[Serenade]

Jane walks in with Kane and the new girl, Melody to the main lobby. Her mark was still so bright... she was nervous. It was sure to attract attention. She searched her sweatshirt pocket for gloves of any kind, nothing.

 

Figures, the ONE time I don't have my striped gloves. Way to go, Jane. Way to go. Now you and Kane are going to stick out like sore thumbs...

 

Patience, my maiden. You are protected here. There are too many witnesses to be attacked by whatever you may fear. Too many witnesses that you will see all the time... pay attention to those who look twice. Ronoa spoke from the card.

 

Yes... Thank you Ronoa. she continued into the lobby, searching for familiar faces.

Nick walked into the room, seeing Dan talking to some kid he thought he's seen before. Nick comes in, decidedly NOT wearing his disguise,

 

"Hey there, Dan. Is it have a helpless child follow you around day? I didn't quite get the memo. I wish I had one. Why do you always get the co-dependent ones?" he laughed, looking at Elliot.

 

"That feeling in your chest is probably just gas, kid. Why don't you shuffle off now." he pulls Dan aside,

 

"Listen. I have a feeling as if all of the six are starting to know who they are. Wandering around, I saw Jane and that kid that survived the shadow duel together in an almost romantic fashion. Their symbols were bright as the sun. If you don't believe me... take a look at it for yourself..." he talks quietly and motions at Jane and Kane, who just walked in to recieve their brackets.

 

"One could only assume that they either know the rest of E6 or have their suspicions. I'll be Zack a lot more from now on. If Jane knows anything, I need to be well informed."

"I think they're lovers," Madeline giggled, slinking from behind Nick and Dan, placing herself in the middle, but to the back of them, and randomly trailing her finger down the former's neck, her gaze flicking to Nick. "Jealous?" she teased. She snickered.

 

"Ah yes, I saw some pretty strong drama before, but looks like they got over that," she mused, casting Kane and Jane an amused glance. "Their names are even compatible. In the alphabet, J and K are right next to each other. It's decided by fate."

 

She giggled again. "So...see any single guys or girls for me to cling to? Put the nice-girl act on, maybe swipe another card?"

"Umm, I'm not a helpless child..... Gas..... (Do I really?.... I hope not, that would be embarassing.....)" Elliot thought to himself as he saw Dan being pulled aside. Elliot couldn't hear what they were talking about and just decided to stand there.

 

"Well how very interesting, hehe.... But to be frank, we're going to crush all of them so who cares if they know.... Just let them live on with their meaningless lives a little longer...." Dan whispered casually. "I don't think they're that smart to figure things out yet, don't overestimate those fools Nick, better yet my friend, save your energy for the upcoming tournament, it should be fun watching those pathetic losers getting crush..... Anyways, I've just tricked this kid into entering the tournament where I will send him to the shadow realm and take his cards.... He's such a clueless idiot....." Dan stated as he pat Nicks shoulder and walked off to Elliot. "Well Elliot, do you think you can make pass the first round, or is that gas problem going to be a bother?"

 

"I-It's not gas, my chest just feels a little uncomfortable is all.... And of course I'm gonna make it through the first round."

 

"Good to hear a little confidence coming from you, well good luck. (Like a lamb to a slaughter)" Dan thought to himself.

 

Dan then turned to Madeline. "Hehe, knowing Nick, he probably is." Dan whispered to Madeline. "And if you're looking for an idiot to steal a card from, look no further." Dan pointed to Elliot.

Nick nodded, "I know, I know. I just don't want them getting too ahead of themselves. The more we know before they do, the better. Not like it's hard. Those two are halfwits. Honestly, you couldn't pick dumber subjects with weaker souls than those two."

 

Nick shivered as Madeline's delicate finger trailed across his neck. He turned around, "I kind of thought they might have been, and the only thing I'm jealous of is that someone as mentally deficient as Kane can find a girl and I'm just a lonely sin."

