I play my Spell and Traps with my left hand out of habit and my Monsters with my right hand out of habit. I made that mat merely because it will make the way I play cards easier. My only problem is if it's legal to have a mat like that because of the cards that affect columns.

Anyway' date=' I play the standard way. But is there a rule of how your field needs to be set up? If not, I'd love to play with a mat like this.

[spoiler=Made by me on Paint in about 5 minutes. I just eyeballed where everything should be so don't complain that some places aren't properly lined up.']2mdgvba.jpg

Looks like you could very easily accidentally knock down your deck, or at least have it occur with much more frequency then the typical "Deck on right hand side" position. While I'm aware you have two arms, a duelist usually keeps a small stack of cards in their hand (tl;dr: A duelist keeps his hand in his hand, lolololo!) You'd only have on free hand, since your other hand is too busy holding your... opening five cards and whatever you can manage on your draw phase.

I'd also have to say that spells and traps placed that way would make it a little awkward to reach for the furthest one. (Not too uncommon to have 4 or more S/Ts, depending on the deck)

Overall, I think that design may be illegal do to the existence of Senets. ( http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Senet ) Though exactly how often do you hear serious discussion about Senets being used in a duel?

I guess I could have the Spell & Trap and the Monster zones numbered or something. That would make it legal.

OMG! I just solved my problem! If I have the zones numbered 1 through 5, they can still be affected as though they were in a colomn! YAY!

When I played LS I separated the cards in my graveyard into different piles.

Pile 1 - LS monsters

Pile 2 - Fairies / Zombies / Flamevells (depending on the variant)

Pile 3 - Stuff that activates from the grave.

Pile 4 - JD, Kristya, Norleras & other bosses (depending on the variant)

Pile 5 - Spells & Traps

This requires a huuuuge table :D

Err, probably my own mistaking since I edited it and you quoted the earlier version, I guess I'll re-say it to draw more attention to it:

"While I'm aware you have two arms, a duelist usually keeps a small stack of cards in their hand (tl;dr: A duelist keeps his hand in his hand, lolololo!) You'd only have on free hand, since your other hand is too busy holding your... opening five cards and whatever you can manage on your draw phase."

Because you're holding your hand, you're not really gonna have a free hand to be able to readily activate or move monsters and s/ts.

I place my hand into my left hand while playing a Monster and my hand into my right hand while playing Spells and Traps.

I put my cards in hand on the clip that's on the left side of my steer, especially when my auto-pilot's off.

Fi - 5MO - De -RFP

Fu - 5ST - Gy

---Hand-

My RFP's half under my DADmat, name to the right. Apart from that, I use a notepad for LP and dice for turn count.

1. Proof

2. I have only used it while playing casually with friends so it doesn't matter :P

Tables at my locals are barely big enough to duel on, so I can't do that.

Doesn't matter how often it's run, it's possible, therefore it's illegal to separate your graveyard like that since it's impossible to determine the bottom monster. The loophole with Senet cards is you number the field since each number would correspond to a column.

Me...and it is not the card but a remainder of a rule that says the order of the card in a graveyard cannot be altered.

AND the way manji separate his monsters in 3 piles makes question really close as a generic revival coz it makes it harder to guess which card was sent first in the same place.

Someone at Ukaypro championships played question in his lightsworn deck, because of this everyone had to play with their graves above their deck to make sure they didn't reveal tech cards from any one individual's deck while still preventing that one person potentially cheating by being able to easily switch the bottom monster while using the deck as a shield from his opponent's eyes.
