Malombine - Tetch Archer

This is my first try at card making. I think I did fairly well and am pleased with the results. Please, All Constructive Critisism is welcomed.

When this card is Normal Summoned or Flip Summoned, your opponent must select one Monster Card in their hand and discard it. If this card attacks a monster in Defense Position, that monster is destroyed and this card loses 200 ATK.

When this card is Normal Summoned or Flip-Summoned, your opponent must discard 1 Monster Card in his/her hand. If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, destroy the monster immediately without flipping it face-up or applying damage calculation and decrease this card's ATK by 200.

First, RFCE stands for Reason For Card Effect

 

I designed Malombine to be an archer who hides in the trees picking off enemies while the rest of his team distracts them. The discarding is the very first opening strike that happens froma hidden source. This card can destroy monster that are trying to hide in defense position because I consider them to not be moving, thus, easier targets. And he loses ATK for destroying cards in defense (And probably should for destroying any card, but I thought that may underpower it a little) because he is losing aenergy for finding a new spot to shoot from or enemies are starting to pinpoint him. He doesn't lose DEF for the same reson because if he's hiding they can't find him near as well. I didn't want to overpower him by putting too much DEF because he can hide well though.

I don't think "deservative" is a word, but Shakespeare invented thousands, so you can have that one.

 

You can also have a 9.4/10 rating, 'cuz this is really good. Especially for a new member. The only error I see is that "choose" should be "select" to match Original Card Grammar.

Really? Huh. Well I learned two things from your post.

 

1. I get to create words.

2. Choose should be Select.

Nice card for a new member! Discarding cards is big in my opinion, and I don't think it has enough of a drawback. I could play this card on my first turn and discard my opponent's card freely. Other than that, it's a good card. 4/5

Ah so I was going a whole different route with my effect that I should have? Hmm. I think your right about the whole discarding thing, but if I added a drawback on the discard itself it wouldn't suit the card. And it needs more ATK for the effect... I might just leave it as is, but I'll keep thinking.

 

I'm going to update the pic but have an 'Original Card Lore' Section and a section that shows the one used on the card.

Hmm...intriguing card. Other than the fact it is the first well-made card I have seen made by a first-timer, it presents some opportunities. Also, I find no issues with the OCG (after Lord Smeargle's observation) and the card's pic, effect, and name mesh nicely. Why, though, did you call it "Tetch Archer"? I could understand if Malombine is the name, but what is the meaning behind the next part?

Well, whatever. Overall, it's a nice card.

Why did I call it Tetch Archer..... I don't know. Maybe it's because I like cards like that. Maybe it helps present that there is a team fighting with it. What it does do is easily give me a chance to create the rest of it's team, and I kind of liked the word I made to use. Tetch. Is that a word?
