Why Love is a Mental Disease.

Disagree' date=' sounds like the kind of crap someone would spout just because they can't get a girlfriend.

This, even though BTM would be correct under the assumption that he feels no emotions.

Then according to this, all emotions are a disease? Because they all cause you to feel something that isn't physically there, just like love.

As long as it keeps the brain from functioning properly, then yes, all emotions are a disease.

Did you disregard what I said? The part of your brain that processes emotions can be removed, but you will still show basic emotions. And you actually function less than normal. How can it be a disease?

Emotions are basically switches in your head that are completely under your control, at least that's the way I see it. For example, you can feel absolutely nothing emotionally when someone breaks something that belongs to you or you can be pissed off, it's simply a matter of choice and self-control.

You can put up a fake emotional front and trick someone into thinking your feeling something or nothing whenever you like, love is no different.

You can't help but feel emotions; your only choice is how blatantly you show them outwardly.

Eh...this reminds me of "Inner beauty is the excuse of the beautiful and the hope of the ugly".

..."Love is a mental disease, an excuse/hope for the ones who don't find it?", how about that?

^I'd say an excuse for the ones who fail and need some pity/acceptance but then I'd strike people again for being mean...sometimes.=D

I'm not agreeing with this, it's just some funny group name in French I found on Facebook, and I LOVE inner beauty and love but it just shows me how people try to compensate their failures with something for their favour. Instead of admitting that they suck, they try to excuse criticism from others by thinking there must be something special about them and the others just don't understand.

As for the absence or always controlling emotions, I think it's similar to the absence of thinking about anything. How can you not do/feel anything, your mind is never 100% laid to rest until you're dead. You're always doing or feeling something, even indifference or distance towards the surroundings can be an emotion even if you don't perceive it as such.

I understand where you're coming from but the argument just doesn't stand well.
