Now let's have a nice talk about religion

Actually' date=' we've spun this thread way out of proportion. It was supposed to be a thread where you 'share' what your religion and idealogical beliefs are. But it's hilarious that this wasn't locked by Icy. Since he has his views that all religious threads lead to flaming, and this was no exception. Sure, it started out okay. But it lit on fire pretty easily, now didn't it? I agree that religious threads should be locked because of flaming, but he was stupid in this instance for not seeing that this would become a generic religious thread.

you're the one using the BS siren

The what now?

I quote those idiots who believe the holocaust never happened and the flat earth society.

Were those people seriously atheists? I doubt it, but I could be wrong. Atheists 'believe' in what is proven to be fact or has enough (factual) information to convince them that it's probably fact. And we have already proven that the holocaust was real and the earth is round.

But likewise, there is still a group of people who believe in the geocentric theory. Morons. :/

Anyway' date=' I don't belong to any groups. I don't believe in God, or any other higher diety. But I'm not against them. I don't frown upon anyone for believing in them either. In my eyes, they're imaginary friends. Those higher dieties serve the same purpose as them. I don't bash on religions, I'd just prefer for them to leave me alone and not exist at all. But when someone tries to force a religion on me, or some religious stuffs, I provide scientific facts as to why it doesn't exist or not possible.[/i']

This also applies to me, or at least in terms of my ideaology. The problem is that, don't you get pissed when religious people refuse to believe scientific fact? Or when they attempt to change your education by teaching (micro)evolution as an opinion?

No. Because I know what I know. It's fact, whether they choose to believe it or not.

You'd give a damn less if religion is influencing your education, and possibly could go as far as to influence your government?

I think it's hilarious that the only hostility in this thread is the byproduct of trying to prevent hostility on YCM.

Anyway' date=' I'm christian, but I follow my own interpretation of the bible and don't believe I need a man in a robe to tell me what the book means, nor do I believe in the concept of different sects of the same religion.

[/quote']

By sects, you mean Catholocism, Orthodox, etc? I think it's pretty much how they wanted it to work, to have a few slight changes and sort of have options as to how you specifically want to interpret and choose how you want to live in that faith, but I'm mostly indifferent about the different sections of religions.

I'm Christian. I don't hate, bash, or condemn athiests (though I haven't communicated with any), I sort of respect it, that other people just believe differently. That other people believe differently, and that is common.

On a side note, at some point religious threads are going to be banned. Then Dark will be pissed.

I don't pay attention to the government and religion isn't affecting my education. So, simply put, I don't give a damn.

Hows about this. All of you learn to grow up. Even scientists know that fact is merely statements proven to be true 99.99% of the time. And if the 0.01% of the time something different happens then it is true for said groups of people because they need more than your "factual" statements, or rather "Events that have been proven to occur in the same way a majority of the time". So shut up.

I envy those that believe in a force greater than we are. They don't feel so alone all the time.
