[[Yugioh DBA]] • Sadist Magician & Demon Life Converter •

Hello, everyone. So, anyways, I have recently decided to focus on extending my cardmaking work for my current writing project, Days of the Black Apple. In this case, I decided to give you guys a sneak peak at another of the many Japanese-styled cards cards which will be featured in my current writing project, Days of the Black Apple. This is a further expansion of the Deck in which Torture Dragon will be featured (Tuning Sadist Magician to Demon Life Tokens is actually one of the coolest ways of Synchro Summoning him!).

As always, your comments and suggestions are appreciated.

Sadist Magician

Level 2

Spellcaster-Type/Tuner/Effect

ATK 1000 / DEF 1000

When this card is Normal Summoned or Special Summoned, you can take 1000 damage and draw 1 card from your Deck.

Demon Life Converter

Continuous Trap Card

When you would take effect damage, halve that damage and Special Summon 1 "Demon Life Token" (Fiend-Type/DARK/Level 3/ATK ?/DEF ?) in face-up Defense Position. The ATK and DEF of a "Demon Life Token" Special Summoned by this effect is equal to the effect damage you would have taken. "Demon Life Token"(s) cannot be used for a Tribute Summon or Set. When a "Demon Life Token" is removed from the field, inflict 500 damage to your opponent.

Well, the image credits are listed, Jeovanny. Yeah, 1000 may seem like a lot at the moment, but in the middle of a duel, it's not too much of a price to pay, especially if it's being halved. God knows, Judgment Dragon also has an effect that reduces the player's Life Points, but he's still obscenely broken. And uh, if you liked them, why the 8/10 rating?

And no, I don't do sigs. More comments, please!

Okay, I will try to address everyone's comment one at a time in order.

Bomber: Haha, I am sorry! I'm just trying to promote my fan fic and make some decent cards at the same time! xD Thanks for the high rating.

Sora: Yeah, thanks. They can be used separately, as the Deck has further support, but they're obviously designed to work together in order to summon Torture Dragon much more easily.

Ragnarok: Actually, the effect is fine as it is - if I changed it to "decrease your Life Points by 1000", Demon Life Converter's effect wouldn't activate, and that's the whole point of Sadist Magician.

Thanks very much everyone! More comments, please!

I'll copy and paste what I said to Ragnarok, since you decided to quote her. Thanks for the comment, though! More please!

for the monster card: "you can take 1000 damage" should be "you can decrease your Life Points by 1000"

the trap though looks just fine for the OCG

and neither of them are imbalanced' date=' so they get 8.5/10

[/quote']

I didn't read the whole trap effect, but it should be: '' When opponent is trying to Damage you with an effect, Halve it, and Summon blablabla....'' or something liek that.

Yeah, it's a Tuner. It's a little vague and sometimes difficult to notice, but instead of having the 効果 kanji, it uses the one for Tuner.

And the way it works is like this. Let's say you have Demon Life Converter active, and you summon Sadist Magician, drawing one card and taking 1000 damage. At that point, Demon Life Converter activates, halving that damage to 500; the Special Summoned Demon Life Token would then have 1000 ATK and DEF.

I'm glad you like them, though. More comments, please!

Yeah, Demon Life Converter is pretty useful in more than one way. Apart from potentially halving any harmful damage from the opponent or even damage you inflict to yourself purposefully, it also provides great fodder for Synchro Summons.

Sorry if I wasn't clear enough in the effect, though; I just couldn't think on how else to word it.

Lulz. These can be pretty funny. I'm just trying to find a few more uses for Demon Life Convertor so I can see when it's best used at. But yeah, well done on these. Your cards on some of the best I see on this sight, keep up the good work Saiba.

Yeah, it looks like it could be very useful in some situations, especially in context with a damage-based deck like this. I'd like to think that while it's a useful card, it's not useful enough to have the opponent waste a MST on it. Still, thanks very much, Queen! Coming from you, that's quite the flattering remark. If you get the chance, you should check out my newest Yugioh DBA single, Gemini Devil Sisters.
