Saiba Aisu
Hello, everyone. So, anyways, I have recently decided to focus on extending my cardmaking work for my current writing project, Days of the Black Apple. In this case, I decided to give you guys a sneak peak at another of the many Japanese-styled cards cards which will be featured in my current writing project, Days of the Black Apple. In a Deck centered around taking and inflicting plenty of damage, Torture Dragon is the Ace Monster of an important character who has yet to be introduced. As always, your comments and suggestions are appreciated. === Torture Dragon (Actual Image Link: http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll217/GXCyber_Star/TD.png?t=1268099185) - Image by Photobucket. Torture DragonLevel 8DarkDragon-Type/Synchro/EffectATK 0 / DEF 01 DARK Tuner monster + 1 or more non-Tuner monstersThis card cannot be destroyed by battle. When you would take damage, you can reduce that damage to 0 and inflict damage to your opponent equal to the amount of damage you would have taken instead. When this card battles with an opponent's monster, destroy that monster at the end of the Damage Step.
ragnarok1945
for the 2nd sentence, I'd limit that to Battle Damage only, or it'd get WAY OPed everything else about the card is just fine, so I'll give this 9.4/
Saiba Aisu
Well, if it only reflects Battle Damage, it's not too powerful, I don't think. This way, it's more of a threat, yes... But it still has plenty of weaknesses, which I will list if you're really interested. xD Thanks for the comment and the high rating!
Zen-Psi
O.O Wow,you further astound me with your greatness! 9/
Saiba Aisu
Haha, thanks very much, Bomber. I'm glad you like it, and perhaps the promotion of Days of the Black Apple with all these cards will result in some new readers!
JIMMYTRON
WHY DO YOU MAKE SUCH EPIC CARDS!!?!?!?!?!??!??! WHY!?!?the effect is sort-of confusing 9/10 (nothing's perfect) ~GREAT JOB...like always
So Legit You Quit
I think it having 0 ATK and DEF is a pretty nice drawback but in my opionion i wouldgive it a special summoning condition, such as requiring aspecific tuner monster. But anyways i think its a pretty amazing card 9/
Saiba Aisu
Ahaha, thank you, Jimmy; I try. I'm glad you like it. And yeah, I know: well-versed in OCG as I am, I just couldn't think of another way to word it. In essence, it reduces all damage you receive and turns it back towards your opponent, if that helps. Thanks for the high rating, as always!
JIMMYTRON
no prob...u are something else when it comes to these cards saiba aisu...and that is a pretty pwnage effect :P lol
Jazin Kay
Image is... the best I've seen all day, actually.
Saiba Aisu
Okay, I will try and address everyone's comments in order, so bear with me! Also... Does someone want to explain to me why they rated my card a 1 out of 5? I only had one rating before this, and it was a 5. Now, it's a 3, and that means that someone gave it the lowest possible rating... T_T @ Sportz: Yeah, I think so, too. Even though it means you'll be inflicting high amounts of damage to your opponent with almost every attack, it can be really dangerous if Torture Dragon's effect is ever negated. As to having a specific Tuner, there is one that goes really well along with it, but I don't think it should be required. Thanks! @ Jimmy: Ah, stop it. You're flattering me! xD I really am glad you like it. @ Jazin Kay: Wow, Jazin; coming from you, that's really something. Hopefully, the next card that I make will feature one of your images. Thanks for the compliment!
Guest JoshIcy
Image is... the best I've seen all day' date=' actually.[/quote'] This. Too bad it's a monster.Yubel Synchro, I like =
T3RA PROWL3R
I would like to know this card's weaknesses.
Saiba Aisu
@ Icyblue: The image definitely looks like a monster, though, so I'm a little confused as to what you mean. xD But thanks. @ TERA: Well, for starters, it's absolutely useless when opposed with Skill Drain. Although it's useful for negating damage and turning it towards the opponent, it offers no protection against cards that return it to the Extra Deck, such as Brionac, which is very popular at the moment. Then there's the fact that Monarchs are currently one of the top tier Decks of the format, and many of them possess effects that can remove this card from the field, such as Zaborg, Raiza, and in Caius' case, even deal 1000 damage. In addition, you can battle this card with Stardust Dragon and once Torture Dragon's mandatory destruction effect activates, use Stardust Dragon to destroy it. And that goes without mentioning the many Spells and Traps capable of taking this card off the field. More comments, please!
T3RA PROWL3R
You should also make a Monster version of Dark hole, which when it is destroyed all monsters on the field are destroyed if you eithera) Discard all cards in your handb) Pay 1000 Life Points. If you do, I would very much look forward to it.
Saiba Aisu
Was that supposed to be sarcasm...? Now that you know the effect, what rating do you give it? Also, guys, along with additional comments, please see if you can't help me make up for our anonymous member's bitter rating of this thread. Thanks! chizuruotohime
Its effects is kinda similar to yubel... this what it should like... This card cannot be destroyed by battle. You take no Battle Damage from battles involving this card. When this face-up Attack Position card is attacked by your opponent's monster, before damage calculation inflict damage to your opponent equal to that monster's ATK. the last effect of yours is way overpowered...at least you want to give it a drawback to make it balanced...
Saiba Aisu
Yeah, I guess it's a little similar to Yubel. And uh, I'm gonna have to disagree a little bit with you on that one, Chizuru - if it doesn't repel effect damage and only inflicts battle damage when attacked by the opponent, it is an incredibly weak card. Still, I respect your opinion.. More comments, please!
-DOOM
it's a more powerful catastor and more powerful Blackfeather Dragon IMO. I like it, but personally i would remove or change the last sentence of its effect. Really good job though^^
Saiba Aisu
Hm, okay, HP Doom. I will think it over; what I really need is a discussion with my friend Funch to get this card's balance in perspective! I'm glad you like it, though. -DOOM
What about this: "When this card battles with an opponent's monster, change that monster to face-down Defense Position at the end of the Damage Step." ???? or make it non-generic, or generic but with 2 non-tuner monsters needed in order to summon it.
Saiba Aisu
Hm, I think I'm going to go with the latter of the two options and make it require two non-Tuner monsters. That generally won't be a problem, anyways, as you can see from Sadist Magician and Demon Life Converter thread, right? /Edit: I took your advice to a certain degree, HP. Torture Dragon now requires the Tuner to be DARK.
Chaos Zarin
This is awesome you should do more cards like it.
