Ras's first crystal beast deck

Yes, i think crystal beasts are gem beasts in the jap anime. I might sumit this deck to the ygo world mag if i can figure out how,XD.

anyway, this is my current tornament deck, but i have yet to go to a tornament with it. Ironic? well, Ive experimented a bit, and have come to this. Improvements welcomed. And if you think it will make the deck better to scrap the rainbow dragons, then if you list suitable replacements I will try it out, i am willing to make nearly any changes, just not something like -all cards + perfect circle monarch or something

With only 2 traps in the deck, jinzo works wonders, while Raizas fit well, even if i have only played a bit with 2 of them.

Nice, although I don't think you have enough copies of each CB to warrant the use of not only 1 but 2 copies of the Rainbow Dragon.

 

I see where you're coming from with merchant, but with me it's always been an all or nothing thing, I'd suggest using 2 or 3.

 

Also, the extra 4 cards aren't necessary I'd try to minus off a few things. Although I suppose you'll be drawing quite a bit.

You might be tempted to use that Mellon since I'm assuming you've just got it, but I don't know how good it'll be in this deck. Although, I DON'T KNOW how good it'll be so I guess if you haven't had any trouble with it than don't worry about it.

 

If you wouldn't be too bummed, I really would scrap the Dragon, possibly side it if you really have to. But unless you use at least 2 copies of each card (possibly 1 copy of a single CB wouldn't be so bad) the RD will almost always fail in my experience.

 

 

Have you tried the Rescue Cat w/ 2 Amethyst Cats?

It works really well if you have 3 copies of Amethyst and 2-3 copies of RC.

If you happen to draw into 2 copies of AC you're kinda screwed, but most of the time, you'll either be able to use it correctly and get 2 CBs out, or you'll be drawing so much already that it will just be a minor inconvenience.

 

Also, the 1 Cyber Dragon seems a bit random, but I've never used Raiza w/ my CB deck (mostly because I don't have 1 XP) so I can't say if it works for you. But with my CB deck it seems like I almost always have a monster out, so it's effect would be void most of the time.

 

CB decks are, in essence, Combo decks, and with all combo decks there's a chance things could go horribly wrong, and I guess in those circumstances, it would be desirable to have a back up dragon waiting to win you back the advantage.

I dont like rescure cat,XD.Through past experience, Its fine using 1 of each beast for Rainbow dragon, unless one goes out of play, but otherwise it has allways worked for me. I get them with peagus effects or such. But yeah, at my local tornament they do 2 tornies on one day, so one time ill run this build, and then the second with a few of the edits mentioned on this board of mine, and see what works best.thanks for the advice.

Oh, no problem.

 

I guess at my Local Tourny they used a lot more RFG cards (I hate that acronym, it should be RFP as in Removed from Play, which would be more accurate, since most of the cards weren't in the Grave when they were removed... sorry, slightly off topic)

He works really well with these guys, and he always comes back (Assuming RFP cards don't get to him, and you have the LP to pay)

I /really/ want a Green Baboon, and i would have had one if only shonen jump let me subscribe in the uk:( And i cannot afford to buy the single card. too much. but if i ever do get one, ill test out that build.

Yeah, I was gonna post that,but only saw that post after i posted, and did not want to double post. And i think I would take out Raiza before Jinzo....

That's a bummer about the Baboon, it's really a great card for CBs, but I'm sure you'll do without.

 

If there's one thing I can tell you, it's that you shouldn't replace anything with Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder. you could do a lot better things with your 3 dormant Crystal Beasts than send em all away for a big monster that can be blown away in an instant.

 

I guess you really don't need a big monster to replace anything with. I'd add another Carbuncle, I suppose.

 

But when I needed to fill room, I put in Rescue Cat and AC (They're so purr-ty... pun... yeah, it was lame, I know.)

After testing this deck out, I took out 1 Raiza and replaced it with a magical merchant, as it works very well. I dumped 3 of the 4 beasts i had 1 of with it, which is allways a good thing. And I summoned a Rainbow Dragon from a topdeck when the opponent had a blank field. that was quite fun.
