[spoiler=chapter 1: An Invitation to KaibaCorp]My name is Joey Wheeler. I am known as 1 of the Top 5 Duelist in the World. 13 years ago, i won 2nd place in the world's largest Private Duel Monsters Tournament, Duelist Kingdom. I lost to Yugi Muto in final round of duel. I also won 3rd place in Battle City, the world's largest Duel Monsters Tournament ever held. I lost to Marik Ishtar, who lost to Yugi Muto. Yugi is now considered the King of Games. Me and Yugi use to be friends until an incident 9 years ago that changed my life forever.

 

I work for Industrial Illusions, a huge Duel Monsters company owned by Maximillion Pegasus. It was the company that created Duel Monsters and started the Duelist Kingdom Tournament. I was recruited a year ago, and as fast as lightning, i was promoted to Head Card Director. Me and Pegasus go way back. Old friends.

 

Nearly every worker there knew who i was the moment i walked into the doors of Industrial Illusions. Senior Card Editors wanted advice from me. I was calling the shots before i was even employed. 2 weeks later, bam! I was promoted to Card Director. 1 month after that, i met up with Pegasus and was promoted again to Head Card Director. My pay is phenomenal. In 1 month, i made more then the President of the United States makes in 2 years! I was getting rich fast.

 

Yesterday, i received a letter from KaibaCorp. Ironically, KaibaCorp was the company that hosted Battle City. The owner, who also shared 3rd place winner, was Seto Kaiba. Me and him have some bad history, but i always pictured him as a friend. The letter stated :

the KaibaCorp Duelist Celebration Ceremony

held at the Kaiba Dome. We would be

honored to have you. Instructions will

be in the Envelope provided.

There was also a paper in the envelope and a Disc labeled "Message for Joey Wheeler". The paper was the instructions :

"Be at the Airport on April 18th, 8 :30 AM

You'll find a KaibaCorp Agent outside the Airport."[/align]

 

I put the disc in my Laptop. Immediately, my screen turned black. 2 seconds later, Seto Kaiba was on the screen. He didn't look very different from the last time i saw him. He then began to speak :

 

"Hey there, Wheeler. It's been a long time.

Let's just cut to the important stuff. KaibaCorp is holding a large Duelist Ceremony for the top duelist in the world. Every duelist you know will attend. Of course, it's not normal to create a Ceremony without a reason. So, just between you and me, there will be a small duelist tournament in the Ceremony. It will be a brutal battle between the best of the best. The winner will walk home with an extremely rare card and to top it all off, the winner will also get 1 million dollars cash.

Listen Wheeler, I've invited you to this Ceremony, so you better come. If you decide to come, I'll have a treat for you."

 

 

My first instinct was to throw the whole thing in the garbage, but then it struck me. Maybe my old friends will be invited. Maybe even Yugi! The 1 million dollar part also lured me. But what really lured me was the dueling tournament. These days, i don't duel a lot. But in my heart, I'm just dying to duel.

 

Today was April 11th, so i have a week to get ready. I went to Industrial Illusions to prepare my deck. So i went to the Card Manufacturer.

"What're looking for, Joey?" said Elma Fudo (My assistant.)

 

" Buildin' a Deck." I said

 

"Oh, i can help you with that! I'm always here helping the Card Makers, so i know where everything is!" Elma said

 

"Thanks. I'm lookin' fer Red-Eyes, but all i'm findin' is these lame hero monsters." I said

 

"Oh those are the new Elemental Heroes were making. They specialize in Fusion. They look weak but they're actually really strong. I made a deck out of them, and its so awesome even though i lose a lot! Sorry, i talk too much.. Red-Eyes is in the Dragon section! Follow me!" Elma said

 

" ... okay" I said

 

We reached the "Dragon Section". It had every dragon! I was amazed at how many rare dragons there were. Card after card, they were endless. Elma walked 5 shelves left and then stopped and scanned the cards for a minute. Then she picked several cards up.

