When this card destroys a monster by battle, the destroyed monster can count as 1 Tribute monster for the Tribute of a monster in your hand until the End Phase. When this card attacks, place negative 1 Compress Counters on this card. When there are negative 3 Compress Counters on this card, increase this card's ATK by 2000. This card cannot be destroyed by battle until this card has 2000 ATK. (Damage Calculation is applied normally.)

 

My opinion is: Awesomesauce idea, taking Counters to a new level like quarter Counters and half of a Counters.[/align]

Pretty pointless effect considering it has 0 base atk. It's effect isnt all that good.

negative? That's either a struggle for an original idea or idiocy o.o

When this card attacks, place 1 Compress Counters on it. When there are 3 Compress Counters on this card, increase this card's ATK by 2000. This card cannot be destroyed by battle unless it's ATK is 2000 or more. (Damage Calculation is applied normally.)

No, not pointless. You lose LP for 3 attacks then it gets 2k ATK and then the effect can take place. Everyone is saying the half counter and quarter counter negative counter is just desperate ideas, but it is not,

It's still useless because of how many times you need to lose LP for it to gain any beneficial effect. I'd rather run some real aggro and a "Spirit Reaper" or "Marshmallon".

 

So the card is useless. I'm being 100% honest in saying that, too. There's just very little to no playability.

 

However, the -1 counters idea is interesting, but going into fractions of counters might need to wait; negative counters are more interesting. If you just invent counters and call then "negative", it doesn't really work. First, we need a useful system based around counters (so improving Spell Counters with support), and THEN we need to add counters that negate any 1 counter of the monster that they are placed on (Just call them Negative Counters, or write "place -1 counters on [insert Card here].").

 

So the mech is interesting, but limited (since counters aren't really used at all). The card you've made just kinda sucks...

No first we'll go irrationals. (I will own you with my square route 5 counters!)

Really, I have only seen two good uses of negatives in YGO. Dark synchro's and other negative lvl monsters, and my negative ATK set that died really quickly. Im just not sure how negative counters would work... 8/10
