Cloister Posted May 6, 2010 Report Share Posted May 6, 2010 [align=center] So here is my new archetype. Their names are composed of the word "Demon" followed by a number of letters. Some names are fusions of "Demon" and an already existing word. Their Attribute is DARK and they are all Fiend-Type monsters. Here for the special part: The monsters have ? as ATK and ? as DEF. But they are treated as the have NO ATK and DEF (not meaning 0) so they cannot gain or lose ATK and/or DEF and can therefore not be used to inflict damage based on their ATK/DEF. They cannot attack or be attacked which makes your opponent able to attack you directly and you could easily lose Life Points. They cannot be destroyed by battle but they can still have their effects negated and be destroyed by Spell and Trap Cards. I have now made about 25 of them and I might make some more. I will post all of them so be sure you check this out once in a while if you like them to see the updates and the new cards. LATEST CARDS: This card is treated as it has no ATK and DEF. This card cannot be attacked. If you would take damage, you can activate 1 of the following effects: * Discard 1 card and halve the damage taken. * Add 1 Level 4 or lower DARK monster from your Deck to your hand. * Change 1 monster your opponent controls to Defense Position. Your opponent cannot control monsters with 2000 ATK or more. Once per turn, if a monster would attack directly, you can negate that attack. If you control a face-up non-DARK monster, destroy this card. Activate only when a DARK monster you control would be destroyed. Tribute 1 monster that is treated as it has no ATK and DEF to Special Summon the destroyed monster. [spoiler=Monsters (4)] This card is treated as it has no ATK and DEF. This card cannot be attacked. You can Tribute 1 face-up "Demonio" or "Demonie" to halve all damage you would take this turn. This card is treated as it has no ATK and DEF. This card cannot be attacked. When this card is destroyed, add 1 each of "Demonia" and "Demonio" from your Deck to your hand and discard 1 of them. This card is treated as it has no ATK and DEF. This card cannot be attacked. Each time your opponent Normal Summons a monster, you can add 1 Level 4 or lower DARK monster from your Deck to your hand. This card is treated as it has no ATK and DEF. This card cannot be attacked. usetheforcehan Posted May 6, 2010 Report Share Posted May 6, 2010 Not to useful imo. A monster, no matter how weak it is, can be used to tank your opponent attack and stall their Duel progress. This 'Demon' archetype is nothing but an 'accessories' if you manage to Summon it on the field. You will be massacre by your opponent, especially the one with Rush Deck, Beat-down Deck or Swarm Deck because you have no defense whatsoever. You should make this cards have a Continuous Effect to balancing its drawback. In short, its UP'd. But because it's an original effect, i'll gives you a higher score (because an original effect is YCM is a freakin' RARE). 8/10. ;) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

usetheforcehan Posted May 6, 2010 Report Share Posted May 6, 2010 I come up with 3 possibility to balance this Demon Archetype: 1. Make them have a Continuous Effect.2. Create a Continuous Spell/Trap or Field Spell to support this Archetype (something like: 'The opponent's monster can't inflict damage to the player directly.' Because your opponent's monster cannot attack you directly AND cannot attack any 'Demon' monster you control, you're practically invincible!)3. Support them with other 'Demon' monster. I hope it help! :) PS: One more thing, it would be better if you change the lore into: 'This card cannot be attacked. That's like eating an apple and afterwoods coming to the conclusion that "Eureka moment..! Apple tastes like Apple!". By the way, normally when a monster has ? ATK and/or ? DEF, there is a way to increase the ORIGINAL attack or the ORIGINAL defense of the card, normally by removing monsters in the graveyard. but there is no point in the ? ATK and ? DEF in demondra because it has no effect of its own that increases its ORIGINAL stats. I am just too lazy too fix it, but I totally understand what you mean and I agree. But since YOU know their effects that they have in common, I don't really see the problem. However, if you were to add cards that depend on your opponent attacking you directly and causing deck destruction/ life points annihilation, i could see a great potential in this concept. I would suggest a trap that either deals damage or forcing your opponent to discard for the number of cards on the field and other cards that lock spells. Or maybe even a field spell that is specific for this deck that inflicts damage or deck destruction when a player attacks directly.8.2/10 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