 

Nick groaned, "You don't honestly believe in that compatibility stool, do you? They're desperate teens 'scared' by the things happening to them. I just want to waste their souls and get this over with already. Why is it everyone else gets to do whatever they want and we have all these damn rules."

 

Nick rolled his eyes at Madeline's next question. Was she honestly more preoccupied with duping people with her seductive personality, rather than taking what was right in front of her? "You could always make that kid Dan was just talking to your tool. He seems emotionally weak anyway. By the way, enjoy your present? I had to put a new ace in my deck just so you wouldn't get whipped like some weak slave in the new form of battle."

Aster looked over at a group of people in the other area, he thought they seemed nice bit.... it just wasent his style to talk to strangers. "Well it seems that you didn't even need my help to find your destiny." The spirit of Ordean Majestic Angel rose from his card. "What are you doing, with so many dulests here, someone may have the power to see you!" Aster tried to set the card deeper in his pocket. "Woops, my bad, good luck and remember to use me." The spirit faded back into his card. "Ahhh, at least no one saw him."

Seth eventually found not 1...2...but 3 of his "friends" "Yo....could you guys be a lil bit more quiet some of us are trying to....not really, but aren't you guys being a lil loud?" Seth looked over at the other Sins "on another note, how you guys doin'?" he asked non-chalantly, as if they really were just another group of duelists.

 

"well, you guys sure seem to represent yourselves quite well....especially you Madeline....." he joked, kind of.

Dan looked over to see Seth. "Hehe, well look who came out of hibernation, nice to see you again Seth." Dan said jokingly. "You can't really say I'm loud now can you? Especially with your snoring Seth, and not to mention drooling..... But anyways, I'm doing fine and happy to say that we're going to have a ver entertaining tournament my friends." Dan said casually. "By the way, have any of you discover anything other new members of the Six? I've been trying but it looks like maybe not all of them is at the tournament. Or maybe their mark is still dormant?"

"Because the girls like the clueless saps, weren't you listening to me?" Madeline snickered. "I'm not sure if I enjoy it," she mused, flicking the Levia Dragon-Daedalus card from her sleeve into her left hand and studying it. "I haven't used it yet," she explained.

 

"Mmm...besides, I dont think I should do another swipe. Too many witnesses and this is the last cover I've got," Madeline mused seriously.

 

She jerked a thumb towards Dan. "For Pride, he's weird. Too embarrassed or something to admit that people die when they lose an S-game?" she whispered to Nick. For the hell of it, she breathed lightly into his ear before backing off.

 

She did a bizarre left-handed salute to the Sloth member with the Levia card, before she walked back towards an isolated space, just out of the line of sight of Kane and Jane. She still hadn't seen the dupe's dragon since their duel and she was starting to wonder whether it had disappeared when the card "officially" switched hands.

Dan noticed Madeline whispering to Nick and carefully got closer to Madeline without her noticing. Dan heard what she said about him. "(A person dies when they go to the shadow realm? I thought that just means their soul gets sucked out of their body or something? Humph.... whatever.... And I'm not embarrassed to say it.... Why should I be embarrassed? Damn Madeline......)" Dan clutched his fists tightly together. "(Is she insulting my pride?! I won't stand for this kind of thing..... But I can't do anything rash, not with too many people around....)" Dan watched Madeline angrily as she left the group. "(..... That damn woman.....)"

[Lord JZ of the Enigma]

"Ah, with you guys around I never get bored....well almost." Seth gave out a small yawn as he looked around, he could feel the other members were around, and he could feel some of the "Six" were around. "Hmm, so, it seems they are here...but they don't seem that scary....oh wait...one of them is also the one I sensed earlier......interesting, so that's the one in need of "the procrastinator" he joked about his super-hero Alter-ego.

 

He then noticed Dan getting angry, and to avoid his anger being shown Seth had to let out his aura near him, visible only to the Sins, they may be of equal rank, but Wiraquocha Rasca still frightened the other Immortals. "calm down Dan..."

Nick saw Seth and was a little disgusted inside. How do you even become a sin for being a lazy, insolent fool for a majority of your life?

