cerberus21
According to wikipedia: "Grunge (sometimes referred to as the Seattle sound) is a subgenre of alternative rock that emerged during the mid-1980s in the American state of Washington, particularly in the Seattle area. Inspired by hardcore punk, heavy metal and indie rock, grunge is generally characterized by heavily distorted electric guitars, contrasting song dynamics, and apathetic or angst-filled lyrics. The grunge aesthetic is stripped-down compared to other forms of rock music, and many grunge musicians were noted for their unkempt appearances and rejection of theatrics." Basically, Grunge was a more raw form rock that stepped away from the homo-erotic tendencies of 80s hair metal. Discuss Grunge music, favorite grunge bands, songs, etc. My favorite grunge band definately Nirvana. My favorite album is either Nevermind or In Utero, with my favorite songs being "Even in His Youth", "Territorial Pissings", "Pennyroyal Tea", and "Rape Me". I also Alice in Chains and Bush, but Nirvana takes the cake imo.

Where are my COOKIES
I didn't know Bush was Grunge. I always thought it was Alternative, but that Kind of relates back to Grunge. I like The Offspring, Stone Temple Pilots, Bush, Alice In Chains, and of course Nirvana (Pearl Jam is ok).Although, Of the Alice in Chains songs I've heard, the real Grungy one is "Man in the Box". TAlso, The Offspring's singer sounds like Cobain (Is it just me?) and I think they might of done that on purpose. So my favorite radio channel is Lithium on Sirius XM. cerberus21
^Looooove Lithium Channel!!!! And Bush is sort of borderline Grunge, but so are the Offspring, in my opinion. I've always considered them to be more punkish.
Where are my COOKIES
Yah, the Offspring songs I've heard get Grungy at the Chorus. The verses are kinda like Nirvana though. Strange that The Offspring sounds like Nirvana.
