This card is also treated as a Machine-Type monster. This card cannot be Special Summoned from the Graveyard, except by its own effect. When a Machine or Warrior-Type monster you control would be destroyed by battle, you can Tribute this card instead. You can Tribute 1 Level 5 or higher Machine or Warrior-Type monster you control to Special Summon this card from the Graveyard.

I'm not crazy about the name either. Maybe Lancer, rather than Spearman, since that looks more like a lance he's holding anyway.

 

The effect is pretty good, I suppose. Is good protection. 8.3/10.

shame it has no effect while on the field other that destroying itself to save another monster, you should give it another effect, and then you'll be good to go
