Effects not bad, but is his weak attack worth it?

His defense is only enough to block anything as strong as celtic guardian.

 

I don't get why this card was made, even for back then.

Back then, Exodia was used a lot.

Back then, Celtic Guardian was not seen as sheet.

This can still be randomly lulzy. A free draw for doing any damage...

Well, what kind of deck should i put it in?

Back then, the game wasn't filled with draw cards, not counting Pot of Greed and Graceful. A normal monster with 1800 ATK was the norm for beatdown decks. Equips were run a lot. Exodia was useful. It's a draw for any amount of damage.

 

Dekoichi was a pretty huge card only a few formats ago, so this was probably not that bad of a card back in the day.

I'd rather use Yamata Dragon.

So, I now understand he was used for exodia, but still, he's weak, for now at least.

 

Surprisingly enough i still use my exodia deck.

Even in non-Exodia, drawing a card added speed to a deck, and early in the game, there wasn't nearly as much draw and search power as there is now. Add equips to this, and you'll get something strong that'll let you draw every time you deal damage.

 

In the modern day, this card is pathetic.
