Guest
Just a little thing to say to the masses, orginality goes a long way and you will never get good using tutorials. If you wish to actually get better with your tags then you need to practice learning from C4Ds or things will be a lot harder on you, and I do mean ALOT. Yeah anyways just experimenting rough week so nothing completely serious

LiAM
Judging by the thread title, the red is the blood meant to symbolize that they're humans. The grid/ fence effect is possibly meant to reflect being tapped or part of the same structure. The overall image looks slightly odd, but the way you executed every effect is impressive, I can see a lot of good work coming from you later in the future. Good lighting and blending etc, I should read some tut's on how to do that splodge blending effect in the middle.

Thoses were your words' date=' maybe I assumed that you thought i was bad?[/quote'] Opposite actually. Saying that you will produce more good work. Maybe the wording was a bit odd. But it's the thought that counts =D

Dissonance
Just a little thing to say to the masses' date=' orginality goes a long way and you will never get good using tutorials. If you wish to actually get better with your tags then you need to practice learning from C4Ds or things will be a lot harder on you, and I do mean ALOT. [/quote'] I disagree with this statement. While yes, creativity is vital to the process of any art form, art is dual in nature. You cannot properly express your message if you do not have the technical skill required to create what you envision. Tutorials are a great way to "learn the ropes", as it is. Even the great masters of the Renaissance taught their students by simply having them copy their own work, in order to learn the skills they would need to create their own. Pure creativity will only take you so far. Pure technical skill will only take you so far. You must have a melding of the two to truly create art. Now that that is out of the way, the piece itself is very interesting to view. You did a great job at conveying motion with an essentially motionless stock. The grids really add visual interest. Guest
Teaching is different from Tuturials, you could learn alot more from studing psds since they are better detailed, you can unhide and reveal the layers to see exactly what it does instead of just trying to redo what the tutmaker did with a different c4d render or fractal. The point of psds is so you can learn what people do in a more blunt and direct way than tuts since tuts just tell you what to do and don't tell you what a change might do or how it will effect the overall piece. All I'm simply saying is theres a better way to teach yourself than tuturials, and as for the teacher/student reference, that doesn't really work with tuts and people
