Lucas just stared at his opponent. "Uh...I guess..." he said, scratching the back of his neck with a blank expression. He shrugged, putting on his helmet and sliding his deck into the deck slot compartment. What a strange man he was facing...about to do a Turbo Duel, but acts like he's about to sleep. Was that just his way of psyching him out, so that he wouldn't treat him like a serious competitor. Lucas shrugged. It didn't matter. He didn't come to this tournament to lose in the first real round!

"Oy oy...before I forget...go easy on me please?" he asked with an almost sincere voice. "Just kiddin'....good luck to ya, I'm rootin' for ya....oh wait...I'm your opponent...whoops....guess I can't root for ya....heh heh." it was a very odd scene, but Seth really didn't look like he was trying to win, "I wonder how long til we go out....I'm in no hurry, but I at least don't want to miss the starting light..." he turned on the engine and let it move slowly, he used it as a massage function. "oh yeah....that's good...."

Once again, Seth's bizarre behavior and attitude perplexed Lucas, but he forced himself to stay focused. "Well...good luck to you, too," he said, cracking a smile. "I hope you're a tough opponent and may the best duelist win," he said. Personally, he was just thrilled that he didn't have to go through the new rule system in his first match and he was well prepared for this match. He was in no hurry, either, but he nevertheless hoped the match would start soon. The longer the delay, the more time had to get nervous.

Terra went to a spot were he could watch the duel, as he looked at them he wondered how they would duel. Riding Duels are tough especially for most people, he felt lucky that his duel gang gave members runners and that he had gotten a pretty good one because his deck shines in riding duels. Still he got an odd vibe from someone down there Terra just didn't know who, all he know was that something in this tournament scared him.

Smiling, Yamato thought, amused, Pride... he most certainly is prideful, as he looked around for a seat. He had managed to find a seat next to Madeline, the girl who he had been talking to previously. He smiled vaguely. "Who do you think's gonna win round 1? Me, I'm not sure," he added after his question. Structure Deck Duel, eh? I might not even have to resort to the Crimson Beasts... Maybe I'll just use my plain regular deck.

Dan grew bored of waiting and decided to begin the duel. Dan motioned his hand for one of the security in the room to come over. "Uh yes Sir?"

"I want you to tell the announcer to begin the tournament, I've waited long enough, so now it's time to start." Dan stated.

"Right away Sir." The security guard exited the room and headed for the stage where the announcer was awaiting confirmation to begin. "Mr. Alsiter confirmed to start the tournament."

"Huh? Really? O-okay then. Ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to the Annual Duel Monsters Grand Prix Tournament! Sponsored by our great friends at O.E. Corp! Now joining us live is one of the project managers for this tournament, Mr. Dan Alister!" Dan appeared on a big sphere screen.

"Ladies and gentlemen watching here and from home. I would like to take this moment to say how great it is to be sponsoring this tournament. One of our Tournament Directors, Derek Enzyme, contributed a big part to this tournament. Now without further interruptions, please enjoy our tournament!" Dan's last words were drowned out by thousands of screaming fans.

"Alright, first up! We have a Structure Deck Turbo Duel. Competitors! Come to the starting line!" The announcer yelled out with overflowing energy in his voice.

Lucas brightened and looked over at Seth. "Hey man, it's about to start," he told him, steering his runner ahead to the starting line. His hands were firm, but his heart pounded with excitement. Here he was, in front of roaring fans in a prestiguous tournament. All he had to do now was defeat this guy beside him and he'd be one step closer to winning the whole thing. He grinned, eyes shining beneath his helmet glass. "I'm ready to start this thing," he whispered to himself. "Ready to win."

"hmm, wha? oh right...okay here I go....let me think...key in ignition...and oh wait it's already in." he moves the bike forwards and puts down his visor, his eyes completely obscured. "I could totally use this to sleep. But not right now." The boosters on the D-wheel extend as if they were wings and begin to glow. "let's do this then....." the system begins to start up and he takes a deep breath.

"Alright! Now that the competitors have arrived, let me introduce them! First up, we have Seth Rivers!" The audience screamed in excitement. "And then, we have Lucas Vilan!" Once again the audience clapped and scream for the competitor. "Alright everybody, let this match commence!!!!" The lights began changing. First from red, yellow, signaling for the competitors to activate Speed World and begin the match.

Dan watched from his office seeing all of the audiences screaming loudly. "So now it begins, hehe.... Let's see what will happen...."

