Yugioh GX - Duel Academy (Still Accepting) (Advanced, PG-16)(Started)

I know there are a thousand of these, but they're also fun, and I'm gonna try to make this one a little different.

Duel Academy has remained open after Jaden and his friends have completed their time there. Popularity has risen since Jaden's graduation, and more and more prodigal students are accepted every day. Some with the same dream as Jaden: To become the next King of Games.

 

True plot will come into play as students and teachers come in. It'll be determined as things happen in the RP. If you want to do something with your character and there story, PM me about it, I'll let you know if it's okay to do. I don't want a bunch of dimenstion travel and whatnot without me saying it's okay, and it should be something most, if not all, participants are aware and a part of.

I'm just gonna list them. I don't need to explain it. You get a warning, then reported. Plain and simple.

1 - No godmoding. This is a given and a rule of the RP forums themselves. Follow it.

 

2 - Follow all of the advanced clause rules. Posts should be 1-2 paragraphs with proper spelling and grammar, use proper dialog with quotations, etc. For a full list of the Advanced clause rules, go to the Roleplaying Rules and Updates thread.

 

3 - I've rated this PG-16 to give leway and realism to the story. I don't expect a bunch of 15-18 year-old character to say: "Shoot!" when they lose, I'd expect a "God dammit!" or a "sheet!"

 

4 - No trolling, spamming, flaming, etc. These are also givens. PM me your apps with the subject title: "YGO GX " and your character name so I know you've read the rules.

Name: Zeraius Kiboshi

Gender: Male

Age: 17

 

Description: Zeraius is about 5'8" with long-ish dark blue hair. He always wears a black jacket over a purple shirt and long black pants. His duel disk is all white with yellow rune-like symbols all over it.

 

Bio: Zeraius first entered duel academy with average scores on tests and mediocre dueling skills. He used to be a huge fan of the Silent Magician cards, but sometime during the year, he found a new set of cards. When he made his new deck, something awoke inside of him. From then on he got perfect scores and has never lost a duel. However, he doesn't duel leisurely anymore, only when forced to by the teachers, or if challenged

 

Personality: Zeraius keeps to himself most of the time, he can't stand the discrimination the dorms face however. He has a few friends with whom he talks and will hang out with on occasion, but he isn't the type to make friends himself. He'll always need someone to talk to him first.

 

Dorm: Obelisk Blue

 

Deck: Lightsworns (I don't run any of the "meta" cards included, not even Honest. It's an archetype slave version, so don't worry about anything)

Description: Zackhas Dirty blonde hair with a small fow-hawk. He wears Black geans with rips in them. And his Slifer Red uniform with a Red T-shirt inside that says I want to be the next King of Games.

Bio:Zack has a been a great duelist all his life. He has the same dream as Jaden except he doesn't think that will happen after someone like Jaden Graduated from Duel Academy. Zack has entered alot of Tourneys to build up his skill. He never won any of them but he still had fun.

Personality:Fun, Always get people who are down back up.

Description: Luc is about 5 feet, 6 inches tall. He has short, blonde hair. His eyes are a deep midnight blue in color. He has the Academy V2 Obelisk Blue Duel Disk(the season four Duel disk that Alexis and I think Chazz had). He wears a uniform jacket similar to Jaden's, but where Jaden's had red, Luc's has blue.

 

Bio: Luc decided to attend Duel Academy because he figured that a normal High School would be boring. Luc uses very complex strategies and always analyzes situations. His interest in Duel Monsters began when he got his first card:the mighty "Blue-Eyes White Dragon"

 

Personality: Luc has a personality similar to Jaden's(prior to the Yubel incident), but he has a short temper sometimes.

Name: Isumi Kimidori (or Kimidori Isumi in Japaneese order)

Age: 16

Gender: Female

Description: Short and slim, with black shoulder lengh hair usually tied into a ponytail. Although she looks fragile, she's surprisingly strong, although not unreasonably so. She generally wears the normal uniform, usually with the front of her uniform jacket open, showing the shirt underneath. When not in uniform she generally wears a loose shirt and jenes. She uses the standard acadamy duel disk, but modified with an auto-shuffler.

