✣Rise of the Dragelions✣ (WARNING LONG)

DARKPLANT RISING

Recommended Posts

BEFORE READING, PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THIS IS A CLIP OF A LONG, LONG STORY. IT IS THE BEGENNING OF THE 8TH BOOK OUT OF 14 I AM PLANNING TO WRITE.

The Chronicles Of Kenta is a long, long story I have been working on for 4.5 years (over revision, it's changed a lot now, and the main storyline was created 2 years ago... making it impossible to think of the first and the brand-new version as the same story.)

I started it in 2nd grade-now I'm 6th.

Anyways, I write small action clips of it, then fill in the blanks. The fact that this story is not the start of book 1 makes it difficult to look at what it's really like. But anyways, please take a look at this clip.

[spoiler=Story Till Then]

A gigantic meteor crashed into Earth, making most life forms on life extinct or mutated into weird forms. 1000 years later, 3 countries are there, the Republic, the Empire, and the Commonwealth. The main character Kenta (a kid) lives in the Capital City Metro located in the Republic. The 3 Emperors of the Empire, the Tri Lords Of Darkness, Das Pleto, Dominus Domno, and Inferus Nex are trying to invade and take over the Republic. After several plot turns, Kenta becomes the first Kid King of the Republic, driving the lords away. The Metro, destroyed by Das Pleto, who had forced himself as new king, was moved from the West Coast to the East Coast of the Republic's land. The friends of Kenta become other ministers. However, the lords still come back and back. Finally they summon a powerful monster "Ragnarox" to take over. But Kenta kills it and the 3 lords. Then Inferus Nex becomes the lich (Inferus Dexignarz) and battles Kenta. Kenta wins and saves the day.

Just looking at the storyline till now it's boring, right? Because it's made extremely short.

Anyways, this is my new part.

[spoiler=New Part-Dragelion Encounter-]

That day, I was walking down the streets of Metro to buy a politic book for my lessons. I still hadn’t memorized all the financing and economy thingy majigies a normal king would need, so I had decided-no, had been ordered-to buy a guidebook that the *king before the Dark Lord Das Pleto had published.

“Yu ar’ ze’ king, ma’ lor’,” the Judicial Prime Minister had told me the other day. “Yu seriousli’ need politics, sa’. Ze’ whol’ lan’ depends on it.” I know, I know. He speaks like he’s one of *Bryce’s old broken prototype robots, except with a nervous breakdown (which robots don’t normally have). That’s because he’s an unbelievable hundred years old and his mouth is a fire-storm of clackers snapping like Megalodon. *Believe me, I tell from experience. But he’s supposed to have all of these confusing Politics Awards and horrifying Finance Premiums, which has to mean something at least. And he’s also been a minister from far before the *Dark Age, and his reputation from the crowd is “genius”, so I guessed that I should listen to his advice. It’s sort of ironic that the people made this kid the king when there’s a minister who knows every single politic-related subject out there.

Maybe it was because he was too old to become king-he looks like he’ll fall down any second, and his stick isn’t for bashing people. Through he’s terrible to me in a way; he’s still a nice person. Only if he wasn’t so absorbed in studying…

Anyways, he had booked up some of those several-thousand-page never-ending books filled with meaningless, deadly words and phrases that were beyond the pale of the wits of a 12-year old boy. The subscription was sent to the Republic Library with the name of “Kenta the King”. He had told me to go, which I had reluctantly agreed to. Besides, I never had been really working on real politics-solving problems only with the *Empire Invasion, with the occasional adventure. No wonder my public rating fell down at around the *Ragnarox War. After all, I had been thinking I had to do something with making it go up. Even though winning against the Lich had gladly improved my ratings, I was still concerned as it was still about 60, which was still better than most kings, but still worse than the previous-previous king.

