Whether Pluto or Plutus is correct for the God of Wealth, it doesn't change the fact that you called Pluto the Greek God of the Underworld as well, despite all sources seeming to say that Pluto was an entirely different god, thus making this entire argument pointless by now...

Thank you.

Atlas holds up the earth. Ice' date=' your hubris will be your downfall. You can never be too sure of yourself. As ZhaneX said, why not just agree to disagree. If we ever meet again, I'll send you to Hades (the Underworld) where you belong.

[/quote']

ZhaneX also says I'm correct (I think, if I'm wrong, I apologize). Anyways, I could care less if I get sent to Hades. I've been wanting to go there for vacation recently anyways.

You were right, I was wrong. I had read once that he held the earth up, but the source must've been faulty, as it says he bore the weight of the world and held the pillar that held apart the earth and the heavens everywhere else.

-sigh- Ice, I just said that we shoudl agree to disagree and you start the argument anew. I'm telling you what is written in FACT. Pluto and Hades are the same god. He is referred to as two different names, even though most think that Pluto is only the Roman name. In fact, Pluto is derived from the Greek word for wealth, which is my user title. Hades rules the Underworld, as in all that exists below the earth's surface, not just the region we refer to as Hades. Therefore, he is also the God of the Riches of the Earth, thus the God of Wealth. I'm just explaining to you, once again, what is fact. Not opinion. I doubt you have every collection of Greek myth in the world. Pluto is the Greek god Hades, and Pluto is also the Roman god of the Underworld, Hades' Roman counterpart. Now that that is settled, let us change the topic.

The Erinyes torture souls as they walk the earth, and are normally described as in number of threes. What is your opinion on these creatures?

Tartarus is used as a name for the general area of the Underworld' date=' elite. Hades and Dis are used alternatively, and the [b']Greeks referred to him as Pluto[/b], not Hades. And the number of pomegranate seeds Persephone ate and the number of months she's in the Underworld vary between 4 and 8.

You feeling ok? The Romans reffered to him and other gods as planets. Not the greeks. Why would tehy give a god to names? Exactly why didn't they give zeus a "middle name" BECAUSE YOUR FKING WRONG. Case closed. I win. you lose. Now I'ma go get me some cheerios. WITH MILK!

Fixed some errors so he can't use them to counter you. ;D

Anyways, yeah. Night, I love you sometimes.

Night Walker. Prove one source. Anyone prove one source that says that nowhere in Greek mythology does it not refer to Hades as Pluto or the God of Wealth.

Ice' date=' there need not be any fighting. Just leave the argument be. I changed the subject, so why not be mature and discuss the Erinyes?

Wow, yeah, you totally didn't just post asking us to cite 1 source. >_>

@ Fenrir: He thinks that Hades is called Pluto. >_>

@Voyeur: Thank you.

Why not be mature and admit you're wrong. I'm a dick when it comes to Greek Mythology. Deal with it. And on the current topic, Atlas, if I remember correctly, was burdened with the weight of the Sky/Heavens.

And yet, more people to choose to enter the argument. If you could see me right now, I'd be rolling my eyes the hardest I have ever had. We are no longer arguing about Hades. That topic is over, and now, we are discussing the Erinyes, the Greek Counterpart of the Furies.

I personally think these are crucial to some point, especially in some stories, where someone makes such fatal mistakes as thinking they can defy Fate.

I believe that in every school history textbook/book about Greek mythology, Hades was only called Pluto by the Romans, which dicked around and just copied all the Gods from Greece. So I really don't see why there was an argument in the first place.

EDIT: Fate was always a confusing subject.

There was an argument because he thought that Hades was called Pluto in Greece. That's like saying Cronos was called Saturn in Greece. >_>

@Edit: When I first got ino Greek Mythology, it was really confusing. I actually understand it now, but it's still as annoying as ever.