Bio: Isumi's mother died when she was young, and so she was raised by her father along with three older brothers. It was therefore almost inevitable that she'd have more interest in 'male' activities than other girls her age, despite her father's best efforts otherwise. Her father was a repairman and scrap metal merchant, and she found she had a talent for dealing with mechanical things. Thus she began to help out the family business, and when her oldest brother got her her first deck he passed over traditionally 'female' decks and instead got her a deck based on the family business.

Personality: She's somewhat of a tomboy, and she's certainly able to stand up for herself, but she's also rather quiet, and simply keeps to herself a lot. In her free time, aside from dueling, she prefers to tinker with various mechaincal and electrical items, which are generally left around her dorm room.

Name: Azrael Valiant

 

Age: 16

 

Gender: Male

 

Description: With a similar look like Pegasus, he has long Silver hair that covers half of his face. He's favorite color is the Red so he uses that color so often. He always wears a Red Blood Coat (like Jack Atlas) and white gloves that never get dirty.

 

Bio: A smart boy that looses his parents when he was a child, he might be young but he is Graduated and the pretty owner of the Fantasy Corp, but, he also hinds a black past. His 2 favorites Deck were the Arcana Force Deck and the Archfiends Deck, but, when he lost his parents, he found a new card and build his new Deck around it awakening a Dark Entity inside him. Now, his was accepted as a New Teacher at Duel Academy.

 

Personality: Might act as a Cold Person, but he really cares about the people he loves.

 

Dorm: Teacher

 

Deck: Fiend Night ( A full fiend Deck based on the Virus Card and Dark Necrofear)

Name:Leon Phoenix

Age: 16

Gender: Male

Description: Mid-long black hair and wears goggles on his forehead. He uses a modded duel disk similar to Professor Crowley's disk and his uniform jacket open. When out of uniform he likes to use a leather jacket and lose pants.

 

Bio: DA was skeptical in receiving him due to his borderline passing scores, but welcomed him after he defeated most of the proctors including the 3 dorm heads and almost beating the top student in the Obelisk dorm. Upon entering, he was accepted into Ra Yellow but declined because he didn't want any special treatment. Growing up, he lived in the slums of Domino City and learned to fend for himself at an early age. When he was 7 he dueled Yugi Motou and received a deck from him after their duel, in which he found his duel spirit Zombyra the Dark. Plays bass in a band he started at DA.

 

Personality: Mellow to the point of being a tranqiulizer dart. Tends to be impulsive and reckless, he won't back down when it comes to protecting his beliefs, friends, and loved ones.

 

Dorm: Slifer Red

Name: Lina Mumi aka Lucky Lina

Age: 18

Gender: Female

Description: Long blonde hair, Blue eyes, Very tall, Very skinny. Has numerous tattoos of stars around her wrists, on her knees, and two small ones, one on each cheek. Wears cowboy boots, a blue tube top, a brown miniskirt, and her dorm vest open.

Bio: Lina is the daughter of Mark Mumi, the best gambler there was. That is, until he was shot by a unknown masked man. Heartbroken, Lina wanted hunt the killer down. She searched high and low for him, but no luck. She transferred to duel academy, hoping that she could get over the death of her father.

Personality: Happy-go-lucky, tries to stay happy no matter how serious the situation.

Dorm: Ra Yellow

Deck: Luck Deck (any cards involving coin tosses and dice rolls)

Gender: male

Description: An about 5'4 relatively chubby kid that was accepted into duel academy due to his great grades. He loved to duel more than anything, but managed to fit classwork in. He has dirty blonde hair that is spiked backwards and brown eyes.

