choose. Are you boarding up the windows to your base and fighting off the enemy zombies, or are you charging into the fray and trying to retrieve the flag? Last Man Standing A better title for this gametype would be Last Man Alive. Imagine a Last Man Standing match with 32 players. Each player has one life, that’s it. Once you’re dead, you’re dead. Well, at least you’d be undead. Each player killed can continue to play, except now they spawn into the map as a zombie. At first, your zombie legs only carry you at a modest jog. With each zombie kill you acquire, you become strengthened and begin to move faster. Death would knock your speed down a notch, but you’d spawn right back in and get to hunting players. Of course, since a zombie has the inhuman ability to find food, the players on the map would glow with heat, showing through walls and obstacles, leading the zombies ever closer. The last man alive would find himself against 31 raging zombies. I imagine these maps would be small and hectic enough to make sure the lone survivor is challenged when defending himself from the 31 zombies. Awesome? Yes, yes it is.Level EditorOf course a level editor. Who wouldn’t want one? The format of the editor would be difficult to decide on. There are two extremes to consider. First, we have the super-detailed Far Cry 2 style editor, complete with a massive toolset and a very high level of control. While this will afford the patient an excellent platform for designing levels, it alienates the casual or less devoted crowd. Probably a better editor would be similar to Tony Hawk’s grid-based system. Give me a huge library of objects and a map to stick them on. You could recreate your own home’s floor plan, or your office’s. Other Random Details * Instead of spectating from a floating camera, spawn in as a zombie and take out the players still in game. * Include a zombie kill stat on the current list of statistics. * Add vehicles and environmental objects unique to each level I’m sure the list of things to do with this concept could go on forever. Treyarch obviously has the knowledge and skill to develop a game of this caliber, and someday perhaps they might. I guess in the meantime we’ll all be stuck playing Dead Rising 2. Thoughts? I would probably go and make a bunch of "professional/hard" levels that are hard as hell, if they included it. (Super Mario Frustration anyone?) Falkon 491
With the PC version of WaW, anything Nazi Zombie related is possible :) (Ever seen an M16 and a Desert Eagle used in World War II?)
Brushfire
I didn't see "Treyarch is awesome", I saw "Nazi Zombies is awesome, and Treyarch could pull this off". I'd love this to happen (complete with lots of new guns and other fancy stuff that gives it a touch of freshness), but I doubt it will.

Lazer Yoshi
I love Nazi Zombies, but it's extremely hard to play on your own. It's like playing Firefight or Horde on your own. It just doesn't work as well.
