Australia may also be in for a round of ouch.

How? Don't tell me it's going to swing around from Hawaii all the way south-west to Aust. =/

Look at a map >.<

Done. My statement still stands.

Chile (somewhere to the right)

Australia (somewhere to the left)

THEY'RE IN DIRECT LINE.

Even if it doesn't have to pass through Hawaii' date=' the devastation will be cut by 99% before it reaches Aust. =/

[/quote']

2004 tsunami was cut 90% before it hit East Africa. Look what happened. And I'd think Sydney is a little or exposed at that point =P

You can blame the moon fro causing the earthquake

WTF?

Earthquakes happen when tension(I think that's the right word) in the Earth is released.

Yes that is partly right the other part is the moon because it is getting closer it causing the tension in the Earth

If anything, the moon is moving further away not closer to Earth.

Phillipines are already preparing for evacuation. So...

Because the movement of the earths crust isnt a factor right? Or that Chile is on something known as the "Ring of Fire" or possibly because Chile is right on top of the Nazca and South American Plate? Yeah... Lets blame the moon.

Im glad it wasnt one of the "omg look at that 50 foot wave coming to kill us" and it was one of those in and out types. But that was at the beggining thats all I watched on the news. on one of the channels it showed this idiot surfing in the water, the anchor dude said, "I would like to hollar at that man right now, that is the biggest act of stupidity I have ever seen."

-puts on Pat Robinson voice-

Chile was asking for it with their satanic past.[/joke]

But seriously, this is tragic. Chile had better buildings, (actually had building codes, unlike Haiti) so they're more structurally sound, I believe.