Name: Banashime Hitokuchi

Age: 26

Description: A woman with multi-colored hair that has two wing-like bang sets on either side of her forehead, tufts that drop in front of her ears, and more that spikes near her neck. She keeps it up via Chinese-style hairpins and a small rubber bob. Her skin is quite pale, and her eyes also seem to shift colors in the light. She also has a body that is attractive, but seems a bit out of proportion, with large hips and breasts, yet a tiny waist. Overall, she has an eerie resemblance to her ace card...

Bio: A mysterious woman who loves to joke around and play pranks. Her background is largely unknown, but she knows a lot about dueling, and apparently holds a master's degree in Education. She mainly teaches Dueling Discipline, which instructs students on staying focused, no matter what is going on. Due to the nature of her cards, they can distract their opponent, especially a male one. Combine that with possible additions to the duel, and a student can easily fail. She also leads the Obelisk Blue girls' dorm, and generally enjoys having fun with her female pupils.

Personality: She likes to joke with people, but she can be very serious, especially when dueling.

Dorm: Obelisk Blue (Girls' Dorm)

Gender: M

Description: Long Blonde hair to his shoulders, Dark blue eyes. Wears a special Ra yellow uniform with no collar unbuttoned. Has the Ra Yellow Duel Academy duel disk.

Bio: Donovan came to Duel Academy not to learn, but to get better competition. He has won 24 tournament qualifying matches, and won all 24 tournaments he was in. He also won the only World Championship he has ever competed in. He has been using his Crystal Beasts for oer 10 years now, and has earned them as his duel spirits. However, he is closest to Ruby Carbuncle.

Personality: Kind, loving, Yet fierce and merciless when it comes to duels.

Dorm: Ra Yellow

Age: 16

Gender: Male

Description: Jason is an African American who keeps his hair cut short. He stands at 5'8" and is of medium build. He has both of his ears pierced with studs. He wears bold framed glasses and still has braces. He wears his yellow Ra jacket buttoned up with the complementing gray pants.

Bio: Jason loves dueling, and duel at every chance possible. Jason hates watching his cards be destroyed, and as such, uses cards to bring them back. He attended Duel Academy because of all the stories and adventures that happened there, and he hoped he would be able to go on his own "Duel Academy Adventure."

Personality: Jason is most of the time chill, and can still pull out a joke even during serious times. The only time he truly becomes serious is during dire situations, although still issuing a random joke.

Dorm: Ra Yellow

Deck: Reviving Dragons (not an archetype obviously, he just uses dragons, and revives them a lot)

Dueling will follow generic rules.

Start with 8000 life points. If you're in a duel with another character, please end your posts with the following format:

Hand: (Number of cards in hand)

Monsters: (List the monsters on the field and there current position, as well as the current position's stats)

S/T's: (List your current S/T's, if face down then say how many are face down)

Graveyard: Give the number of cards in your graveyard

 

When a monster is summoned give the stats, and a synopses of the effect. If you wish, link to the wikia entry for the monster)

 

Same goes for spells/traps. Give the type of spell/trap and it's effect.

((Looks like I get to start then. Oh and Azelf the deck list I sent is being tweaked a bit, but there won't be anything very different from what's already there))

 

It was an ideal day. Warm, sunny, dry, it was the kind of the day that people have fond memories about. Thus Isumi Kimidori was sat outside, with her back to a tree, holding up a duel disk. At frequent intervals a rattling sound was emerging from it, despite the device being help perfectly still. She placed it on her lap and brought a small screwdriver from her jacket pocket. Within a minute the device had been stripped down to the major component parts, and she was holding the deck slot up and examining it. She gave it a shake and a small screw fell from it. Having identified the source of the rattle, she rebuilt the device, fixing the screw where it should have been before. The device was no longer rattling. She reached behind her, pulled out a deck of cards and pushed them into the card slot. There was a whir as the cards were shuffled by the device. Satisfied, she removed the cards and set the duel disk onto the ground and returning the screwdriver to her pocket. The whole thing had taken less that five minutes. She leaned back against the tree trunk and closed her eyes, listening to the wind in the trees.

