ooc: THEChanger returns from his hiatus in the south! All fear the return of Asaren!

Ic: Asaren felt a chill run up his spine. Reaching into his vest, he removed the contract signed by Pemduss. The signature above his own sign was fading. "No, no you fool! Now is not the time!" Asaren cursed. Pemduss's signature faded completely, and the scroll vanished in a puff of smoke. "Of all the blasted luck. Now what?" Asaren thought for a moment, and smiled cunningly. A streak of black can be seen flying through the portal created by Azera, coming from the top of the library. It was time for Asaren to go home.

Pemduss echoed to Asaren in his head, "You need Archangels to help kill Satan." Pemduss continued, "You need the power of light, the power of heaven." Pemduss kept on, "I can't give you any power because it will kill you, make an alliance with heaven, you need all of the angels on Earth." Pemduss said happily, "I'm free, i'm finally free." Pemduss was disappearing from Asaren's mind.

Alestar watched the battle with Kiokama and Azera, his face as calm as ever even though he was now worried when he saw Kiokama being dragged in by the flaming whirlwind forming from Azera's whirling blade. When he saw Kiokama evade being sucked in, he was less worried, yet none of this even registered on his face. He kept the same stoic and emotionless expression. Suddenly, he heard the sound of blades moving through the air and voices. When he turned, he saw Pemduss fighting Satan himself. "What? He actually went after Satan? He'll kill himself." Alestar thought. He was about to head over to help Pemduss when Satan suddenly stabbed him. NO! What is he doing? Alestar stood there, in shock at what had just happened. Alestar then noticed Pemduss's spirit leaving his body and entering heaven. So it was all just to be with his parents. He should have just repented and I could have delivered him to heaven. Alestar then turned back to look at Satan, knowing him to be a powerful enemy. "Kiokama, what do you want me to do about him? Shall we attack him together?" Alestar asked Kiokama.

Azera noticed Kiokama using the same move from the last fight to escape this. "This time, it is different," he said sharply. As Kiokama disappeared inside the flames, Azera spun his blades faster creating a stronger suction that even Kiokama's speed of escape could not escape. The portal was open much larger then before. There was no escape at such close distance. The moment he felt Kiokama enter hell through his portal he stopped spinning his blades. Luckily Asaren had made it through as well before the portal sealed up. "I will return once I have spoken to my brother," Azera stated to the angel standing there. A portal to hell opened under Azera's feet and he sank into it. It instantly closed as he finished going through it. His brother would have been sent to the outer gates of hell and Azera stepped out of a portal next to him. "Brother I believe we need to have a talk where even our father can't hear us. Let us go and discuss this matter at hand," he said. Azera opened the gates to hell and began walking to his domain. "Follow brother, I have set up a place where he cannot hear us discuss," he said. All around him, souls could seen working in the pits and the flames.

As his brother appeared beside him, Kiokama remained oddly calm. One might believe that he had expected such a turn of events and now he returned his weapon to it's place upon his back. He slowly followed his brother, looking around at the Hellscape in disgust.

"You had best have a good reason for this, brother. If this ends in a trap I'm not sure how well I can contain myself."

Despite these words, Kiokama was confident enough that he could trust his ever-scheming brother for now. He was almost certain that the two would face each other again in combat before the month was out, but he got the feeling his brother's ambitions were exclusively set in Hell. Though he yearned to once more break free from the pit, he knew that if either of them were to end their father once and for all that it would likely involve them both. He covered his left eye with the corresponding hand as a slight hint of red came into his gaze. Even as an archangel, he was still a prince of hell, and was a tad vulnerable to the corruption of the abyss. He tightly folded his wings upon his back and concentrated, fighting back the corruption. In this place, he would have to keep every single form of guard he possessed up.

"Mind if I ask why we have to be in Hell? I can think of many places where our father's senses fail."

