These are those evangelical sorts and the preachers who go to other countries and ruin people's lives as such. Now, if you're simply someone who believes in God and religion, well there isn't anything wrong with that. That doesn't hurt anyone. Not until you cross the line into the aforementioned idiocy. Little things like that are more guidelines for beginners. As one develops a written voice, such rules can be bent for rhetorical effect, eg, starting a sentence with "and" or "but".