Luc stood on the dock near the Slifer Red dorm, looking out at the ocean. The gentle sea breeze caused his Obelisk Blue uniform jacket to flutter lightly. It was a beautiful day, and Luc felt calm and relaxed. He sighed. "C'mon Blue-Eyes, let's head back to the dorm." he said, seemingly talking to the air. But he was talking to an entity that, as far as he knew, only he could see. That entity was his duel spirit:Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon. Blue-Eyes growled in agreement and disappeared from sight. Luc turned and began to walk back to the Boys' Blue Dorm.

Zeraius exited the boy's blue dorm soon after getting ready. He put on his usual outfit, contemplating on whether or not to bring his duel disk with him. He decided to, just in case. The bright white device clamped down on his arm and the yellow runes seemed to light up a little when the the disk was in place. His classes for the day weren't worth going to, so he skipped them. He only showed up for the tests in most of his classes.

 

He decided the cliff would be a good place to go and relax for his day off. He was hoping nobody would bother him to duel, but Zeraius made a point to never turn down a challenge. Slifer Reds usually didn't bother him to duel, they felt intimidated by his reputation. Teachers had compared him to Zane and Jaden before... At least, after last year they did.

Isumi opened her eyes. She noticed that there was someone by the cliffs. Closer inspection showed that it was that Zeraius boy, the one who had been an average student until suddenly becoming one of the top students in the school. He was instantly recognisable by his black outfit, although the strange part was his presence by the Slifer dorms.

 

He must not think anyone will dare challenge him, she reasoned, he may have a point. People, especially those in the school's lowest dorm, didn't very often challenge the top students, so he probably wouldn't be inundated with challenges. Isumi considered challenging him herself, but decided against it - she'd rather just spend today relaxing. She continued watching the older student. I wonder if he knows I'm here she pondered.

As Zeraius was staring out at the ocean, a girl wearing white robes, only a few inches shorter than him with short blonde hair appeared behind him.

"She's staring at you." Said the girl.

Zeraius looked around without turning his head, he didn't wanna make it look obvious.

"Well, I'm sure most of the students around here would be. I doubt it's normal for an Obelisk to be wandering around near their dorms."

He sighed at the mention of his rank. He hated the ranking system, he felt it supressed potential in a lot of the duelists. They felt if they were a slifer they'd always be a slifer, and therefore didn't practice as hard or as much as they should be.

"You should talk to her, you've been spending too much time alone lately, it's not good for you Zeraius."

"Fine fine, if you'll quit bothering me to be more social I will, Lumina." Zeraius turned and walked towards the girl against the tree. Lumina walked behind him, but faded away as he got close.

Zack entered his dorm room.

 

"Ahhhh home." he said.

 

He unpacked his stuff and went outside to enjoy the nice summer day. He walked outside. They're were birds chirping. Also as he walked out of his room the blazing sun shot in his eyes. He saw a girl siting under a tree. He walked over and asked "Hey whats your name I'm Zack."

 

As he waited for an answer he sat down next to her. Ahh nice to be in the shade he thought to himself. An apple fell from the tree and hit him.

 

"Ouch. Stupid tree!" he yelled at the tree.

[Time Psyduck]

"Isumi," she replied to a boy, who had just introduced himself as Zack, who had sat down alongside her. She didn't recognise him, even though he had the same uniform on, so she figured he must have been a first year. She didn't get to say much else though, as Zeraius had chosen that moment to come up and introduce himself to the other boy at about the same time. I suppose that means he did see me, she decided, or he saw this guy, at least.

Zeraius decided it'd be best to talk to both at the same time, less focus on him talking.

"I suppose you both are first years?" he asked.

"I hope your entrance exam wasn't too rough." He said as he tried to make conversation.

Dammit Lumina, I'm terrible at starting conversation.

