Brawler_1337
Anyone remember that old PS2 game, Shadow of the Colossus? Whether you remember it or not, it is one of my favorite games of all time. So I decided to make a YGO card set dedicated. I plan on making at least all 16 colossi, as well as some Spells and Traps named after some songs on the OST. I know I've posted this set before, but some of the cards got edited, so I'd just like to post them again. I have gone to great lengths to find pictures that weren't from the game, so I could retain the anime feel of Yu-Gi-Oh, even if some of the pictures don't look as much anime as I would like. Image credit is given in the Circulation when applicable. (Cards are subject to change) Completed Cards (at least until I change them again): [spoiler=Valus, the Minotaur] [spoiler=Quadratus, Taurus Major] [spoiler=Gaius, Earth Knight] [spoiler=Avion, Delta Phoenix]Once per turn, you can pay 700 Life Points or remove 1 Vital Counter from a monster you control (if it is the last Vital Counter on that monster, the monster is not destroyed) to activate one of the following effects:--This card can attack your opponent directly.--This card can attack twice during the same Battle Phase.--Move this card to an unoccupied Spell or Trap Card Zone on your side of the field until the Standby Phase of your next turn. It cannot be selected as an attack target. If you have no other monsters in your Monster Card Zones, your opponent can attack you directly. [spoiler=Dirge, Sand Tiger]When your opponent declares an attack on this monster, roll a six-sided die. If the result is a 2, 4, or 6, this monster is not destroyed (damage calculation is applied normally). If it is a 3, destroy this monster and take 500 damage. If the result is a 1 or 5, destroy this card and take damage equal to the ATK of the attacking monster.(I'm considering changing this card's picture, due to the black widescreen bands on top and bottom. It seemed like a good idea at the time ^_^; I would also like to add a Vital Counter effect to it to make it more interesting and less UPed) [spoiler=Black Blood] Tribute 1 "Wanderer, Slayer of Colossi" and 2 non-Tuner Colossus monsters you control to activate this card. Special Summon 1 "Dormin, the Reawakened" from your Extra Deck or Graveyard and equip it with this card. When the equipped monster attacks, you can change the Battle Position of 1 of your opponent's monsters (Flip Effects are not activated at this time). When this card is removed from the field, remove the equipped monster from play. [spoiler=Dormin, the Reawakened]1 Colossus Tuner monster + 1 or more non-Tuner monstersThis card can only be Summoned by Synchro Summon or by the effect of "Black Blood." When this card destroys a monster by battle, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the number of Colossus monsters on the field x 300. When this card is removed from the field, Special Summon as many Colossus monsters as possible to your side of the field. Pay 400 Life Points for each monster Special Summoned by this effect. [spoiler=Wanderer, Slayer of Colossi]When this card battles a Colossus monster, put 3 Vital Counters on the Colossus monster and end the current Battle Phase. A Colossus monster with a Vital Counter on it loses 500 ATK. If a monster with a Vital Counter would be destroyed by battle, remove 1 Vital Counter from it instead (damage calculation is applied normally). When the last Vital Counter is removed from a monster, destroy it immediately. When this card battles a monster with a Vital Counter on it, increase its ATK by 1700 during damage calculation only. [spoiler=A Messenger From Behind]Activate only when your opponent declares an attack on a Colossus monster you control. Equip this card to that monster. Negate the attack and move the equipped monster to an unoccupied Spell & Trap Card Zone on your side of the field. You must conduct your Battle Phase next turn. During your next Battle Phase, move the equipped monster back to its original Monster Card Zone. The equipped monster loses 500 ATK, and can attack your opponent directly. This card is destroyed during the End Phase of your opponent's next turn. Incomplete Cards: [spoiler=Phaedra, Equus Prime]Once per turn, you can move this monster to an unoccupied Monster Card Zone on your side of the field. This card can only attack monsters in its own column. Instead of having this card attack, you can destroy 1 Spell or Trap Card in this card's column (this is treated as an attack by this card). If you use this effect, decrease the ATK of this card by 500 until the End Phase of your opponent's turn. [spoiler=Hydrus, Sea Dragon] [spoiler=Phalanx, Air Sailer]When this monster is switched to Defense Position, put 1 counter on it (max. 2). Once per turn, during your Battle Phase, you can remove 1 counter from this card to halve its ATK until the End Phase of your opponent's turn. This card can then attack your opponent directly. You can remove 1 Vital Counter from this card to [effect incomplete].(I ran out of inspiration. I need ideas for effects that would fit the colossus) So, rate, comment, suggest improvements, and all that other crap.
