Alright. I have just one thing to say in this thread.

 

Just because you see a piece of art that is 9000 times better then anything you could do, don't accuse someone of ripping instantly. That is why I suggest that if anyone is caught accusing someone of ripping without evidence to back it up, they should be warned themselves. And by evidence I don't mean "Because it's much better than what they have done before" or "He has ripped in the past". I want concrete evidence. From a dA or something.

Really it's just people being jealous, heck I was accused of Sprite Theft when I first posted a thread here becuase I was unkown(still am) and nobody had seen what I could do.

 

It's also partially based on the rule 'for every good n00b there are at least 10 bad n00bs' to offset the ratio.

Actually, I was the accused. Apparently, no one on this site is allowed to have a deviantart or any artistic ability. You guys should have really put up a disclaimer or something. I didn't know I was supposed to be taking dumps on paper and scanning it in and posting as "art".

Yes, but being merely accusedof ripping sometimes scare people from ever posting their work again, or they are disliked on YCM for a long time. Just for being accused.

Yes, but being merely accusedof ripping sometimes scare people from ever posting their work again, or they are disliked on YCM for a long time. Just for being accused.

 

Not to mention its damn funking insulting to be accused by some smartass of stealing, after working for hours on a piece.

Members do not come to YCM at first to do Graphics. Those that do are generally invited by friends, or veteran Graphic Makers (or whatever you wanna call them); who have nothing to hide and know for a fact that they are not ripping.

I can name examples. And anywho, people may come here for card making, see that there is a GFX section, and start posting. And they may have some experience in the past. I fail to see your point.

Some do. Or at least, they make Cards and then see that there is a Graphics section, and think "Oh, I didn't realise that. Time to put up my dA". I can name examples on that, too.

 

Just because they know that they aren't ripping, that doesn't make it okay that they be accused by smart asses. >_>

I just don't see a reason to put in a drastically suggestive rule. Sure it has merit (definitely more than a members argument on why swearing is OK). But I'll give Yin the heads up on this thread, so she can make the decision. I'd say no to it and just stick to PMing/Reporting these problem members.