He put his hands in his pockets and tried to act nonchalant, but he wasn't very good at that either.

[Time Psyduck]

(Given the ages of the characters and that it's the start of the year, I'd guess that Zeraius would be in his third year if student's graduate at 18. That makes Zack a first year and the others second years. That's what makes most sense to me, but correct me if I'm wrong.)

 

"Second, actually," Isumi responded, "Although I wouldn't expect you to know I was here. I still remember my entrance exams though, and I know I don't want to do them again."

 

Isumi had never been fond of theoretical work, and exams were worse. She'd passed them, but only by enough to put her in the lowest dorm. She was quite good at dueling, although she wasn't convinced by her family's declarations that she could go pro, but the theoretical side was a weak spot for her.

 

"So you're Zeraius, aren't you? Mr. Suddenly Wonderful himself."

"Yep I'm a first year. The exam was so easy. I beat that test deck in 4 turns."

 

He checked his watch. It was 2:00.

 

"My deck is all about ProtoTraps. They were made by my dad. He never realized them. But he gave them to me. This is my fav card. ProtoTrap - Negater."

This card cannot declare an attack. As long as this card remains face-up on the field negate the effects a Spell, Trap or monster Effect that targets a Spell or Trap card on your side of the field.

((I had planned Zeraius to be a second year, but being a third year is fine, it actually works out better so, yeah))

"Yeah, I'm Zeraius. Isumi you said right? And you're... Zack?" He tried to remember the names.

Zeraius took a look at the card he was being shown. He thought about pulling out his favorite card, but decided against it, he was getting ahead of himself. Lumina was starting to get to him.

"That's a pretty nice card you've got there. My entrance exam was really difficult if I remember correctly, though looking back on it now... I misplayed a lot, so that was mostly my fault." He smiled a little at his own expense. He often did so when he remembered his 'bad days' as he refered to them.

As he was walking past, Luc noticed the group of students. His curiosity got the better of him and he decided to see what was going on. "Hey guys, what's with the congregation?" he asked as he strode over, "Something interesting going on?". He paused, "Oh yeah, I should probably introduce myself first," he said in embarrassment , "My name's Luc."

"Hey Luc." Zeraius greeted the new studen.

What did Lumina get me into, jeez, now I have to deal with three people.

Lumina appeared behind Zeraius as if on queue. Zeraius knew not to react, duel spirits weren't something everyone could see, or even knew about for that matter, if he talked to Lumina openly and reacted to her presence, people would quickly think he was insane.

"This is perfect for you! You have 3 potential friends standing right here. You should be happy that I made you walk over here."

Zeraius sighed.

"We were just talking about our entrance exams, and I asked what year everyone was." Zeraius filled in the newcomer.

Luc noticed Lumina, but didn't mention it. "Ah, the entrance exams, that brings back memories."

*has flashback of Blue-Eyes Shining finishing the proctor off on his third turn.*

Luc laughed, "They really need to stop underestimating the applicants." he said. Blue-Eyes Shining appeared behind Luc and growled in agreement. "I'm a second year, by the way." Luc continued. "Though I couldn't have done it without you." Luc thought, after pulling the Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon card from his deck and looking down at it.

More people, Isumi wondered as another obelisk student wondered up. This one she knew by sight, but they'd never spoken before. His name was Luc, apparently.

 

Well this is odd. I seem to have met three people in as many minutes, and all it took was sitting outside.

 

The conversation seemed to have shifted to the practical side of the entrance exam. Here Isumi had done far better.

"So what're you gonna do, girly?" sneered the proctor, "Once you eliminate my face-down monster I'll bring out a creature that will end this duel. You may as well come back next year."

 

Isumi drew a card from her deck and gave a small grin. Just what I needed, She thought to herself. His face-downs could be a problem, so the first thing is to clear them.

 

"I summon Speed Warrior, in attack position," she called. An armoured figure appeared, a mask covering it's face. "And then I I'll activate by Giant Trunade, sending every spell and trap card on the field back to our hands."

