the court ruled that they couldn't bundle Explorer with their computers

Not that I'm for IE or anything' date=' but wouldn't this mean we would get computers... without an internet browser? How are we supposed to get on the internet? The only use for IE is downloading a new browser, IMO.

I'm surprised you haven't seen all the news postings and blogs plastered across the internet. There will be what I believe is an IE shell, which takes you to a site which displays 5 browsers in a random order (FF, Chrome, IE, Safari, Opera), and there is a button to display another few browsers as well.

I lol'd at all of those using IE. May you continue to wallow in the hellhole you seem so accustomed to.

Seriously' date=' Internet Explorer is a piece of s***.

Yes sir. Also,

Firefox > Chrome > Safari Opera > Everything else >>>...> IE

Fixed.

I second that. Although IMO Opera is on par with Chrome very, very almost.

No. While Opera does have quite a lot of useful features, it is completely and utterly outdone by Firefox. The main reason Chrome is second is that while Firefox is more useful, Chrome is faster and has a slick interface. Opera isn't on top of any one area, but it is a good all-rounder compared to Chrome, hence why it only has 3rd place.

tl;dr: Firefox is best, Chrome is fastest, Opera is neither

Chrome =/= Chromium = You Fail.

Nice one' date=' dumbass.

I always use Google Chrome. Firefox sucks, too laggy, crappy and has all random stuff I don't need, Chromy is simple and quicker to load.

I was going to illustrate precisely why you're wrong and an idiot, but then I realized I can't be bothered.

The only browsers I have used are Internet Explorer and Firefox (and Netscape Navigator, but... you know). In my experience, Firefox is clearly superior to IE. IE looks and feels terrible, and it seems a little complicated. What customization options are there for it? Is there a Personas equivalent? That by itself is a silly reason to prefer a browser; I like Firefox way better for other reasons anyways, but looking at Aurora Australis is the cherry on top.

When Firefox first came out, I didn't want to use it. Not for any valid reason, I just didn't feel like trying something new when I had already gotten used to the established browser. Eventually I switched to FF, and now IE looks like crap to me. I think a fair amount of the 70% using IE use it because they've always used it, or they aren't entirely aware of the options available. Like the kind of people who have computers but don't tinker with most personal settings unless someone else puts them in front of their face. If you ask someone what browser they use and why, and the only answer you get is the name, show them the other options; maybe they'll like the new stuff.

On topic... Chromium. Hmm. Haven't tried it, don't really feel like it. Yes, a little ironic, whatever. What would be nice is a side-by-side comparison, those always seem to put things in perspective. Got any screens of FF and Chromium? Not having used Chrome myself, I don't feel entitled to say it's crap. Maybe a couple of pics of the browser might get you a couple of converts.

Thank you for that last part, Umbra. I actually laughed out loud. That seems to be almost the sole reason for IE on any computer I use. Download Firefox, switch the default browser, then delete the IE Desktop shortcut. The only time I use IE anymore is for (optional) manual updates I can't do with FF.