bigedf
I love(d) this game! These bring back good memories. I didn't even know the the Colossi had names! Were they real or did you make them up? I like the "Vital Counter" idea, very original. In my opinion, on Dormin I think his effect should be, "1 Colossus Tuner monster + 1 or more non-Tuner monstersThis card can only be Summoned by Synchro Summon or by the effect of "Black Blood." When this card destroys a monster by battle, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the number of Colossus monsters in your Graveyard x 300. When this card is removed from the field, Special Summon as many Colossus monsters as possible to your side of the field. Pay 400 Life Points for each monster Special Summoned by this effect. 7.7/

Brawler_1337
I'll be reposting a couple cards. I just realized that it should be "Spell & Trap Card Zone," not "Spell or Trap Card Zone."I'm also going to replace Dirge's picture sometime, but I haven't found a hand-drawn one that gives a good image (I might as well just crop out the widescreen bands). Also, "Colossus" is a subtype, not a second type. I learned a long time ago that making up types is a strict no-no, but making up subtypes was okay, hence my decision. I'm also still kinda working on some of the effects (like I want to add a Vital Counter effect to Dirge or something). You guys could recommend some ideas, if you want. I'm open to suggestions. And, for the record, yes, each Colossus does have a name--three names, in fact. Each has a regular name ("Valus," "Quadratus," etc.), a Latin name, and a translation of the Latin name (the part after the comma in the card name). These translations can vary from site to site, so I'm going with what I find. I believe Valus's Latin name is "Minotaurus Colossus," but I decided to shorten it to "The Minotaur." Finally, I know I made a couple of vanillas, but that is for good reason: they are the first three colossi in the game, and they don't really involve using the environment much to kill them. Thus, I did not give them effects. The other ones get much harder to defeat, and they involve a little more thought, so they deserve effects. New card coming soon. Kato_Zenamara
You DO realise that tuner type is NOT vanilla colored? Also, three types = you fail at life.Sub-types are /effect, /tuner, /union, things of that sort. Not third types.Third types only work when its a Fusion or Ritual when its ???/Ritual/Effect or ???/Fusion/Effect.
Zeroke
Hm, why didn't someone think of this before. Pics are a little different from eachother. Try to get one that doesn't have the Wanderer in it. Too lazy to read OCG, so I will give a 7.6/
Brawler_1337
@Zeroke: As I've said before, I've gone to great lengths to avoid using screenshots from the game as the card images, to give the cards a more realistic feel--YGO cards don't use 3D renderings as images, but instead anime-looking monsters. Trouble is, a lot of SotC images on DeviantART have the Wanderer in them, and the art styles change from artist to artist. Furthermore, there are very few pictures of most Colossi (only the iconic ones like Valus, Quadratus, and Gaius), even with screenshots. Unfortunately, I do not have a screen capture thing or whatever, and even if I did, I would probably need to have an SotC emulation on my computer--something I'm not sure I could have, since I have a Mac (plus, I'm not sure if that's even legal). In short, it's tough finding pictures like these. @Kato_Zenamara: I see your point about the multi-type thing. But I am reluctant to change "Colossus" to a subtype as you describe it for three reasons: 1) It would be a very limited subtype, as there are only sixteen Colossi (not including Dormin); 2) I would not be able to have Tuners to Synchro Summon Dormin, as that would involve having two subtypes, which, by your logic, is an impossibility; and 3) I've tried making new subtypes before by changing the image's link to have the subtype say something else rather than "Effect," but whenever I try posting that card, it just turns up with something like, "Come to yugiohcardmaker.net"--I can't get the damn card to show up. Also, I don't like the idea of using "Colossus" as an archetype because, in order to do that, I need to put "Colossus" somewhere in the card name. But I don't see how I would implement that or even why, given that the Colossi already have official descriptive names. So, contrary to your (somewhat inflammatory) "You fail at life" remark, I will keep the multiple types. Oh, and about the vanilla Tuner thing... [spoiler=Proof that you are wrong] Yeah, there are vanilla Tuners (just not a whole lot).
