-Griffin
I find a CCG with no/minimal dueling pointless. You only post a card, get a 'yes/no', then see it on a list. For all it's worth, you might as well just post it in Realistic as a separate thread and have some 'Best of Realistic' thread that just lists nice cards. The point of a Custom Format, in my eyes, is to play a Custom Format, not to just sit and stare at it like some old darts trophy collecting dust. Morgan LeFlay
That's true, but it's not necessary for everyone who contributes to duel. I only personally have 2 days off per week. I'm also now working on YVD X. Plus I have other things that I want to do, and am still in the XCG another project that I don't have time to duel for. To expand on how the XCG does things, they have a limit on how many cards they can submit (also limiting certain other factors) but there is no 'yes' or 'no' really. The only cards not accepted are those deemed unrectifianly broken from the start, and then the creators can change them again before set is finalized
-Griffin
If you can't duel, you don't have to. I'm really looking for people who have the time to spend dueling and working on getting good sets. If you don't have that time, don't feel pressured to join the project because you worked on older versions. From the looks of it, you've already got your hands full enough without having to work on this too. I want to be able to have enjoyable tournaments, and even slightly OP'd cards can push a Deck to get overplayed in a tourney, so I'm going to be reasonably tough on balance, and I don't want to accept useless cards. As my signature says, nothing should have useless parts.

From the looks of it, you've already got your hands full enough without having to work on this too. I wouldn't mind joining but there's always certain issues that I disagree with in these projects. In this case it's the forced duel to submit aspect and the fact that the person in charge may reject a card because it's too weak. I want to be able to have enjoyable tournaments, and even slightly OP'd cards can push a Deck to get overplayed in a tourney, so I'm going to be reasonably tough on balance, and I don't want to accept useless cards. To compete in the TCG if we are using TCG cards, new submissions have to be somewhat good to compete. Also not many cards out there are completely useless. I've tried before to run it with it being a soft-requirement, and people made every excuse to just post cards and hope everyone else would duel with them, only 3 people really dueled. I would love to be able to let people just submit whenever, but in practice that will mean nothing but submitting. It's "You must duel" or "We'll duel... later", and the second just never works out. Well, I think we'll only be taking a select number of cards from the TCG. And I know not 'many' cards are completely useless, but I want cards to be at least runnable. If someone makes "x" support, but Deck "x" has a better option or would just never find space, then I'd rather avoid the clutter. I won't say, "if it doesn't make the Deck tier 0, it's not allowed", but usable is a must. Morgan LeFlay
I probably won't comment on your card choices...just seems like random pickings or something, I dunno.. Anyway I think there should still be a small minimum like 5 cards or something for those that didn't duel.
-Griffin
That could work, although 3/4 is more likely.

-Griffin
Of course there can be themed Decks, but people will have to submit them. There's simply no TCG themed Decks. Thought of any list changes? The s/t section is a bit barren. Shallow Grave? Dark Core? Dragged Down into the Grave? Machina Fortress? Sacred Phoenix of Nephys? Divine Sword - Phoenix Blade? Escape from the Dark Dimension? Reverse Trap? Robbin' Goblin? Good Goblin Housekeeping?
Morgan LeFlay
I guess it's certainly an interesting idea to just pick and choose. It's a certain medium between using no cards from the TCG (like the old YCCG and XCG) and a project that uses all TCG cards and follows the TCG banlist except editted for the cards they add to it (like the ICCG on xerocreative) Personally if there are no themes in the beginning duels are gonna be boring and people might not wanna play with a limited card pool. You have already seen that happen in the first project. Another barrier is that no one ever goes on the IRC so we won't really connect to duel except by tournaments. -Griffin
MSN is a good way to connect, as are simply chatrooms like Chatzy or whatever (while less advanced than IRC, more user-friendly). No themes might not seem fun, I admit, but that's why I think I'll allow the 4 cards to be submitted before dueling, plenty for a theme. (And about half of these were taken from a highlander Deck I run. These Yusei-styled Decks are fun in my eyes. Just because themes aren't spelled out in the names like archtypes doesn't mean you can't make a Deck from these.)
Morgan LeFlay
Are we going to allow cards exclusive to the yugioh anime, or yugioh video game cards? What about pop culture cards?

-Griffin
No Pop Culture. People can submit cards from the TCG/OCG/Anime/Games and they'll be accepted under the same criteria as any other card would be.