 

"You mean you're not sleeping somewhere under a rock? I'd expect the most from you. Did you even take the time to assemble a deck yet, Seth?" he scoffed and redirected his attention to Dan,

 

"At this moment in time, I would assume that Kane and Jane are the only two who can be confirmed as one of the six. The rest of their marks are probably in a state dormancy, as you said."

 

"Tch, well you should. That card is strong." he scoffed.

 

He was then taken off-guard by Madeline's mudsling on Pride. He started to say something when she seductively breathed into his ear. He neck curled a little from the odd sensation in his body. Then she just... walked off. He wasn't sure whether or not to be happy, excited, or broken. That could have been a signal, or it could have just been her playing with him. Either way, it ticked him off in a small fashion, but he decided to stay with the two males and scan the room for people that look too many times.

 

Nick sensed a noticeable rage on Dan's face. Was it possible that he had just heard that?

 

Ah, screw him and his Pride. He gets everything and he thinks he can complain simply because he's too much of a fool to admit that he doesn't like the consequences at hand!? If I had everything like he did, I wouldn't complain about a thing! How dare he take what he has for granted!

 

Envy then noticed Sloth using the power of his immortal to try and force Dan to silence. Nick pushes Sloth from the shoulder, "Would you calm down with that crap you knave?"

after getting pushed his aura was completely zapped back in him, making him a little dizzy. "so, it seems someone here is a lil angry...ya didn't have to push me." he was beginning to joke along, he didn't like conflicts among his comrades. "sheesh, that hurt ya know.....did you have to be so mean about it? So what if I'm not under a rock....I'm still the lovable lazy bastard you know...." He knew Nick wouldn't like that so he just took a deep breath. "and yeah...I have a deck...I made it half-asleep, does that make you feel better?"

Dan's eyes widened as he noticed the aura. Dan then closed his eyes and put his hands in his pockets as usual. "Tsch.... whatever...." Dan spoke using his aura. "Fine.... very well, I'll calm down...." Dan responded. Dan then walked away from the group and towards Elliot. "Well I'll see you later in the tournament." Dan then turned to the others. "I've forgotten my deck, I'll see you guys later." Dan walked off. As he passed Madeline, Dan's smile became a frown as he walked off.

Nick scoffed, "Well obviously, having a freakout here would not solve Dan's hurt pride or our cover..." he snickered, "Only you could make a deck half conscious. Just another thing you can do that I can... I can't do anything it seems."

 

"Exactly what is your deck composed of? I was thinking of using a WATER deck, but I might use Spellcasters instead. There's a world of possibilities, I suppose." he yawns a little, "Your presence is like a disease, Seth."

 

"See you later Dan." he sort of wandered off, pulling his hood over his hair and walking away. He had been in a group of sins for far too long, blatantly ignoring Derek's orders for the second time in roughly 3 or 4 days.

Madeline smirked as Pride passed her with a noticeable frown. So, he had probably heard her remark about him. Hmph, served him right for using a term like "shadow realm". It was a childish term, masking the true severity of the penalty of defeat. She, of course, had never experienced such a scenario, but to say the victims were...permanently removed...was enough for her to associate death with the loss.

 

She chuckled as the Sins began to disperse. She didn't care who saw her near them, despite the situation. She was just looking forward to the matches.

[Lord JZ of the Enigma]

"Oh, that's so mean Envy-kun, so very very mean." he joked in a childish way as he left. "ah, he's just another on a list for...The Procrastinator!" he stated with false enthusiasm as he thought about what he said. "Hmm, my deck.....is the complete opposite of me...." he said to himself with a smile as he walked towards the roster. "oh snap....forgot to sign my self in...why am I not surprised?"

 

"I'm not either...so I put you in Mr. Rivers...." it was a familiar voice, Seth looked back to see Claire, "you really are useless, you're the only sin that needs an assistant.

 

"Thanks alot.....now then, I guess I should wait....you want to get a snack or something?"

 

"You're sleepy, how about we find you a nice rock to sleep under?" she stated jokingly, and Seth laughed as well.