 

"Well, here's the Red-Eyes Dragon set! We got Red-Eyes Black Dragon, Red-Eyes Black Metal Dragon, Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon, Red-Eyes Wyvern, *Stopped to take a breathe, then continued* Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon, Black Skull Dragon, Knight of Dark Dragons, Lord of the Red, Meteor Black Dragon, Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon, and even Red-Eyes Black Chick! There's so many red-eyes monsters. They're so awesome. I loved how you used these in Duelist Kingdom. You're so pro! Oh look, we also have some support-" Elma said

 

Cutting off Elma, I said "Wait! Jus' hold on a minute. Red-eyes has an entire set? I just thought it was 1 card!"

 

"Nope! Didn't you know that? Well i guess a top duelist like you will have too much to think about!" said Elma

 

"Ya i guess... Lemme see da cards. " I said

 

Elma handed me the cards. Some of them were familiar, but others were really weird. Especially that zombie one! I then took a look at Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon, and then at Metal Dragon.. And then at Darkness Metal Dragon... It was all confusing.. I then decided!

 

"Okay i think i got a deck idea. Elma, do you got any Dark Dragons other then red-eyes? Strong ones." I said

 

Elma took a minute to think. She then moved 2 shelves to the right and picked up a handful of cards.... And that's how it started.

 

This process lasted for 3 hours. It was an agonizing process, but i finally got the cards i needed for my new deck.

 

"Thanks Elma! You really are a great assistant." I said

 

"Do you mean it? I.. I..." said Elma

 

She then started blushing and ran away.

 

Elma was a weird person. But i knew she was a good person. Who knows, maybe her son, or grandson, or even her great great grandson might save the world some day. But that's a different story!

 

 

 

[spoiler=chapter 2: Tag Duel with Elma]

So after that, i decided to take a 2 week break. I headed home to edit my deck. I got new clothes and actually took a shower. I was very excited for the tournament.

 

It was 2 days before the Ceremony. I was practicing strategies with my new deck. I was so hungry for a duel that i decided to go to the KaibaCorp Duel Arena.

 

After i got there, i found that hundreds of people were here. Many people knew who i was and asked for autographs. I wasn't too pleased with that. I was never a good celebrity. Security then came and deformed the crowd.

 

I was walking around, hoping to find a good duelist, when i reached an arena. On the right side (RED) of the arena was a blond dude who seemed to be a good duelist. And on the left side (BLUE) was none other then Elma!

 

"I attack Darkfire Soldier with Elemental Hero Stratos! " Elma yelled

 

" I activate Shrink! Now your monster's atk is halved! " Blond Dude replying to Stratos' attack

 

Stratos attacks opponent's Darkfire Soldier and gets destroyed. Elma's LP drop from 700 to 0.

 

"aww... I lost!" Elma said in a sad voice

 

"Great Game! Thanks for duel! " Blond Dude said, trying to cheer up Elma

Elma existed the Arena with a sad look on her face.

 

"Hey Elma, nice dueling!" I replied as she was walking towards to exit door.

 

"Huh? Joey! Oh my god, did you see that?" said Elma with a red face

 

"Yeah. Hey, you seem to be a great duelist! Just gotta watch out for those traps." I said

 

"Thanks. What're you doing here?" Elma said

 

"Well, I'm looking to test out my new deck. Hey! i got a great idea! Me and you can tag duel!" I said

 

"Really? That might be fun! We should! Ya! It might break my lose streak!" said Elma, excited

 

"Where are the tag arenas?" I asked

 

"6th floor, c'mon!" Elma replied

 

Me and Elma went to the elevator and rode to the 6th floor. It had 3 arenas. 2 were occupied but 1 was empty. It was Arena #T-03.

 

" We have to register for a tag duel to find our opponent. Here, I'll register us." Elma said

 

Apparently, there were already 2 registered, waiting for a tag team to challenge them. Fido Reign and and Guido Reign. 2 guys who were brothers.

 

"Yo, aren't you Joey Wheeler?!" Fido asked

 

"Ya" I replied

 

"No way dude! You're Joey wheeler! Dude, i'm such a big fan! Man, I can't believe your my opponent! This is gonna be the best match ever!" Guido said, screaming

 

"Hey, if we win, you give us an autograph, k?" Fido said, challenging me.

