[insert name prefix here] Dragon. Massive ATK synchro with a drawback.

Don't like the name. I picked it because the monster gets bigger in one sense, while getting smaller in another. Still doesn't seem to quite fit, though.

Quantum Dragon

Dragon/Synchro/Effect

1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters

This monster's Level is unaffected by the effects of any other card. This monster's ATK is divided by its Level. Once per turn, during either player's turn, when this monster battles, you can reduce its Level by half. Once per turn, during either player's turn, if this card would be removed from the field, except as a result of battle, you can double this monster's level to have it remain on the field (This monster's Level cannot exceed 128 ).

 

Other names I've been tossing around are "Ether Dragon", "Particle Dragon", "Compression Dragon" and "Sunfire Dragon". I need something that references his nature of getting stronger, as he gets smaller.

 

The level limit of 128 seems a little odd, but 6400 divided by 128 is 50, and there's a sort of unwritten rule that a monster's ATK should never be lower than 50.

 

When it hits the field, it only has 800 ATK, so you'll have to keep it alive for a couple turns before its raw power can take over.

 

I'd love some feedback, pic suggestions, and a little help with naming. So, what do you think?

Neutron Star Dragon?

A neutron star has about twice the mass of our sun, despite being roughly one one-hundredth the size of our moon. The massive gravitational force, in contrast to the miniscule size, seems to fit quite nicely.

 

Surprised I didn't think of that earlier.

Neutron Wyvern? Just seems concise and less generic as a name. Not that generic is bad at all times, but rarely seeing a Dragon that isn't "[x] Dragon" wares thin.

Go the Yubel route - look up "Neutron Dragon" in German, then mangle it.
