KoopaBrosFan
These are cards I created based upon an idea I got one day about cards involving figures from Greek mythology. There would be several individuals who would be chosen to receive one of these "Deity" cards so that they (meaning the Gods/creatures/people/etc. represented by the cards) could battle each other to see which of them was the strongest. Each character would receive their Deity-related cards from seemingly out of nowhere and would be naturally drawn to one another. When someone wins a match using a Deity card, their opponent is annihilated by the monster. Well...That's the general basis of the plot, anyways. I managed to create a Deity card for every Type (except Dinosaur, because...well...it's Dinosaur), even though I had to do some dual-typing to accomplish it. The way each Deity card works is that they all have four abilities: two that are the same for each one, and two that are different than all of the others'. The two that are the same are that they can't be destroyed in battle unless battling with another Deity card, and that when they inflict Battle Damage, the opponent can't activate Spells, Traps, or Monster Effects on the following turn. Yes, I know it seems overpowered, but the cards are supposed to be that way. Soooo, anyway...These are the ones I have so far. (I don't have nearly as many support cards for the Diety cards as I would like to have at the moment.) If you have any comments/criticism, it would be much appreciated. Disclaimer: I do not claim to own any of the images used in the creation of these cards. I would give credit where it is due, but most were found from a Google image search and the rest I’d have to find again. So meh. Oh, and another thing to avoid confusion: I used the name “Kegawa Ryoushi” on the cards, since that was supposed to be my screen name until I realized that I had apparently made this account a long time ago. Deity Monsters:
Dryad, Ruler of the Trees] This card cannot be destroyed in battle unless it battles with another Deity monster. When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent's life points, they cannot activate the effects of Spell, Trap, or Monster cards on their following turn. While this card is on the field, all other Plant type monsters gain 1000 DEF. Once per turn, you can flip all other Plant type monsters on your side of the field face-down, then shuffle them. Kegawa’s Notes: Whoa, nelly. That card image is somewhat inappropriate! Oh well; at least it looks cool. (Trust me…there were a lot of images that were way worse than this one.) This was one of those cards where I sat there and stared at the screen, thinking “Man…I have no idea what I’m going to do with this card.” So I decided to make it a defensively-oriented monster, though I’m not sure how useful that would be in terms of other Plant type monsters.
The Fates, Keeper of Souls] This card cannot be destroyed in battle unless it battles with another Deity monster. When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent's life points, they cannot activate the effects of Spell, Trap, or Monster cards on their following turn. Once per turn, you can destroy 1 monster on the field with the lowest ATK. If you activate this effect, this card cannot declare an attack this turn. When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, your opponent must destroy 1 monster on their side of the field. Kegawa’s Notes: Originally this card was supposed to have a different second effect where it could cause the opponent to choose one card at random from their hand, and if it was a Monster, it would be discarded. If one of the card’s effects was activated, it wouldn’t be able to attack or change Battle Positions. If both were activated, its ATK and DEF would become 0. But there was too much text and it was impossible to read on the card (even more so than now, if you can imagine), so I had to change it to an “eye for an eye” type effect. Kinda like Zeus, except not nearly as desctructive.
Hades, God of the Dead] This card cannot be destroyed in battle unless it battles with another Deity monster. When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent's life points, they cannot activate the effects of Spell, Trap, or Monster cards on their following turn. You can Tribute 1 Zombie type monster on your side of the field to increase this card's ATK by 1000 until the end of the turn. You can Tribute 2 Zombie type monsters to Special Summon this card from your Graveyard. Kegawa’s Notes: Okay, first off: I know the image isn’t exactly what most people would imagine Hades looking like, but it was difficult to find a good one when 90% of the images that came up were of the Disney character. (Had the same problem with Heracles/Hercules.) So anyway, this is the card that the main antagonist of the series would be using (even though…well…it’s clichéd). I personally like his ability to be summoned from the Graveyard, since it seems very fitting of the character…even if it is an incredibly cheap effect.
Hephaestus, God of the Forge] This card cannot be destroyed in battle unless it battles with another Deity monster. When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent's life points, they cannot activate the effects of Spell, Trap, or Monster cards on their following turn. Once per turn, you can add 1 Equip Spell from your Deck to your Hand, then shuffle your Deck. While this card is on your side of the field, your Equip Spells cannot be destroyed by a card effect. Kegawa’s Notes: Hmm…Not really much to say about this card, other than I feel that it’s probably the most flexible out of all the Deity cards.
