Plaguespreader Zombie
“We're all just puppets on strings” In a fictional medieval France, this story follows a young child named Ciel Croix, only around 12 at the start of it, a puppeteer in training, he spends his time around the theater in his hometown of Seine, training to be a puppeteer, to follow in has father's footsteps, until he witnesses his father's death right in front of him, he was killed by a rogue band of bandits who used the puppets that Ciel had come to love for evil. Of course, the boy loved puppets, but he had no idea of the power they contained. The puppets had a special ability in each one, their power immense, strong enough to equivalent the sharpest sword in the world. After the death of his father, he had to leave his home city due to not being able to pay for his living any longer. After 2 years of living on his own or with the shelter of the kind residents, however, he came to another city known as Gekijou. In this city, there lives an grand puppet theater, known as, unoriginal at that, the “Grand Puppet Theater”, a huge tournament where puppeteers everywhere have been gathered to challenge their strength, a now 14 year old Ciel competes in the tournament, with his father's prized puppet, whose power is the ability to create large spider webs that constrict or trap the opponent, he called this puppet, “Puppet Web”
“Father!” A boy garbed in nothing but rags sat on his knees in front of the impaled body of his father, killed with a large, white cross. “Father!” “Tch, a nuisance.” A man holding onto the strings of a puppet stood behind the cross, “Your father's dead, kid. Get out.” The man yelled at the boy with no feeling at all, the boy continued to just sit there, tears rolling down his cheeks. “Wake up!” The boy pictured before, except a few years older, awoken, he was lying on the floor in an old house. “So-Sorry, Madam Terra.” The boy spoke in a soft manner, and sounded genuinely sorry, much unlike the adolescents of today. “No matter.” The girl, Terra, yelled back at him in a much different and loud way than how he had spoken to her. “Alright, Ciel, it's time to get to work. I said you could live here under the condition that you would work for a living.” Terra looked no older than young Ciel, and was only 15 of age, a brunette too. “Yes, Madam.” Ciel was still tired, but managed to stand up anyway, and he quickly got to work cleaning up the old house. He was used to being the only one cleaning, for at his old home, his father was always too busy in his puppeteer work to clean, and he had no mother. After around an hour or so, he finally cleaned most if not all of the very large house. “Madam Terra, if my services are no longer required for you, may I step out into the town?” Ciel asked, with a very happy expression on his face. “Alright, you may be excused.” Terra told the young man, with a bored expression on her face, almost a complete contrast to the happy Ciel. “Thank you madam Terra.” Ciel happily left the rusty building and left the door to explore the town which he had earlier discovered on his travels, well, if you could call his exile from his home city of Seine that. “Ahh, it's so nice to finally have a place to call home again.” Ciel looked at the marvel known as the great town of Gekijou. Ciel had met a few people already, but didn't really look at the town much. Soon after his explorations, he found a flier, he read it aloud, being uneducated growing up in a rural area, he wasn't that great a reader, but he was a good enough reader to be able to read the words written on the flier. “Grand Puppet Theater” “Puppet...” Ciel tried to get the nasty image of his father's death out of his mind, and focused more on what was written after the words. “Come to see the world's most masterful puppeteer's fight against each other in a grand battle tournament. Winner takes $100,000,000.” Ciel reread the entire thing once more. “Winner takes $100,000,000” “Oi! Madam Terra would be so pleased if I win that much money, that's amazing!” Ciel yelled aloud without a care for the awkward glares, “I have to enter!” Ciel then took a moment to think, entering this would show approval for puppet battling, he could never do that. However, on the other hand, it would also defeat the puppet battlers and force them to stop battling. “What to do...” These words ran over and over again in his mind, until he finally decided. “I have to enter this tournament, it would finally pay off my debt to Madam Terra for allowing me shelter in her beautiful home.” Ciel exclaimed with much glee. “It'll just be simply perfect, with my father's puppeteer skills in my blood, there's no way anybody could stop me.” Ciel sported an even happier expression on his face then when he spoke to Terra this morning. “Now, I just have to register at the theater. The address for registrations is 42 Midnight Street, that's just around the corner....” Ciel was lost, obviously, but after a halfhour, he had finally arrived at the registrations, it was much smaller than he envisioned in his head. “Hello~?” Ciel said happily as he pushed the door open gently. A red-haired man, probably not more than a few years older than Ciel was just finishing up his registration, so it was a perfect time for him to show up. He passed the red-haired man on his way towards the registration, “Guess we're opponents, eh?” Ciel winked jokingly at the man, the man gave a little smirk but didn't say anything as he walked out of the building. After Ciel signed up for the Grand Puppet Theater, he went back to tell Terra the good news. “Madam Terra, I joined the Grand Puppet Theater. I'm going to try to win with Web!” Ciel shouted happily at Terra. Web was his father's prized puppet, and one of the few mementos of his father's life. “You're still in training, Ciel. You think a Puppeteer in training could defeat some of the most powerful puppeteers in the world?” “Oh well, I was basically just going to luck it and hope I get some easy opponents, while the stronger ones take care of each other.” Ciel spoke oblivious to the dangers in Puppet Battling. “You really are clueless, aren't you?” Terra sighed angrily at Ciel, but there was nothing she could do, he had already registered, it was best just to hope he knows what he's doing and just doesn't get himself killed in action. “Coming Soon, Chapter 1 ~The Lovely Mistress, Mira Étoile~ Does Ciel know of the consequences of those who lose in Puppet Battling!?”