 

"That still won't help you. I don't need these things," he taunted.

 

"Well it's a good thing I'm not finished. I play the Field Spell Junk Factory, which gives Junk monsters, like my Junk Blader, 500 more attack." The inside of a factory emerged around the field, and her other monster, a cloaked figure clad in purple armour, seemed almost to grow slightly.

 

"Junk Blader has 2300 attack points now, but I'll give him one more boost. By taking Junk Sychron from my graveyard out of the game, he gets 400 more, and now I'll have him eliminate that thing."

 

The purple figure swung a large blade at the card showing the face-down monster. The faint image of something resembling a pumpkin emerged, before being smashed into pieces.

 

"I warned you, and you still fell for it. Now that Mystic Tomato's been destroyed and sent to my graveyard I get to special summon any Dark monster with up to 1500 ATK from my Deck."

 

"That would be true," Isumi countered, with a smile, "if your monster actually went to your graveyard."

 

"What?"

 

"With Junk Factory in play, I can send any monster my Junk monsters destroy in battle to the bottom of it's owner's deck instead of the graveyard. That means you can't use your Tomato's effect, leaving you wide open. One more thing; on the turn it's Summoned, Speed Warrior doubles it's attack. Looks like I win. Speed Warrior, finish him off!"

 

"Wait! I'm sorry I was mean to you!" The proctor called, but his words had no effect on the holographic figure now bearing down on him.

Isumi decided to introduce herself to the newest arrival. "I'm a second year as well," she said, "name's Isumi. We haven't spoken before though, so it's nice to meet you."

It took a second, but he quickly realised the new student who approached was from Obelisk Blue.

"You're an Obelisk Blue student aren't you? I'm surprise you're over here talking to them. Most Obelisks are stuck up pricks who wouldn't be caught dead talking to Slifers." He asked the Obelisk student.

"But if course, I don't mean that in a bad way towards Slifer students," he clarified, "I hate the dorm system at this school. I think most, if not all Slifer students have just as much potential as any other student, but it never truly shines because they're in Slifer. The teachers and other students just look down on the dorm and see it as luck if they ever do anything smart." He sighed as he finished his pseudo-rant.

He saw the giant dragon looming to the right, he took a double take because of the sheer size, as well as the fact that he saw somebody else with a duel spirit here. Zeraius goes back to continue the conversation after words, trying to play it off.

"I gotta go get something" he said.

 

Zack went to his dorm an pick up is deck and put it in his pocket and grabbed his duel disk. 5 minutes later he came out with a big smile on his face. accept that didn't last long because the sun shot right in his face.

 

"So any of you want to duel?" he asked excitedly.

 

I was Zack's first day and he really wanted to get a duel in the day.

"It's nice to meet you too." Luc replied to Isumi. Then he answered Zeraius' question, "Yeah, I'm in the blue dorm, but just because I have a high rank doesn't mean I look down on people." he said, "In fact, I think Slifer Red students should be honored to be in the dorm named after what is, in my opinion, the coolest of the God cards." Then Luc grinned, "The only thing Obelisk has going for it is my favorite color." he joked, "But yeah, in all honesty, the dorm system really needs to be revised." Then Luc turned his attention towards Zack, "Sure," he replied, "but I'll warn you, you may end up having to face these." he said, holding up the "Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon" and "Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon" cards.

Zeraius was surprised to meet an Obelisk who thought the same way he did, one who could see duel spirits even. This student was very interesting, interesting enough to even duel some time... Not now though. Zeraius wasn't in the mood for a duel today, he felt like relaxing. He had overheard teachers talking about a tournament the school might host coming up. Not like the GX tournament that had once taken place, a regular tournament. He wanted to relax until that came around. Of course however, he wouldn't turn down a challenge. Zeraius was like Jaden in that respect, he would never turn down a challenge directed at him.