Heracles, Warrior of the Gods] This card cannot be destroyed in battle unless it battles with another Deity monster. When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent's life points, they cannot activate the effects of Spell, Trap, or Monster cards on their following turn. If this card attacks a Beast, Beast-Warrior, Winged Beast, Reptile, Dragon, or Sea Serpent type monster, that card loses 1000 ATK and DEF points during the Damage Step only. You can Tribute this card during your Main Phase to summon 2 Warrior type monsters from your Graveyard. Kegawa’s Notes: Yeah, that’s right. I decided to use “Heracles” instead of “Hercules.” I dunno, I just think it sounds cooler. I think his ability is pretty fitting of him as well in terms of his role in mythology, even if it is a very long list of card Types.
Hermes, God of Flight] This card cannot be destroyed in battle unless it battles with another Deity monster. When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent's life points, they cannot activate the effects of Spell, Trap, or Monster cards on their following turn. This card gains 1000 ATK for every other Fairy type monster on your side of the field. If this card is designated as the target of an attack or a card effect, you can choose one Fairy type monster on your side of the field as the target instead. Kegawa’s Notes: Yes, I know he’s not the god of flight. But he is the god of speed, and flight can be used as another word for running sometimes. (Besides, “God of Speed” or “God of Messengers” doesn’t sound that great.) And yes, I know it looks like he’s on fire or something, but that’s the best image I could find.
Hydra, Multi-Headed Dragon] This card cannot be destroyed in battle unless it battles with another Deity monster. When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent's life points, they cannot activate the effects of Spell, Trap, or Monster cards on their following turn. If this card is attacked and is not destroyed in battle, Special Summon one Head Token (EARTH/1 star/Dragon/Deity/3000 ATK/1000 DEF) to your side of the field in Attack Position. If this card is targeted by the effect of a card that would destroy it, you can choose 1 Head Token as the target instead. Kegawa’s Notes: Get up on the Hydra’s back, Yug! Okay, now that the obligatory Abridged Series reference is out of the way, let’s have a nice, long discussion about this card. … It’s awesome.
Libra, Scales of Justice] This card cannot be destroyed in battle unless it battles with another Deity monster. When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent's life points, they cannot activate the effects of Spell, Trap, or Monster cards on their following turn. If your opponent attacks a monster other than this one, flip a coin. If it lands on Heads, negate the attack and recover life points equal to that monster's ATK. If it lands on Tails, discard one card from your hand. While this card is on the field, all DARK monsters shift to Defense Position the turn they are Normal Summoned. Kegawa’s Notes: Okay, Libra’s not actually from Greek mythology. But I needed a Machine type card, and it’s the only one that seemed to fit the bill to some extent. And whee for Second Coin Toss-boosted Deity cards. (Also for screwing over Dark attribute users. *Nelson laugh.*)
Medusa, Mistress of Demise] This card cannot be destroyed in battle unless it battles with another Deity monster. When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent's life points, they cannot activate the effects of Spell, Trap, or Monster cards on their following turn. Once per turn you can designate one monster on the field, and that card cannot attack or change its Battle Position until the end of the owner's next turn. This card's type is also treated as Reptile. Kegawa’s Notes: I really like the way this card came out. The image looks awesome and the name is just too cool for school. Its ability is also pretty useful for freezing an annoying enemy monster (especially a Deity monster), even if its stats suffer for it. Also, this is one of the dual-type cards I was talking about earlier. Hooray for convenience…or maybe it’s just laziness?
Minotaur, Horned Guardian] This card cannot be destroyed in battle unless it battles with another Deity monster. When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent's life points, they cannot activate the effects of Spell, Trap, or Monster cards on their following turn. During battle between this attacking card and a Defense Position monster whose DEF is lower than the ATK of this card, inflict the difference as Battle Damage to your opponent. This card gains 500 ATK when battling against a monster in Attack Position during the Damage Step only. Kegawa’s Notes: Holy guacamole, that’s a frightening image. It’s just too bad I couldn’t find a better one…one that isn’t going to haunt my nightmares. In any case, I still think this card is kinda cool. It’s just so obnoxiously attack-based.