"There is no need to worry brother," Azera began, "This is only so we can dicuss several issues at hand." He walked into his sufficiently large home and into a rather large chamber. "The reason it is in Hell, is because our father overlooks his gaze here. At least in my domain he doesn't see anything, especially this room. I forged this room out of my dragonic scales. Its practically impossible for him to see or hear anything in here. Even now, he doesn't know your in here." Azera stated. Then he sat down and awaited his brother to seat. The doors would close behind Kiokama as he would enter the room. "We need to talk about how to finally kill off our father. The day you left was the day he began recruiting special soldiers to take over Heaven. He has been planning this even before you left, but you leaving was the sign he was waiting for. Luckily however I have secretly killed most of them with some help. Once they are fully killed off, we must kill him. Once he is dead, I want control over Hell as I'm sure you guessed. When I become in charge, the order will be restored and the world will return into its normal self. Until this happens however, the world will stay its present course." Azera explained.

Kiokama calmly seated himself opposite from his brother, a slight smile upon his face as he thought of this new plot their father had hatched up.

"He just isn't going to give up is he? Regardless it is very disturbing to hear that he's been developing anything that could survive in heaven, and if there are any number of them left then you're certainly right. We'll have to find every last one of them and annihilate them." Kiokama said this with perfect calmness, as though it was just another sort of every-day battle that he would have gotten involved in anyways, even without his brother's interference.

A flapping of wings could be heard above the two brothers. Looking up in surprise, they see a raven, black as night, circling above them. It must have flown in a window. Yes, that must be it . . .

Or not. The raven laughs with rackous cawing, and begins to speak. "Oh dear, oh dear. Two more conspirators in a single day. Won't daddy be disappointed in his sons. Of course, it is to be expected from the little traitor brat, but you Azera! I'm most disappointed in you!"

The raven lands on the floor between the two, and slowly begins to change. Standing before them now is Asaren, leaning on his black cane.

"Tsk, tsk. You should know by now, Azera, nowhere is safe. Atleast, not from prying ears. Though, I do recomend you. This is quite the citadel. I would have had much trouble sneaking in, had you not opened the door for me."

Creating a small chair from the ample shadows around his, Asaren smiles a wicked grin. "But, I suposse there is no need for daddy to know that his favorite is planning to overthrow him. Atleast, not yet. And he might never find out. That is, if you'll do something for me."

Reaching into his vest, Asaren removes a very old scroll. The partchment is starting to rot, and it emenates a feeling of pure evil. "You recognize this, don't you Azera? This is your daddy's old contract. Without this, you will never get what you want. It's the master contract, you see. The one that gives daddy dominion over all the souls in Hell. Now, I don't want much for switching the name here. Just the fufillment of the contract, as it were. All you need to do right now is sign it."

Unrolling the scroll, Asaren sets it on the ground. At the bottom were two signs. One was a great, red dragon, in all likelyhood Satan's symbol. The other was the familiar snake bitting it's own tail. Oddly, a green tint could be seen at the edge of the dragon, slowly fading it's brilliant red color.

  • 2 weeks later...

Kiokama calmly turned his eyes to look Asaren, not showing any emotion and feeling about as much as he was showing. While he had hated Asaren even when he was a Demon, he had since grown beyond such things as hatred, with only one exception. He turned his eyes from Asaren, to the contract, and then back to Asaren. When he spoke, though his voice was calm, it contained an under-current of such vehemence that there could be no doubt in the mind of anyone listening that he meant what he said.

"You would be very wise to give me a good reason not to just burn your contract and run you through here and now, Asaren. The way I see it, without the contract our father has no power, and could simply be crushed by any one of us."

He slowly closed his eyes, waiting in silence and calm to hear his brother's response to Asaren's offer and possibly Asaren's response to him. While he didn't like the idea hell even existing in the aftermath of this war, he understood the importance of there being a choice between good and evil. And honestly, he couldn't think of anyone more cut out for the job of ruling such a place than his Brother. If only because he knew how well loved Azera had always been by the Demons.

