What georgey said ... but in a less rude fashion.

Gaara and mastersep clearly lack sufficient experience in this game to be judging decks, if the notion that you need to have a similar spell/trap and monster count is a rule of thumb for them. While its a suggestion for beginners/noobs making aggro type decks that win through combat, such as beatdown decks, monarch decks and what not, It is not the same for a variety of combo decks, burn decks, control decks etc. Even for the aggressive/control variations, exceptions exist. Big City and Pot-Merchant Turbo decks for instance are competitively viable tier 1.5 decks that run respectively a lower and higher monster count (11-15 for city and 24-27 for MPT). I'll give you an example. This sunday I'm playing in the Pharaoh Tour Finals here. For the main competition I'm taking a more standard deck, six samurai, which weighs in at 41 cards with 20 monsters, 14 spells and 7 traps. It doesn't get much more average than that. Half monsters, 2/6 spells and 1/6 traps. For the side events i'm bringing three decks :

2 turn Demise OTK : 26 monsters, 14 spells, 0 traps

Clockdown : 5 monsters, 18 spells, 17 traps

DDT (not unlike this one) : 10 monsters, 29 spells, 1 trap

That's how those decks are run. And I'm going to do you one more. I'd gladly take any one those decks (your choice) against either of you two noobs and demonstrate how powerful these decks are. YYVD or Gameking. Your choice. Shoot me a PM. I can use the practice. I'll even let you netdeck a top build and build a side against the deck.

So next time, think long and hard before you call someone a noob, especially if you don't have enough experience to be judging ...

I have enough experience' date=' thank you Belgian Blue (btw do you come from Belgium?). It is only my opinion that this deck wouldn't satisfy me. But okey, everybody has his tastes.

[/quote']

Its certainly not everybody's taste. It requires thinking on your feet, and is extremely combo oriented. Its easily stopped, but because it generally wins on turn 2 or 3 that is rather irrelevant. Its just so fast and deadly it generally doesn't matter that it has no defenses. The Card Trooper is a bit misplaced in this build, and running more than 40 cards for this really isn't too wise with DDT, but other than that it stays quite true to the original Which won Frontier Cup 71 (not 21). Its a return to the old diamond blade decks.

And yes, I do come from Belgium. The nickname refers to many things. Belgian Blue is a breed of cows with a genetic defect in the myostatin gene, which makes them extra muscular. Since I'm a biotechnologist by trade and a respected trainer of international bodybuilding athletes, and hail from belgium, it seemed like an apt moniker.

Whoah' date=' that last was difficult to follow, but okey, I live almost in Belgium. You know Nijmegen in Holland? That`s where I live.

On-topic: Anyway, I overlooked the deck again and I now know what you mean Belgian Blue. I tried out, it indeed works. It is incredibly fast, a turn 2/3 win.

of course I know it. Maybe I'll see you in Maaseik at the PT final on Sunday then ? You can't miss me, pretty sure I'll be the only one standing 6'2 and 225 lbs ripped :p

I have only one question.

WHERE DID DISCY GO?

Disc Commander was dropped since we can now run 3 D-Draw and 3 Trade In which can all be used with Destiny Hero Plasma. You can only run one Disc Commander.

Sorry to tell you' date=' this deck needs SERIOUS work.

[/quote']

Well if you really think it needs some serious work, how about you give it an overhaul and me and my buddy Blue will let you know what we think.

I take it you have no clue how the deck works........ This is similar to one of the decks that top eighted Shonen Jump' date=' and it won Frontier 21 and top eighted Frontier 22. Do you guys even play competitively?

This deck is one of the fastest albiet unstable OTK decks around.

[/quote']

i just got back from my life im sorry i do play but i dont WATCH other peoples games religiously and georgeyboy654 im sorry i dont see how this deck works i dont see a otk and you shouldn't curse just because i think a deck should have traps or at least 1 trap.

Hmm, so this is what a DDT deck looks like. I tried to build one in yugioh spirit caller a while back. It was... ok... I think I had to many traps and monsters and not enough spells (or the right kind lol. I put spells in it like Des Croaking, etc.) It seems interesting and I wouldn't mind dueling against one one of these days.

Give it a whack, big shot. I'm at home watching the baby today, so I've got a lot of energy left to correct you ;)

@Static : the deck has to OTK. It'll bring back a monster two or three times a game from the grave, but since it already draws like crazy off of card D, Trade in, Draw and what not, its fairly pointless to use disc commander. At the same time, if you are setting up for a turn 2 or 3 OTK, it really bites to Monster gate a Diamond Dude or Stratos into a Disc Commander. DDT decks use gate and reasoning to fill the graveyard, then play it from there with Divine sword and DMOC. Disc Commander is probably the worst card for this build of DDT.

@zelda: There is more than one way to build DDT, but in general it'll always have a heap of normal spells, 2 or 3 diamond dudes, a DMOC. And off those normal spells it will always include 3 copies of Monster gate, destiny draw and trade in, 2-3 copies of reasoning, Vortex and Divine Sword, and of course storm trunade, MSE, D-fusion and premature burial. This build is the new Diamond Blade deck that is sweeping the Japanese meta by storm. Its generally less stable than TCG variants, but its more powerful and a lot faster.

@Orochi : Ojama and croaking are powerful cards, but you don't play them in a deck like this because they are too conditional. If you happen to draw them, and with triple draw, triple trade etc you WILL draw them, they are dead weight in your hand and the best you can hope for is that they will serve as discard fodder for cards like MSE, feather or vortex. Running cards like that is entirely too risky.

that's why this deck has must have 3 magical mallet... and vortex trooper will be an addition to this deck...

DDT deck can even be made only with 7 monsters... sangan' date=' 3 diamond dude and 3 mystic tomato...

your deck needs des croaking and ojama delta hurricane... also i would take out the plasmas, you won't be able to summon them...

[/quote']

I hate to break it to you but why would I need Sangan or Mystic Tomato in this deck? I have plenty of ways to get monsters onto the field, and Plasma isn't only in there for summoning, he gets dumped into the Grave for Trade in and D-Draw and then removed for Phoenix Blade.

Also I have to agree with Blue why would I use a card that could end up becoming dead cards like Croaking or Hurricane? Like you said it would force me to run Mallet which isn't something that really is neccessary in this deck. Most of the time the cards I wind up with in hand I can use and I don't want to have to keep trading cards back to the deck where I can possibly draw them again as dead cards.

Yes, that's always the solution to inconsistency : Add more -1 cards ...

So far I've only found one deck mallet actually works in, and that's 2-turn demise.
