Hello ladies and gentle-makers!

Welcome to the fourth monthly YCM Awards, to kick off the New Year with a bang! I have a really good feeling about this month, and expect to see some really close races as usual.

 

I realize that with every month that goes by, we have hundreds of new members join us here, a lot of whom may just be discovering the YCM Awards for the first time, so let me give you a bit of an insight into how this all began, what it is all about, and how easy it is to have your say.

In September, last year, the now disgraced Johanderson made a thread in Questions, Comments and Suggestions, suggesting an annual forum awards ceremony. After 82 posts of discussion, the first awards began 10 days later on the 17th. They were to be hosted by Johanderson, but were taken over by Deity Mitsu, and were quite a success.

 

The awards were repeated the next month in October, and were even more popular. A council of 3 to 6 members was set up to diplomatically control the awards and make them more organised. The awards were regrettably cancelled in November, and postponed until December. There is now an every increasing amount of awards to be voted on, and more can be suggested by members for voting on by the council, which currently contains six members, listed in the Hall of Fame and Archive, which was set up to document the awards from the very beginning, and is currently the home of the awards. The awards now run from the 1st to the 10th of each month, and a different host is voted upon each month by anyone who wishes to have their say. This month, I have received that honour.

 

 

 

The YCM Awards have been set up to give members something to aim for other than those ever-chased goals of having lots of posts, or lots of reps, or constantly nagging for moderator status. As long as a dedicated council is in place, they shall forever continue.

 

"So Frunk, how do I participate?". Well, you just have to follow some simple rules and instructions, to be listed as follows:

 

The awards are broken up into two phases, the first being nominating:

 

- For the first 3 days (Tuesday the 1st, Wednesday the 2nd and Thursday the 3rd) you can nominate anybody for the different categories (Please note: If you choose to nominate, your nominations automatically account for your vote for the certain category(s) you nominated on, so nominate wisely).

- You cannot nominate yourself for any awards.

- You cannot personally nominate the same member for more than 3 different categories.

- The winners of each section from last months awards are automatically nominated.

- You do not have to nominate to be allowed to vote.

- You do not have to nominate on every category (If don't nominate on every category, you can vote on the categories you missed/left when the time comes to vote).

- You cannot change your nominations.

 

The second phase of the awards is voting:

 

- You can only vote on the top four nominees from each category (outlined by host).

- You cannot vote for yourself.

- You cannot change your votes.

- You cannot vote for someone who is not already nominated after the 3rd day of the month.

- You cannot personally vote for the same member for more than 3 different categories.

- You do not have to vote on every category.

- If there are any ties, the council will vote for a winner (If a council member is in a tie break situation, they cannot not vote).

- Voting closes on the 10th of the month, then the winners will be posted.

- If 24 hours pass without a new vote during the voting stage, the awards will end.

hmmm....I'm surprised im not voted for most active. I'm here everyday. Although still being there for card contests is nice ^_^. I'll vote once I figure out who i'm voting for.

 

Iv been here everyday too i mean i have made more than 1000 cards this week....and i post little of them also i keep posting i mean my post count was 1900 3 weeks ago i think...