 

" Sure. But I'm not one to lose." I said with an eager face

 

Me, Elma and the Reign brothers went onto the dueling arena. Me and Elma were Blue Team and the Reign Brothers were Red. A computer will randomly select a team, and that team decides the order. After a few seconds, the computer selected Blue.

 

"So who starts?" asked Fido

 

"The order will be; Me, Fido, Elma, and Guido." I said, taking leadership of team Blue

 

" Aww, i'm last " Guido said with a frowning face.

 

"Alright! Let's get started!" I said

 

"Duel!" everyone yelled

 

All teams drew five cards.

 

" I draw! " I started (4000)

 

I drew 1 card

My hand had: Axe Dragonute; Dark Horus; Pot of Greed; Gearfried the Iron Knight; Marauding Captain; Monster Illusion *(see below)

"I activate Pot of Greed. This allows me to draw 2 cards." i said and drew 2 cards from my deck

Drew : D.D.R., Foolish Burial.

 

" Now i summon Marauding Captain ( ATK : 1200)! And whenever marauding captain is on the field, i can summon this baby! Gearfried the Iron Knight (ATK : 1800)! Then, I set this trap (Monster Illusion) and end my turn!" I said, ending my turn

 

Fido looked a bit nervous.

 

"okay.. My turn! I draw! I activate this field spell card! Shien's Castle of Mist!" Fido said (4000) while activating a spell card.

 

The arena turned into a gloomy forest with a large castle behind Fido.

 

"Now i summon The Six Samurai - Zanji (ATK : 1800)! After that i activate this spell card, Double Summon, which allows me to summon another samurai. I summon Spirit of the Six Samurai (ATK : 500). And i activate my Spirit's special effect. It merges with Zanji! Now Zanji gains 500 ATK! (ATK 1800 --> 2300). I end my turn by setting 1 card!" Fido said. Both his monsters merged together. Zanji and the Spirit became 1 monster.

 

"okay.. my turn... I draw 1 card!" Elma said as she drew a card.

 

" Not so fast! I activate my trap card! Swiftstrike Armor! Now during my next turn, i can summon the monster i draw!" quickly replying to Elma's Draw Phase.

 

"Okay.. Now i activate this card; E - Emergency Call, which lets me add 1 Elemental Hero from my deck to my hand, and i choose Elemental Hero Burstinatrix! Now i summon burstinatrix! (ATK :1200). I end my turn.." Elma ended her turn. She looked sad because she didn't have much to offer.

 

" Finally it's my turn! I draw! I summon Gladiator Beast Andal (ATK :1900)! Andal, attack Marauding captain! " Guido said with a fire in his eyes.

 

Marauding Captain is destroyed. I lose 700 Life Points (4000 --> 3300).

 

"Then i set this face-down card!" said Guido

 

" Rrrgh. I draw! (Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon). Heh. Looks like its all over for you!" I said with a grin on my face.

 

"What? The duel just started, you can't be serious!" Fido said with a scared look on his face.

 

"Believe it, junior! I activate my Foolish Burial, which allows me to send 1 card from my deck to my graveyard, and i send my Prime Material Dragon!

Now, i activate my set trap, Monster Illusion! Now i can special summon 1 lvl5 or higher monster in my graveyard! And i summon the monster i just sent! Come out, Prime Material Dragon (ATK :2400). But he won't be staying for long, cause now i activate my Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon's Special ability! I can remove my prime material dragon to summon it! (ReDmD : ATK :2800)" I said while summoning ReDmD.

 

"Whoa! That's an awesome combo!" Guido said with amazement.

 

"This is just the beginning, I activate my D.D.R spell card! By discarding 1 card (Axe Dragonute), I can summon my Prime Material Dragon again! And to top this entire combo up, i activate my Red-eye's 2nd effect! I can now summon my Dark Horus (ATK : 3000)!" I said, summoning yet another powerful Dragon.

 

"This is insane man! You've summon 3 extremely powerful monsters in one turn!" Fido said with a really scared look on his face.

