~Makaveli~
Basically Lil Wayne is going to jail for un-licensed gun charges and will be behind bars for 1 whole year... although he is gone he is set to release 3 to 4 more albums before the end of his jail sentence. SO do you fell happy that is if finally out of the spotlight for a while? or are you sad that he will be gone for a lone period of time???

Guest Random Dude
I'm indifferent on ether he's in jail or not. I understand why he would have a gun though, He doesn't want to end up like 2-Pac, and The Notorious B.I.G. Those two I actually found decent. Guest Random Dude
I guess, But most rappers are paranoid of being shot due to gang affiliations.
Yogg-Saron
Happy. [/topic] and why?? Alright.*the following are all opinions*For one, you can't spell crap without rap. Secondly, the pointlessness of the genre of music he specializes in, and yes I understand he has done song genres other than rap, are simply talking. Talking, that is all it is. Anyone can talk, I can talk while I am typing this and is that so hard? No. Lil Wayne constantly brings up issues of sex, drugs, and violence in a negative way. Promoting it. Shoving it onto the plate that society devours up, shitting out the "all hail rap and drugs, violence, and other things related to rap, all hail rappers!" propaganda. This is why he becomes popular, though we cannot change the cycle of society, we can change what is being fed to society. Ever heard of foreign countries saying how stupid us Americans are, well one of the reasons is because we have such vulgar and rude stuff coming out of this steaming pile called society. And do you know why society, including me at times, uses these rude and vulgar messages to get our point of across? You guessed it, Lil Wayne and rappers alike. Now I know someone is going to make a counter-argument to this so to save you the trouble. YES, other genres of music put out the same sheet just in a different tone, but that however does not mean that they are interpreting or "copying" rappers, but merely getting popularity based on the fact that society gobbled up those topics that RAPPERS put out there. BTW, I would love to see someone reply, oh please oh please, make my day :)

BTW, I would love to see someone reply, oh please oh please, make my day :)[/quote'] Oh you can bet i will reply... first off rapping is not a hard skill at all anyone can do it and thats whats great about it. "Lil Wayne constantly brings up issues of sex, drugs, and violence in a negative way." what he dose is he talks about all thee things he experienced every day of his life... he had to sell drugs on the street as a teenager just to make enough money to feed his family.. so there nothing positive about that to talk about.. he had to carry a gun with him incase anther older drug dealer tired to beat him up and takes his money... so theres nothing positive about real rap to talk about... the rappers now have made it an up-tempo kind of style because most rappers cant get anywhere always trying to put out these gangster songs because the public ear has changed and they always dont want to listen to other people pain... Yogg-Saron
Lol, Gangsta Grillz? See that is what I am talking about. So, that is what you see in a rapper, someone giving you the finger that is "gansta"? Sad really. Rappers talking about this "thug" life they had well guess what, why are they putting it out there for us to f***ing see if it is just going to PROMOTE the usage of drugs, violence, and such. I mean why the flip would you put that out there only for kids to copy what you said you did.

Eury
This thread kinda proves you don't need skill to rap. 3 to 4 more albums before the end of his jail sentence. Yeah. If he had talent, it would take him a year to make just 1. OT: I'm glad he's in jail. I hate that guy.

Gogeta™
So you don't know about his albums and yet you've made a strong opinion about him. I strongly recommend you listen to a variety of his songs and I'm sure you'd find something likable. Even you've have listened to him. If he has not talent then what makes him so talentless in your OP.

Gogeta™
If they're trying to encourage people to not do what they did' date=' it's not working.[/quote'] Why is it that people think Rap is the problem? If you really had some good statistics you'd know that its not the music. Very few if any at all do drugs, kill, or rob because they heard a song with such content. Its more about how many people are in a bad surrounding with bad role models such as Parents. There also friends and low education that plays a part in it. Rap has not made a large contribution to its subject matters its just that people like to blame Rap for everything. Even Ice Cube's Raw Footage makes this clear. Everyone wants to say that its Rap Musics fault or its always sending a bad message. Sometimes it is. But NOT always.
White Devil
I think instead of making rap songs about gangsterism to show others what they shouldn't do not to get into s**t, they should just do like in T.I.: The Sentence and take those gangster beginners to see people who were killed in gang fights and tell them that's how they're gonna end if they continue like that into the ghetto life :3 OR MAYBE THEY SHOULD JUST TAKE THEM ALL APART IN A GIANT GAZ ROOM LIKE IN WORLD WAR II AND EXTERMINATE ALL OF THEM IN ONE SHOT SO WE WOULDN'T HAVE PROBLEMS WITH STREET GANGS ANYMORE >=D hurm.. or maybe not :3 ... also... Lil Wayne sucks :
Gogeta™
I know rappers should be more positive but when you think about it, the music kids here generally is on the radio and radio music is basically club hits. Not alot of murder, drugs, and sex is usually Hip-R&B songs not what other raps involves. The thing is, most rap music that has more focus on its negative subject matter is discovered by kids and not heard by them on the radio. Ppl need to start sharing the blame of what goes on and not just saying Rap did it. Parents need to do their job if they don't want their kids listening to something like Rap.