The Republic Library was one of the oldest monuments in all of Metro, since now was only a year after we changed the Capital, and before that not much people were here. It was constructed to be made bigger at the same time as the Capital Change. The now largest library in the entire Republic was a blackened, brick building about 10 stories high, longer to the left and right than to up so that it looked like one of those Ministry Houses built so they looked like the monument from before the Impact, the White House. Normally I used this place to get all those entertaining adventure books and novels that I loved from my true heart. Or the petrifying Royal Chamberlain will perhaps assign me a deluxe palace-full set of studying to do, I will carry the million-ton load to here, and be overwhelmed by the eternal spiral of politics and finances and death and doom. One of my worst nightmares ever. In a way, the Chamberlain was much of an evil mastermind as Inferus Dexignarz. And his power easily goes over even Ragnarox.

“Please give me this ‘The King’s Official Guidebook to Government Politics and Finance’,” I sighed darkly to the counter, who

was a old man with a crooked nose, a wrinkled-apple-like-face, and deep glasses that made me flashback a horrible, terrifying vision of *Mr. Capitis teaching his eternal history classes of despair. The man, who seemed surprised at the guest, croaked “Wai’ a momen’, sa’…” like that Dark Minister, and with bony fingers dumped a book onto the counter. It was literally 1 foot tall, and as I imagined at least 2000 pages long. The yellowing pages seemed like the teeth of a hag. The nightmarish blackened cover didn’t cheer me up either. I groaned in misery and anguish.

My heart still feeling as heavy as through the Chamberlain had captured me stealing the sugar cookies at the Royal Kitchen, I felt it was a miracle I was able to survive the encounter with the book which now seemed just as scary as the Death Note. I, barely alive, stumbled out of the gate of the library that seemed just as evil as the *Dark Lord Fortress and deeply sighed. I couldn’t imagine what a horrible day today will be. Homework? Study? As far as I knew, the Chamberlain wouldn’t let go of me now that he knows I’ve got something connected to… oh, please, don’t say that dreaded P-word.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! My heart roared.

That was when something just as horrifying as this book happened.

“Kshaaaahh!!”

Suddenly, a short shriek came up, piercing my ears and ringing into my brain. It sounded shrill and tall-definitely inhuman. But it wasn’t a dragon either-it was more high-pitched then its thick roars. What is it-?

But the question was swept away from my mind just as it was born, and was replaced with anger. This was my new home town. My own country’s capital. And I wasn’t going to let any creature slip inside. Especially something with a screech that sounds just as-menacing as this. That "Kshaaaahh" was definitely one of a deadly beast. I simply-knew it.

I dashed through the roads as some children waved their hands at me and shopkeepers roared, “THERE’S THE KING!!” I waved hands back at them barely, but didn’t have time to wave to all. The basket with the heavy book inside swung like an executioner’s axe. And when I turned over the corner, I screamed.

There was a creature there like nothing I had ever seen, something I had never even heard of. On first look it’s a mutated hybrid dragon. But this one looked nothing like the *Destructive Wyrm Chicken or *Hornet Wyvern. This one looked like a hybrid of dragon-and-well…some sort of…crustacean.

The monster was about 2 meters tall. Its whole body was covered in a thick hide of crablike, blood-colored armor, spiny as needles. It had 8 legs so that it stood straight up like a dinosaur-not the same sort of short legs like a crab’s. It had no arms, just 5 heads-gigantic oversized heads bigger then water melons, each of them like dragons’. Its thin, golden eyes were brimming with hatred and malice. Each gaping jaw opened and shut like a deathly trap. And inside lined dozens of sharp, ghostly white teeth gleaming in the beaming sun.

“Kshaaaahh!!” the behemoth’s mouth foamed as it struck down with amazing agility and speed that didn’t match its bulky body. My instinct made me jump back, and the hungry heads jutted out just at the place I was standing, missing my nose by inches. By now the people around me seemed to have realized, and terrified, they scrambled away like a mouse’s family, screaming and on all fours.

“Kshaaaahh!!” the dragon-crab screeched again, and this time lunged out further. I quickly shot back into a mound of cardboard boxes stacked up near a store, which dilapidated down as both I and the monster crashed in.

I was controlled by sudden fear, and desperately clawed through the mound of boxes that seemed to be further than expected-at least 10 meters deep. The creature shrieked and pushed through the mountain, its heads just behind my back. I just then realized the *Ragnaroxian was on my belt, and that second I grabbed its hilt and snatched it out of the cap.

