A devastating 8.8 magnitude earthquake hit Chile early Saturday morning, which has resulted in tsunami warnings for both Chile and Hawaii.

Geophysicists from the U.S. Geological Survey say the earthquake was 700-800 times stronger than the quake that hit Haiti earlier this winter.

A reported 122 casualties have been named, but officials expect the death toll to rise as the day goes on.

Awful.

Aftershocks have been occurring hourly and many Chilean residents at this point are still without power, water and phone service.

Its funny cause I left Hawai'i a few days ago.

Then you get your little wannabe humorous a$$ and come back. Why don't you stand next to me and let me throw YOU into the Tsunami and watch you die. It's not funny.

Ooh and your spelling, stick to the white spelling and spell it as "Hawaii".

I assume your in a bad mood, and this isn't just your usual way of reacting.

OT: The scale is not linear, therefore it can by 700-800 times stronger.

@ Icy: Hey' date=' you and your family alright over there?

No we're not, not at all. And I'm online to try and contact a friend... Who's likely sleeping right now. We all live on the coast (all 30 something of my immediate family). And no way to reach higher ground.

Well hang on over there. Likely the U.S. Army is gonna come and help. Unless their already there.

Also, remember, in New Orleans, they resulted to going ontop of their roofs to find shelter, try that.
