Twin Seed
I plan on my career being in photography. Family portraits and freelance, if you were curious. Do you, YCMers, have any tips for me for taking better pictures? Also, discuss your future or present career.
chairman ali
I'm probably gonna have a career in designing or mechanical engineering. If you want your image to turn out great you'll have to think of a really awesomesauce concept then take a picture if you've found something that suits your concept. Also you can have like awesome images with different lenses and stuff. Lighting is also important. And learn about the rule of thirds.

Dissonance
Composition and lighting are the two single most important things you'll ever need to know as a photographer. Photography as an art form removes the technical skill that is involved in such mediums as painting or drawing, thus, what you are left with is on the purely creative side. Avoid trite themes. Black and white DOES NOT automatically make you a good photographer. Neither does a $700 camera. http://www.facebook.com/#!/group.php?gid=44721096712&ref=ts As far as high school (and under) goes, I cannot count how many times I've RAEGed over the triteness and overall idiocy that is considered "photography" at that level. The above link is to the one high schooler at my school (of over 4200 students) that I consider a good photographer.