The tunnel of cardboard came to an abrupt end as I suddenly crashed onto hard asphalt ground-the chase stopped. I groaned as I realized my glasses had broken. The beast jumped out, its jaws drooling with blue saliva, and its massive heads came plummeting down for the kill.

“AAAHHHH!!” I screamed, and closing my eyes, I jabbed my sword as up as I can. My sword was sinking into slime. My hands were shivering with the immense weight leaning down on it. I opened my eyes slowly.

My sword had punctured the body through a tiny chink in the armor plates. The creature was shivering and opening its mouth again and again as through it couldn’t believe it had been killed. Green blood dripped gruesomely from its stained stomach. Its legs froze in mid-air. Then for the last time it shrieked and crumbled down onto me.

Well, it didn’t exactly fall on top of me. If it had, I’d have been crushed with the weight. But the whole mound of flesh inside the shell melted away-like it vaporized-and the only thing that fell onto me was the heavy armor. First thing I saw a monster do. Most of them simply got chopped in half. What was inside the armor... gas?

A tall kid came running over to me, panting and calling my name. I recognized his face immediately-*Michael, with *Sam’s hat on his head. He must have realized the racket I was making.

“-Kenta!” He screamed. “What’s that you’ve got there?!”

He grabbed up a chunk of the red armor. “Oh gosh,” he whispered. “Impossible! How could it be…”

Michael stuffed one piece into Sam’s hat, but he wasn't smiling in satisfaction of getting a new specimen, which happens like once in a millennia. “According to my calculation, this is a Dragelion,” he explained to the still dazed me. “To be exact, the Dragelion Devourer. There’re many types, you know. I’ve heard rumors that once-about a millennium ago-there was a sorcerer named Extrarius Regis in the land we now call the Emperor. He used to be a biologist before the Impact-he studied monsters. So he created this Dragelion, too. He was pretty strong, with his own big country and all that stuff. But according to other scientists’ calculations, I was sure that these went extinct when Extrarius died… Hmm… Interesting. According to my calculations, I’ll have to research this.”

“Is it more deadly then the Chamberlain, a.k.a. the secret top servant of the Dark Lord?” I groaned.

“Well… it is.”

“C’mon, Kenta,” he patted my back, and I stood up, still half-dazed and some unconscious. Michael shoved the rest of the plates into the hat with difficulty, and then grabbed my hand. “Let’s go back. According to my calculation, I’ll tell the rest of the story later, after things get cleaned up-”

That was when suddenly, the mound of cardboard exploded-not again.

“Kshaaaahh!!” Something flew past me at the speed of light on 4 crimson wings, and I was forcefully banged onto a hard wood wall of a shop, which crumbled inside roughly. I was crucified onto the wall which became the floor of the dim-lit chamber with some swords hung on the walls-a Blacksmith’s Workshop, now empty and barren, looking like it had been closed for years. If my brain wasn’t damaged by this ambush, I was sure this was the Shiny Swordies shop that I used to sometimes go to when I was small, dreaming of becoming a swordsman.

Right now, I wished I had chosen that path.

The bag flew out of my outstretched hands and went sliding away onto the cold pavement. The evil inside rolled out.

The Dragelion that had caught me raised its beastly, gigantic head and screeched into my ringing brain. This one was different-only one head, 4 wings that weren’t on the last Dragelion.

“That’s a Dragelion Precipitator,” Michael quickly cut off his explanation unlike always, and then snatched out of the hat an *S.D.O.M.U.S.U. Zapper Gun. A bullet of electricity cut through the air, aimed perfectly at the beast, but it harmlessly clanked off the armor which had this time done its job. The Precipitator foamed its mouth and made its razor-sharp claws sink into my flesh, which horrifyingly seemed to shoot back again and again like a rotating chain saw. I screamed in terrible pain. By now, the book seemed nothing of a threat.

Michael, panicking unusually, shot several more bullets at Mr. Hideous. All of them only zapped the thick hide, but the shock that came was larger then expected. The creature shivered several times and let go of me, my blood staining its abdominal, spiny legs, dripping off. Then its large jaws turned away to Michael, drooling and spitting. It screeched, and took off into the air-aimed straight for my friend.