Pegasus, Stallion of the Skies] This card cannot be destroyed in battle unless it battles with another Deity monster. When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent's life points, they cannot activate the effects of Spell, Trap, or Monster cards on their following turn. Once per turn, during your Main Phase, you may equip this card on any Warrior type monster as an Equip Card, OR unequip this card and Special Summon it. The equipped monster gains the abilities of this card and 1000 ATK and DEF points. You may Special Summon this card when the equipped monster is destroyed. Kegawa’s Notes: Awesome card image is awesome…but complicated effect is complicated. Just think of it this way, though: You could turn a card like Silent Swordsman Lvl 8, Gilford the Legend, Shining Flare Wingman, etc. into a Deity card. That’s pretty much why its stats suck for an 8 star card.
Pisces, Fish of Duality] This card cannot be destroyed in battle unless it battles with another Deity monster. When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent's life points, they cannot activate the effects of Spell, Trap, or Monster cards on their following turn. If this card destroyed an opponent's monster in battle, it can attack once again in a row. When this card is in Attack Position, its ATK becomes 3000. When this card is in Defense Position, its DEF becomes 3000. Kegawa’s Notes: Here’s my Fish type Deity monster. I can has cheezeburger nao? (Hey, do you remember when this section used to actually be about the details of the card? Yeah, me neither.)
Poseidon, God of the Seas] This card cannot be destroyed in battle unless it battles with another Deity monster. When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent's life points, they cannot activate the effects of Spell, Trap, or Monster cards on their following turn. When this card is Normal or Special Summoned, destroy any active Field Spells and activate "Umi' or "A Legendary Ocean" from your Hand, Deck, or Graveyard. As long as this card remains on the field, the designated Field Spell cannot be destroyed by a card effect and no other Field Spells can be activated. Kegawa’s Notes: As much as I despise Umi/A Legendary Ocean strategies, I felt obligated to base Poseidon’s card effects around it. I mean, he’s the god of the ocean and whatnot, so it makes sense. It just irks me a little that it seems so different than the normal basis for Deity cards.
Scorpio, Bane of Man] This card cannot be destroyed in battle unless it battles with another Deity monster. When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent's life points, they cannot activate the effects of Spell, Trap, or Monster cards on their following turn. When this card attacks a monster that is not Insect type, that card is destroyed after damage calculation. If that card was a Warrior type monster, inflict damage to your opponent equal to that card's ATK. When this card is sent to the Graveyard, you can remove from play 1 Insect monster to Special Summon this card. Kegawa’s Notes: When I made this card, I was pretty much at the stage of grasping for straws to try to fulfill every monster Type. So if it seems sub-par or half-arsed, then it probably is. Now get out of the way, Scorpio, so I can introduce the next card.
Scylla, Scourge of the Seas] This card cannot be destroyed in battle unless it battles with another Deity monster. When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent's life points, they cannot activate the effects of Spell, Trap, or Monster cards on their following turn. Once per turn, you can destroy one card on your opponent's side of the field. If you activate this effect, this card cannot declare an attack and is changed into Defense Position until the end of your turn. This card's type is also treated as Beast. Kegawa’s Notes: This is definitely my favorite of all the Deity cards…and not just because it’s partially a naked woman. I swear. No, it’s just the combination of the name, the image, the effects, and the combo you can play with Charybdis that make me proud of what I’ve done here. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to stare at the card image and drool.
Talos, Bronze Giant of Wrath] This card cannot be destroyed in battle unless it battles with another Deity monster. When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent's life points, they cannot activate the effects of Spell, Trap, or Monster cards on their following turn. By dividing this card's ATK in half, it can attack your opponent directly. When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, destroy all Spell and Trap cards on the field. Kegawa’s Notes: Okay, done drooling. Now, onto a card that may be even more half-arsed than Scorpio. Or at least in terms of the card image, but…well, I just couldn’t find anything better.
Zeus, God of Thunder] This card cannot be destroyed in battle unless it battles with another Deity monster. When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent's life points, they cannot activate the effects of Spell, Trap, or Monster cards on their following turn. You can Tribute 1 Thunder type monster on your side of the field to inflict 1000 points of damage to your opponent's life points. When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, destroy all monsters on the field. Kegawa’s Notes: And finally, we have the Deity card that the main protagonist of my story would use. Um…not really much to say other than that. Support Monsters:
Beast-Slayer Theseus] If this card battles with a Beast, Beast-Warrior, Winged Beast, Reptile, Dragon, or Sea Serpent type monster, that card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard after damage calculation. Kegawa’s Notes: I really need a better image for this card. Badly. I mean, that’s not even Theseus in the drawing. *Sigh.* Well, in any case…As you can see, this card is basically a very watered-down version of Heracles.