 

"It gets worse! cause now i attack! Dark Horus attack Zanji!" I said

 

"Not so fast, i activate my Castle's effect! Your monster loses 500 ATK! " Fido said with a desperate effort

 

Spirit of the Six Samurai is destroyed. Fido loses 200 LP (4000 --> 3800)

 

"Now Prime, destroy his Zanji once and for all!" I attacked.

 

"Heh, you fell for my trap! I activate Sakuretsu Armor!" Guido said, Activating a trap with a nasty grin

 

"Sorry, you activated my Prime Material Dragon's effect! Now by discarding 1 card (Red-eyes Wyvern), i can negate your effect!" I said

 

"Oh no!" Guido said with a scared look.

 

Zanji is destroyed. Fido loses 100 LP (3800 --> 3700)

 

"Red-Eyes, destroy his Andal!" I yelled

 

Andal destroyed, Guido loses 900 LP (3700 --> 2800)

 

" Gearfried, attack Guido!" I yelled, continuing to eat LP.

 

Guido's loses 1800 LP (2800 --> 1000)

 

"Now, to end this! Elemental Hero Burstinatrix, Attack Fido!" Using my Elma's monster, i destroyed the Reign Brothers.

 

Fido loses 1200 LP (1000 --> 0)

 

"We... won?" said Elma with a surprising look

 

"That was so cool! You're such a great duelist! " Fido said to me with a happy face

 

"Oh my God, wait till dad hears that we dueled against a dueling legend!!!" said Guido, excited

 

 

 

[spoiler= Chapter 3: The Mysterious Dream]

That duel really fired me up. There was 1 more day before the Ceremony. I couldn't wait. I was up until 9, and then decided to go to sleep for an early start.

I had a weird dream that night. There was Atem, and Yugi, and 3 other guys. 1 of them sort of looked like Elma. The 2nd guy had 2 different eyes. 1 green and 1 orange. The 3rd was a guy wearing a black mask. Atem then began to disappear, and Yugi then fell to the ground and looked dead.

The guy with the 2 different eyes began to speak. He said, "Only you can save him, Joey! HELP HIM JOEY, HELP YUGI! "

Then he fell to the floor and looked dead too.

Then the guy who looked like Elma began to speak. He said, "Joey! You can do this! Don't fail Yugi! He needs you! You have to defeat the shadows! You have to defeat the beast once more!”

Then he began to fall but before he hit the floor, I caught him.

The 3rd guy with the mask came up to Joey. He spoke, “Hello there Joey. Do you remember me?”

Then he disappeared, but his mask didn’t disappear and fell to the floor. The mask was black, but had 2 different colored eyes. The first eye looked like the eye on the millennium items. The second eye had the Seal of Orichalcos on it.

I looked at the boy in my hands. He looked so dead. Then I heard someone laughing and l looked up.

I immediately woke up after seeing the shadow of something that looked like a snake. It was 4 A.M., I couldn’t sleep anymore. I could barely get out of bed. I managed to get to the kitchen and make myself some coffee. I sat at the kitchen table for 3 hours, thinking about the dream I had.

I then began to get ready for the Ceremony. I got took a shower, brushed my teeth, got dressed, and just before I was about to open the door, it started knocking. I opened it and Elma was on my doorstep.

“Joey, I had a scary dream last night.’ Elma said with a terrified look on her face.

“Are you okay, Elma?” I asked.

“It was about you. I saw everything.” Said Elma

“What are you talkin’ about?” I asked, who was confused and a little scared.

“Joey! I saw a 4 people in my dream. I saw the King of Games. I saw him, Joey. But his name wasn’t Yugi. They called him ‘Atem’. I saw a young boy who had 2 spirits locked inside him. He had 2 different eye colors. He looked so familiar. They called him ‘Yubel’. I saw a man with a face that was covered with a black mask. The mask had 2 symbols on it. The first symbol was the same as the one on Yugi’s necklace, and the 2nd symbol was a green hex. They called the man ‘Dartz’. The last person I saw was you! You had the green hex on your forehead. Joey, I’m so scared!” she then fell into my arms crying.

I was scared. I couldn’t figure out what was going on. How could she know about Dartz and Atem? Who was Yubel?

“It’s okay. We’ll figure this out together” I said, trying to cheer her up.