I couldn’t allow that.

I tried to stand up-but the exhaustion and blood wounds suddenly gripped hold of me. Half-unconscious and probably half-dead as well, I dropped down to the ground in a heap of tire. Out of the corner of my eye I could see Michael. But he wasn’t losing. He wasn’t at all. It looked like he was… screaming something.

“YOU FIEND!!” he roared, and took out a blue-colored bottle out of one of his many pockets on his black leather lab coat. The second it clanked onto the armor plates, they suddenly sizzled and bubbled away, melting to the ground in a thick, claylike stream of monster slime. Condensed Hydrochloric Acid. Something Michael always carried, “just for problems that go against my calculation”.

“THAT OUGHT TO TEACH YOU A LESSON!!” he yelled as the beast shrieked once more and fell to the ground, lifeless, into a bundle of simple bubbling armor and flabby, dry skin stretched over the wings. The flesh was melting away quickly, reducing to the ground into red puddles of slime. Then Michael barked, “Hey, Kenta! Alright?!” and dashed over to me.

The claws of the Dragelion Precipitator had made 8, deep wounds-6 on my legs, 2 on my arms. My bloody clothes were ruined, along with my legs-I knew they can’t be used any more for at least a month. I was far from alright. To make matters worse, unlike its badly hurt user, the book was safe. Curse it.

“According to my calculation, this is still better for someone ambushed by a Precipitator,” Michael’s words didn’t really cheer me up, through. “Most of the times they simply take you into the air and devour you or make you fall to death.” Which wasn’t a happy thought either.

“Well, let’s get out of here,” he shivered. “According to my calculation, the Dragelion Horde is close-probably its base is near the Metro, possibly in the mountains where it can’t be seen. Their tracking senses aren’t something you’d like to experiment with. Let’s go before any others come-you can’t battle again possibly, right? And my Condensed Hydrochloric Acid bottle is gone. Sam can do the politics while you rest-the Chamberlain isn’t always just evil, his politics will keep this country for at least a month, that’s enough to make you into normal with Bryce’s machines at our side. We need to give the Metro warnings a lot too, right?” He opened his *S.D.O.M.U.S.U. Warp Watch and pressed the *“PALACE” button. Michael piggybacked me and hopped into the Warp Hole that appeared before us. Then my eyesight went black.

*Bryce... One of Kenta's old friends. Inventor.

*Experience... Kenta once encountered a gigantic monster in the ocean ("The Legendary Beast"), with shape-changing abilities. The second form it took was a Megalodon.

*Dark Age... The time the dark lords nearly took over.

*King... The king before Das Pleto was a good king, and his ratings were well over 80%. He was assassinated by Das Pleto, eating poisoned food.

*Empire Invasion... The series of invasions the Empire tried upon the Republic.

*Ragnarox War... The war that Ragnarox rampaging caused. Since the beast destroyed much of the Republic's west, the people living west were forced to move into the Metro. Through Kenta killed it, it proved a Pyrrhic Victory, and ratings dropped.

*Mr. Capitis... The teacher who used to teach Kenta and friends History. It was boring.

*Destructive Wyrm Chicken and Hornet Wyvern...2 monsters Kenta battled before. Both mutated dragons.

*Ragnaroxian... A blade found out of Ragnarox's crystal. (Ragnarox has a crystal on its head. When it cracks, it gets killed as its power is stored inside.)

*Michael... One of Kenta's old friends. Chemistry scientist and genius.

*Sam... The real name is Samantha. Kenta's younger sister who has a magical hat which you can store things into and later take out. The dimension inside is curved so there is an infinate space. Whenever Kenta goes to an adventure with the kids, Sam's hat plays a good role. But the more you put in, the harder to get out what you want. Also, there seems to be a battery.

*S.D.O.M.U.S.U. ... A type of special machines that some of Kenta's old friends, Bryce and Max, have created. They are both inventors.

*PALACE... All kings live in the palace. This includes Kenta, and so the palace is Kenta's home. No, not me, the character.