"And, if memory serves, the destruction of the contract renders it Null and Void. However, a new thought comes to mind...Why don't you just take our father's power for yourself? It certainly seems that you have the power to."

These last few sentences Kiokama said in an almost taunting tone. While he didn't hate Asaren, he had a special place in the slight remaining amount of darkness in his heart for him. The story of his father's deception had infuriated him ever since he was a child, and if there was one thing that still filled him with an almost demonic anger, it was liars. He was holding himself under control for the time being, only because he knew just how much of an asset that Asaren was for the time being...however, once he had out-lived his usefulness...that was another thing.

Asaren shot a withering glare at Kiokama. "Hpmh. Traitorous brat. Believe me, if I could take the power over the damned, I would. The problem is it can only be handed over willingly. Which, I hope dearly Azera would be smart enough to do. As to the destruction of the contract, I have a back-up system." Slowly, Asaren lifts up his shirt. There, inscribed on his chest, was the same contract, with the same two seals. "While this particular copy of the contract does not hold the power, in the event of the destruction of the original, it will pass through a series of identical contracts. In the event that all of those should be destroyed - and believe me, that would take centuries, the power which resides in the contract would be transfered to my body. So, no." A quick smile crosses Asaren's face. "Of course, even if you managed to destroy the contract, your father would still possess the power over the souls of the Damned, and there would be no way to get rid of it. Definately not in your best interests. So . . . STAY OUT OF THIS!" With that final remark, shadows flared up around Asaren, forming twisting shapes and creatures out of nightmares. "NOW! AZERA! PUT YOUR SEAL DOWN! LET ME GVE YOU YOUR FATHER'S STRENGTH! LET ME GIVE YOU THE THRONE OF HELL! THE TIME HAS COME FOR THE OLD ORDER TO BE CAST ASIDE!" Asaren, reaching into the twisting mass of shadows, produces what appears to be a small stylus of solid shadow. Its tip gleams a dark red, as though bloody. He holds it out to Azera, obviously urging him to sign with it.

"Ah Asaren. The third key to my plot. You obviously haven't been to my home in such a long time that your forget that I plan many things here. Oh that contract, haven't seen that thing in a long time," Azera stated. He listened to his brothers reply to Asaren and nodded his head in agreement. "Yes brother, you seem to know parts of my plan without realizing it. Asaren, I want you to attack and try to kill our father. While he is engaged in your battle, you have to at least injure him. Even the smallest of cuts will do. After that me and my brother will finish him off. Then I will take full control as I am next in line. You can accompany me as my second in command. Oh and just know, even if Father does find out about this. He cannot harm me inside my home for the scales are what keeps everything I do safe. So even if he finds out, all I have to do is stay here, build up my strength even more and then take an army through hell because all the demons that my father hasn't changed are loyal to me. So this is your chance to move up in the ranks. A wise choice in deed," Azera said. He knew that Asaren could not simply kill Satan without help and so this would be the chance that he would need to take if he ever wnated to get anywhere in Hell. Azera gave a smirk as his plans were coming closer to the goal.

"Azera, I would gladly aid you in destroying your father, but until you sign the contract, I can do nothing." The shadows surrounding Asaren die down, and he resumes his seat in the shadowy chair. "You see, as one of the damned souls, I can do no physical harm to the Lord of Hell. Plot against him, yes. Actually hurt, no. That is what proved my undoing the last time I rebeled. A minor miscalculation, but one that will not be in my way this time. Once you sign the contract, you become the ruler. The power accompanying this position shall flow, abeit slowly, to you from your father. And I will be able to strike him down. With the help of his precious sons, of course." Asaren's face at this point has become blank, showing no emotion. This has become strictly a business deal. "So. Sign. Or I can not help you."

