The holocaust made absolutely no sense...

 

This post struck me as odd, as it said that the Holocaust didn't make any sense.

 

The Holocaust, in my opinion, made perfect sense.

 

The Germans, after World War I, were facing an economic depression, so they were ready to rally under any leader who showed promise. A man stepped forward from the recently formed National Socialist German Workers' Party who was named Adolf Hitler.

 

He was an above average speaker for the time, and very charismatic. He provided hope for the Germans, saying that he would be able to, if elected, bring the country back to its former glory. They believed him and he was appointed chancellor, but power is something he desired for reasons not shown to the public.

 

He started the largest genocide in history at the time, herding Jews to concentration camps and ghettos with poor conditions, wanting to purify the Aryan race. This occurred between 1933 and 1945.

My family was lucky and we got out OK. Also, my great great (great?) grandfather helped get Jews out of Poland, if I remember correctly. Thanks for setting up this thread, I just learned a bit more.

Also, you haven't explained why the holocaust made sense at all. You pretty much just said "It happened" and assumed that that would suffice as an explanation.

If you couldn't figure out that it was Stalin, you don't deserve to be discussing history.

It makes perfect sense. In hard times people believe almost anything.

Like Crab said, it was to the point where he didn't want to win the war, he was just blaming the Jews just to blame them and destroy the whole religion.

I think he wanted to destroy the race too. He also hated blacks, gays, and those with disabilities.

Jesus was a jew but he made Christanity,

But jews were part of the wars, Pols were awsome, i respect them because my best friend is a jewish Pol

Hitler was Austrian. So what? Even if it made sense all those deaths is and was still sad. If it's not to you, then kindly shut up and turn cheek.