 

"yeah, we should...."

Saviero left his seat to go buy something to drink, coming across a young woman on his way. That unnerving feel was stronger around her, but he dismissed it as finding good competition. "Hey, I'm Saviero. What's your name, if you don't mind me asking?"

He awaited a response from Madline,beginning to think about his deck. He could open nicely, given he had the proper cards. Yeah... Time to dominate this tournament... he thought. It's not always the ATK that you want.

His light hair was blown from over his eyes. Now decks are all about speed. I hope the modifications I made are fast enough... If I can get the first turn to Summon correctly, I'll be set up for the rest of the duel.

Madeline looked over at the one addressing her and after giving him a quick look-over, smiled sweetly. "Hello, Saviero," she said. "I'm Madeline, a pleasure to meet you," she continued, delivering an innocent wink in his direction. She had no reason to use her false name, Fiona, as not only would it possibly be overheard by Kane, ruining the whole point of her robe-skirt outfit, but she was officially registered under that name.

 

"Nervous?" she asked, still using a soft, friendly tone to accompany the smile.

"Somewhat," Saviero sighed. "Pleasure to meet you as well, by the way. I'm not nervous about the opponents or losing; I've seen greater things bet on a duel, but it's the people. Failing to give a good first impression here could mean more than not getting a prize," Saviero frowned, then smiling again. "But it doesn't really matter what others think I guess. I'll just give it my all and see what happens from there. You don't seem like someone that would be nervous over a little tournament though, huh?"

Saviero dismissed the wink in his direction. I hope they don't expect me to hold back on them because I'm being friendly. Nobody is your friend during a tournament. He pushed his hair to the side to avoid it getting in his eyes again. "I hope we meet in the tournament," Saviero began, "Though, if you're good, I'd rather we not..." He smiled.

"Nah, I'm not the nervous type," Madeline agreed. She stretched her arms and folded them behind her head, leaning her back against the wall. "Maybe we will, maybe we won't," she said. "If you're good, I like to have a challenge. Most of my opponents don't quite have what it takes, if you know what I mean," she mused. She smiled again. "Good luck to you, Saviero. I daresay you'll need all the luck you can get. First round is the easiest. Everyone's in the same boat with the rule system. Later rounds is the real battle."

Saviero smiled. "I guess so. Nice meeting you, Madeline; I look forward to coming across you later in the tournament!"

Saviero began to return to his seat, then realizing the main purpose of him leaving his seat was to get something to drink. He purchased juice; soda didn't taste good to him, and returned to his seat, noticing the young man that had left before him still hadn't returned to his seat.

I hope they intend to get back here on time; the tournament should be starting any minute now...

As Yamato received his bracket, his eyes widened with excitement. Darn it! Why didn't I recognize that guy with Elliot! Pride... Pride... He smiled contentedly. I'm glad that I'm not alone here; I thought I was the only one in this tournament! He sat down again, watching Dan's movements. He smirked as he collided into Elliot. Then he addressed Saviero once more. "That girl you had been talking to... Who was she?" he asked him casually. He grinned instead of smiling this time. Another one! This is turning out a lot better than I thought!

Saviero looked to Yamato, hearing his question. "Her first name's Madeline; I'm don't know what her last name is. Why do you ask?" Saviero replied, beginning to think about his cards. "Man, I hope this tournament starts soon; I can't wait to get out there and duel. What about you?"

Saviero yawned. "It's boring with nothing to do... And I wanna see if my deck is fast enough to keep up with you guys..."

Yamato widened his eyes at his question. "I had thought she seemed familiar. Perhaps, I had been wrong," he added, lying. "Oh, and you shouldn't underestimate yourself. Just try and you'll do fine. I've seen tons of people who felt the same way, but actually were revealed to have great potential," he said, smiling reassuringly. "I'd be severely disappointed if you were knocked off the first round. Maybe the second round, but not the first round," he concluded. He shook his head. Should I go talk to her? I might get revealed... Oh well. "I'll be back really quick," he hastily said and walked up to Madeline.