Alestar watched the battle between Azera and Kiokama, when suddenly he saw Kiokama pulled into the vortex that Azera had formed. "Kiokama!" Alestar yelled out, unsure of what just happened. He was about to lunge himself at Azera when he saw him sink into a portal to Hell. "Darn. He went back to Hell and took Kiokama with him." Alestar muttered. "I will have to find another way in." he added as he began walking away from the area. He then stopped when he reached the outskirts of the small area and looked up at the sky. His body glowed yellow and he was then gone in a flahs of light. He later reappeared within heaven, flying through the clouds to reach that portal. The only portal he knew of that could take him straight to Hell.

Kiokama was rapidly growing tired of Asaren though he did still understand the importance of the deceiver for now. He turned his eyes back to his brother, and then once more to Asaren. His mouth suddenly curled up into a wide smile, one that his brother would no doubt recognize from when they were children. This smile always came to his face when he was developing some sort of scheme of his own. He opened his bright silver eyes and turned his gaze to Asaren, speaking in his own level tone which to some might even seem friendly.

"You know, Asaren, there are other ways to bring you out of my father's control. For example, and this would only work if you decided in whatever is left of your heart that you wanted this, you could be redeemed. Think about it Asaren you could come back to Heaven, do the very thing that Satan himself is incapable of doing. You could return to paradise...though since it was you who originally wrought all damnation...I doubt that you would accept this, but one can hope."

With that, Kiokama calmly reclined back in his chair, the same smile on his face. He waited to see what his brother would do, but in his mind he was working over every option available to them and had come up with two possibilities. If Azera signs the contract, then he becomes the most powerful being in all of hell, the greatest of the damned...and then there's no way to save him. If he doesn't, then perhaps he could still be redeemed, but could the both of us together still bring father down as he is? Then...there is always a third option...

Azera looked at Asaren with the most serious of faces that he usually pulls out when something as important as this comes about. "And what is in it for you Asaren, if I were to sign. I mean obviously there has to be some reason because you remember how father deals with people who rat on others. So obviously telling him is out of the question. But if I were to sign, what would be in it for you?" he asked Asaren. Then he heard his brother talk and smiled with his own smile. 'This shall be interesting,' Azera thought to himself. He wanted to know just what Asaren was up to.

What could he have taken Kiokama to Hell for? What could he possibly do with or want from him there? Alestar continued flying through the clouds until finally, he reached what he was looking for. He landed and then looked around. He was now standing in front of a large, grand doorway. The doorway had intricate symbols sketched across it and was a dull golden hue. "The only other gate to Hell." Alestar muttered to himself. He reached his hand up and touched the door, creating a massive burst of light which swallowed him. The light faded, and the doors opened, bringing with them a massive surge of despair and other negative feelings, an evil aura, and most of all, a powerful wave of heat which Alestar had never felt before. Alestar cringed at the power of the heat, but nonetheless continued on, heading straight through the doors. He had to rescue Kiokama, if it was rescuing that he needed. He stepped through and began his journey into Hell. As the door closed, and he stepped out onto the other side into Hell, he looked around. "Sure is a big place, and this heat is unbearable. Nonetheless, I have a mission to do." he thought to himself and began walking forward into the depths of Hell.

"Azera, what's in it for me is quite simple. While I realize you are a demon through and through, I know two things about you: One, that you only truely seek the throne of Hell. You wish to rule the demons. The damned human souls you could care less about. Two, you, for all your demonic heritage, have more honor than your father. I trust you will fufill the contract where your father has not." Asaren's face is still blank as he speaks. All emotion seems to have been drained out of him. None of the guile present when decieving humans, the greed for souls, nor even the hatred of Satan who betrayed him is present. He has sealed off all his emotion. Whether this is because his focus is elsewhere, something is troubleing him, or another reason altogether is unclear. "As to your proposal of redemption, Kiokama, what you fail to realize is that good and evil do not exist. They are, at best, names for sides. God is just as much a tyrant as your father. In some ways, He is worse. You can't have fun working for Him. Which is why I organized the first Rebellion in the first place. Think about it. If there weren't some merit to my logic, then why would He have lost over half His angels to the Rebellion?" A small smile crosses Asaren's face, but quickly vanishes. Even the smile appeared forced. Asaren is obviously controlling his emotions to a very high degree.