“Joey, there was 1 more thing in my dream. I saw a boy. He was shining like an angel. But then I woke up before seeing his face. Joey, what do you think this dream means?” Elma asked.

“I dunno, but I have to confess something. I had a similar dream tonight. Elma, why don’t you come inside and we’ll talk over some coffee” I said.

Elma, who was speechless, came inside with me and I made 2 coffee mugs.

“Elma, listen. This dream means something. I need you to explain to me what exactly happened in your dream. It might be related to mine.” I said

“Well, I was in an airplane, and then it stopped moving. A man came up to me. It was that man with the mask. He said ‘Do you know who I am?’ I was too scared to answer. Then he said ‘I can see him in your eyes.’ Then he disappeared and the plane landed in Domino City somehow. I got out of the plane and I saw Yugi. He was talking to that kid with the 2 spirits. Yugi handed a card to the kid. The kid said ‘thanks Atem! But I gotta go, my ride is here.’”

“Atem then vanished into thin air and that kid came up to me. He said ‘Hi, follow me!’ So I did, and he led me to a large dome. That’s when that man from the airplane showed up. He was in the doorway. He said to the kid ‘Thank you, Yubel, you’ve done well. You can go now.’ The kid then vanished to thin air. ‘Who are you?’ I asked. ‘I am the man who is going to save you from him.’ He then walked into the dome. I ran after him and called out ‘Wait, what do you mean?!’ When I got into the dome, there was a loud commotion. That man and you were dueling.

‘It’s time to end this, Dartz! I activate the seal!’ you said and you played a field spell card. It was the hex on that man’s mask. That’s when your forehead started to glow green and you had the hex on your forehead. The man with the mask then disappears, and a boy with 2 shining wings came up to you and that’s when I woke up. Do you know what this means Joey? I’m so confused. Is this the dream you had?” she explained.

I was speechless. I then noticed the clock. 8:30.

“Elma, I think something big is gonna happen. I have to be somewhere, and I think it’s best if you came with me.” I said

“Where?” she asked, still a bit scared.

“We’re going to KaibaCorp.” I answered.

Elma and I got into my car, and I started driving to the airport.

“Why are we going to KaibaCorp?” She asked.

“I was invited to a ceremony there. Apparently the dome in your dream was the Kaiba Dome, where a there will be a small tournament being held there. Elma, don’t you see? You’ve seen a glimpse of what could possibly be the future.”

Elma was astonished. “Joey, I’m so scared.” She said.

Then my cell phone started ringing. I answered it.

“Where are you, mate? You’re 10 minutes late!” the man calling said.

“I’m on my way,” I replied.

“Alright, but hurry” the man said and closed the line.

“Who was that?” asked Elma.

“A KaibaCorp Agent. He’s complaining that were late.” I said.

When we finally reached the Airport, I parked in front of the airport door. 3 men came up to me. They had a KC badge on their black suits.

“We’ll take the car” the first man said.

So Elma and I got out of the car. 2 of the men got in the car and started driving.

“Mate! It’s been a long time, hasn’t it?” The 3rd man, who was wearing shady glasses, greeted me. He looked familiar

“Who’re you?” I asked

“Oh come, mate! Don’t you remember me? It’s me, Valon!” Explained Valon.

“Valon! It’s been a while! How ya been?!” I asked with a smile on my face.

“I’ve been alright. Who’s the chick?” He asked.

“She’s a friend. She’s coming with me.” I explained

“No prob, mate. You 2 are gonna follow me!” he said and we followed him.

He took us to a black car. “Get in” he said and we did.

“Driver, to KC flight 408!” Valon yelled to the driver.

The car started to move.

“Hey, mate, so what’s new?” said Valon, trying to break the silence.

I didn’t answer; I just stared out the window. We reached a small plane that was labeled “Kaiba Corp Jet #408”. We all got out and got on the plane

The plane started lift off.

It's still ongoing. If not today' date=' tomorow, r on weekend, I'll finish 4th chapter.

Don't sweat it man. Say, by any chance, do you happend to need help? I mean, I would like to say I'm pretty adept at Story-Telling, but it would be kind hard to prove though, do to my current star level.