Charybdis the Devourer] If "Scylla, Scourge of the Seas" is on your side of the field, you can destroy one card on your opponent's side of the field. If you activate this effect, this card cannot declare an attack and is switched into Attack Position until the end of your turn. Kegawa’s Notes: When combined with Scylla, this can be a really annoying strategy for your opponents to have to overcome. I, of course, love it. <3
Hell Beast Cerberus] This card can only be Normal Summoned or Special Summoned while the Field Spell "Underworld" is in play. If "Underworld" is destroyed while this card is on the field, destroy this card and send it to the Graveyard. This card can attack up to three Monster Cards on the same turn. Kegawa’s Notes: A support monster for a Hades deck. It can only be used in conjunction with “Underworld,” but at least it’s a powerful 6 star card. Spells:
Final Face-Off] This card can only be activated when you have a "Heracles, Warrior of the Gods" or "Hydra, Multi-Headed Dragon" on your side of the field. Choose one monster on your opponent's side of the field and flip a coin. If it lands on Heads, destroy that monster and remove it from play. If it lands on Tails, you take 1000 points of damage to your life points. Kegawa’s Notes: Man, that card image is awesome. Alas, I’m not entirely sure if this card would even be worth playing unless you had Second Coin Toss. Meh.
Threatening Force] You can only activate this card if "Minotaur, Horned Guardian" is on your side of the field. All monsters on your opponent's side of the field in Attack Position are switched to Defense Position. Kegawa’s Notes: As you can see, it’s a Minotaur support card…and a pretty good one at that.
Trial of Two Beasts] You can only activate this card if "Scylla, Scourge of the Seas" is on your side of the field. Destroy all other monsters on your side of the field, then Special Summon "Charybdis the Devourer" from your Hand, Deck, or Graveyard. This card cannot be destroyed unless "Scylla, Scourge of the Seas" or "Charybdis the Devourer" is removed from the field. While this card is in play, the owner of this card cannot Normal Summon or Special Summon any monsters. Kegawa’s Notes: An easy way to get the Scylla + Charybdis combo instantly. Unfortunately, it carries a heavy penalty with it, but I suppose it wouldn’t be very fair if it didn’t.
Underworld] All Zombie type monsters gain 500 ATK points and lose 500 DEF points. While "Hades, God of the Dead" is on your side of the field, all of your monsters are treated as Zombie types. Kegawa’s Notes: The only Deity-based Field Spell I have…for the moment. I’m really hoping I can come up with a few other ones. Traps:
Bringing Down the Beast] This card can only be activated if "Heracles, Warrior of the Gods" or "Beast-Slayer Theseus" is on your side of the field and your opponent declares an attack on any of your monsters. If the attacking monster is Beast, Beast-Warrior, Winged Beast, Reptile, Dragon, or Sea Serpent type, the attack is negated and the monster is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard. Kegawa’s Notes: I just had to make this card after coming upon that image. I mean, how could you not? Anyway, this is yet another anti-multiple-types card that works with a Thesues/Heracles deck.
Call to Duty] This card can only be activated if "Hermes, God of Flight" is on your side of the field. Special Summon 2 Messenger Tokens (WIND/1 star/Fairy/0 ATK/500 DEF) to your side of the field in Defense Position. These tokens cannot be Tributed for a Tribute Summon or by a card's effect. During your Main Phase 1, if these tokens are no longer on the field, you can activate this card's effect again. Kegawa’s Notes: Man, this card works really well with Hermes…almost too well. Meh, whatever. I’m not exactly going for realism here. I’m going for “ZOMG we’re dueling with gods and stuff asagfadjshad!”
Guarding the Labyrinth] You can only activate this card if "Minotaur, Horned Guardian" is on your side of the field and an opponent's monster declares an attack. "Minotaur, Horned Guardian" becomes the new attack target. Kegawa’s Notes: I love this card’s image. Seriously. Well, that’s it for now. I’ll be updating this topic if I make any more cards.