OOC: Notice, A new faction has been added! Want a character who's for neither Heaven or Hell? Well then, the Unaligned faction is for you! Feel free to make an additional character for the new faction if you like. Also, apps. need no longer be sent in PM so just post them in the thread.

Also, only a third of the angels fell with Lucifer.

IC: Kiokama was now actually having difficulty keeping calm, but he simply took what Asaren said without response. He simply closed his eyes again and now the smile vanished from his face. His wings twitched slightly as he calmed himself. He didn't like the effect this little trip back to the realm of his childhood was having on him. He opened his silver eyes again, his face now devoid of emotion just as Asaren's was and his body language revealing nothing. He looked from the contract, to Asaren, to his brother, and back again. While his mind was busy with thoughts, his expressions never showed any of it.

"That isn't what my brother was asking, Asaren. He was asking how you are benefited from the fulfillment of the contract. In other words, 'I know your end of the bargain, but what's mine?' is what he's asking."

Alestar walked further into Hell and stared around at the damned souls around him. He shook his head in pity and continued walking. Alestar soon stopped walking and began to feel light headed. He closed his eyes and then reopened them, trying to gather himself together. "This place. It truly is the worst place to be. How did 'He' ever survive in a place like this after his damnation? How do these demons even survive here?" Alestar thought to himself. He once again began to walk further, not knowing exactly where he was going. I must find Kiokama. I know that he can take care of himself, but this place has a horrible effect on Angels. I just hope that he is doing better here than I am. As Alestar stepped forward, the ground under him suddenly collapsed. As he began falling, his wings sprouted from his back and then began flapping to pull him up into the air. He looked down from his position within the air and saw more damned souls with their hands outstretched towards him. If he had fallen into their grasp, he would have been quickly devoured and swallowed by the mass of them. Alestar shook the image off and continued, now flying through the air to avoid falling into the depths of Hell. Where could he be? Suddenly, a burst of fire was shot at Alestar from his right side. He barely saw the glint of light from it in time as he rolled in mid air to avoid it. As his roll completed, he looked to see a demon flying straight up at him. "Just the person I was looking for." Alestar said as he tucked his wings in and dove down towards the demon. As he neared it, his body seemed to glow with the brightest light ever. The demon was taken aback by this and stumbled backwards in the air. Alestar was then at his side and grabbed his head before looking into his eyes. Light flashed from Alestar's eyes and entered into the demon's. "Report to my son that I have arrived and that I would like to arrange a meeting with him." Alestar said as he let the demon go. He suddenly felt weak again after he had used the slight illusion on the demon. He had made himself appear to be Lucifer to the demon, but it seemed that this had taken it's toll on his body. But how is this possible? An illusion of that caliber should be nothing to me. Is it this accursed place? Alestar shook his head to clear his mind and then flew after the demon, who was now leading him towards the Demon Prince Azera's chambers.

((I was really bored having nothing to do, so is it okay that I do this?))

"His end of the bargain? Then you two really don't know what the contract entails?" A small shadow of surprise enters Aseran's face. "Daddy really has kept you two in the dark, hasn't he? Well, simply put, the contract gives the signer full dominion over the souls of the damned, and rule over the demons of Hell, for a grand total of 13 years. Once this time has passed, power over the souls of the human damned is willingly given up to me, and the signer retains rule over the demons of Hell. With this in place, even if somehow one of the two were to fall without an heir, the other would have the power to reinstate a ruler in the fallen's place, insuring that Hell never went leaderless. That was the reasoning I gave your father, at any rate. He, unfortunately, was not convinced by my arguement, and refused to give up the power at the appointed time. Had he, we would not be here. Or at least, I wouldn't, so his decision has perhaps proven most profitable for you two." Aseran stands up from his chair, and looks out one of the windows of Azera's palace. Gazing down at the damned souls flying through the air, he smiles breifly. "So much untapped potential down there. Your father never realized the immense power he was sitting on. He mearly believed in collecting the souls to spite God. But I see the bigger picture. So much power down there . . . Oh dear, did I say that out loud? Forgive me. I think out loud sometimes. Wretched habit. Simply must work on getting rid of it one of these days." Aseran continues pacing around the large hall. Something is agitating him, but he can't put his finger on it. Not the closeness of Kiokama. He could ignore that. A small prickling at the back of his spine. Something not quite right with the air in here. . .

"See that is where you are wrong Asaren. I do care for the souls that reside here as well as the demons," Azera stated clearly before looking at his brother, "That was not my question brother. My question was, what does he get out of me taking the power from our father." As Asaren stood up, Azera did as well. "If you think you'll receive power from my rule after our father is defeated then you are wrong Asaren. What you don't realize is that me and my brother can harm him if we chose to, but in order to defeat him we need a third person to injure him. You can still take my earlier proposal of being second in command once he is defeated," Azera stated sharply, "If you do not however agree to my terms, then more problems will arise."

Aseran quietly sighs. Just as foolish as his father. "The fact of the matter is, until you sign the contract, I can't even do that. The contract itself prevents me from harming Satan. Whether you fufil the contract later is imatierial. As you can see, the damned thing has not forced your father to give the power over to me. What you do later is entirely up to you. But, if you want or need my help, it must be signed. Otherwise, I'm powerless to help you." A small, sad smile creeps across Aseran's face. "But, if you can't do that, I understand. It is, of course, only natural for you to be suspicious of the thing. That's the nature of a contract. So, I suposse I'll just be on my way back to my nice little cave on Earth . . ." Aseran walks towards the door. "I do hope it won't be too hard to get out of here." He thinks. "You never know when or where the portals out of this place will pop up. And I can't exactly use the portal to Heaven. I'd get slaughtered on the spot."

Azera slams his fist on the large table they were sitting at. "You still haven't answered my question Asaren," he yelled out before saying, "There is also no way to use a portal inside my home as that is why you have to enter and exit through the door. So until you answer my question, you cannot leave." With that said clear as day, he sat back down and calmed himself down. "Now if you will please state your answer then it is possible that I might sign this contract, but your answer will tell me whether I should or not," he said in a serious tone. A small wave of heat could be seen coming off Azera's armor from the small flames that suddenly began to rise off of it. If one looked closely into Azera's eyes, flames could be seen flickering. He was obviously getting ready for something, but only he knew what would happen when it needed to happen.

Kiria watched as they all bickered at the table and walked out of the shadows hiding him in the corner and into sight. He had golden blond hair, blood red pupils, and wore a pitch-black suit, but no tie, and his hands were in his pockets. He stopped at the very edge of the table, "Can you stop bickering please, it's very uninteresting, and it's boring me... Now let's decide how to cause some chaos above on earth... now that's an interesting topic."

OOC: Genesis, you can't simply enter my home without either 1) sneaking in, which only THEChanger did, 2) walking in with me which only Ketodama did or 3) getting my permission which noone has. So next time watch it. I'll let it go for now because it'll get things moving again.

IC: Azera looked over at the man who had shown himself. "I don't know how you got into my home, but you are leaving right now," he said coldly. Azera stood up and walked over to the man then picked him by the shirt collar before walking into his large hallway. "You can wait here until we are finished with our discussion. The I will deal with you personally," Azera stated. He placed the man down and closed the large doors behind him as he walked back inside. "Now Asaren, answer the question," he said as he walked back to his chair and sat down. He wanted an answer and he wanted it now.