Saviero yawned. "Well, at least things are getting started. The right thing to do would be study the opponent because I might face them later, but I'd rather just look at my babies..."

The adolescent yawned and pulled a card from his deck, smiling as if he had known the exact location of the card he was looking for. "There you are!" He grinned, looking at his Cyber Dragon card. The best thing to do would have been to not look at the card, for others could have caught a glimpse of it and learned what Deck he was running, so he place the card immediately back into his Deck. Don't worry, we'll get you out to go play with the other duelists.

"All righty...I have to pump myself for this a lil..." he activated his Runner and his eyes began to glow a little as the ring of purple energy surrounded them both, however his eyes couldn't be seen under his visor. "Speed World Activated...Due Mode Start!" his D-wheel revved up and the wheel seemed anxious to let him go forward.

((...did it work this time? It faked me out, I think))

"Speed World, activated," Lucas stated swiftly, revving his engine and taking off from the starting line. A ring of purple energy expanded from around his runner, encompassing the playing field. His Runner screen flashed the words "Duel Mode Start!". An image of the playing field appeared on the screen, displaying an image of his opponent and their respective stats.

Lucas swiftly pulled five cards from his deck and inserted them into his 'hand' slot. He glanced back towards Seth. "I hope you don't mind if I take the first move?" he asked, drawing his sixth card. The guy seemed pretty easygoing, so unless he DESPERATELY needed the first move, Lucas didn't think he would mind.

"I summon Elemental Hero Stratos!" he announced, placing the first card onto his Runner Disk. A summoning circle appeared to the side and a warrior with blue armor and fan-like items at its shoulders appeared in a flash. (lvl 4, 1800/300)

"When Stratos is summoned, I can search my deck for one Elemental, Destiny, or Evil Hero, and add it to my hand. I choose Elemental Hero Neos!" he said, displaying the added card and putting it into his hand. He then plucked two cards from his hand and slapped them into his spell and trap card zone. "Then I put these 2 down and end my turn!"

"And here we go!" the Bike blasted forward, only slightly behind his opponent. "I draw!" with that both of their speed counters went to 1 and they started going faster. "Now then, I'll set one monster and then I'll set 2 face-down cards, then I'll end...."

It was a simple move, but thinking would take energy he didn't feel like using, the holograms for the monster's defense card came up while the other disappeared behind him.

Lucas blinked. Defensive play of some sort? Okay, well then he should press an advantage.

"I draw!" he stated, glancing at his fresh card. "I summon Elemental Hero Neos Alius!" he continued, a second warrior appearing beside the first. This one was similar in garb to the famed Neos, but smaller and more like a child. (Lvl 4, 1900/1300)

"Now I'll attack your facedown monster with Neos Alius!" Lucas continued. The more impressive warrior made a dramatic pose before rushing over to punch Seth's hidden monster.

Jane walked into the arena with her stuff on her back. She, yet again, changed attire to skinny jeans tucked into leather boots that went up to her high calves, a with a zip-sweatshirt that was very form fitting. She immediately finds Kane and walks over to him, sitting real close to him and leaning on him a tad,

"Well Hi there, Kane!" she squeaked cutely as she sat down next to him.

"and with that you attacked my Vortex Guardian Irnwal(ATK:0/DEF:2500), now then when you attack him and your Atk is lower then his defense you take double the damage!" as the small hero punched through the large imposing beast rammed into him with his Protective Statue, causing the pain to be sent to his opponent instead. "Anything else you'd like to try?" he said with a smile.

If this card is in face-up Defense Position during your opponent's Standby Phase, you must Destroy 1 card on your side of the Field. Double any Battle Damage your opponent takes when they attack this monster.

Lucas winced. That had...been unexpected. Such a formidable defense monster, and one he certainly had not expected to see in this match. He counted himself lucky that he hadn't run into it with a smaller monster. Now he just had to figure out a way to get through it. "I end my turn!" he stated with a frown. His two monsters settled down on either side of his Runner, Alius wringing its hand.

"Yay...my turn then, I'll draw!" he pulls a card from his deck "hmm...I think I'll just go ahead and set another card face down. " the card appeared to his side and vanished as Irnwal simply sat down, knowing it's Master he would be on the field for a long time doing little but defend. "Now then, with that, I'll end my turn....remind me when it's your standby phase okay? cause then Irnwal gets to use his second effect!"

Saviero looked around, noticing Madeline seated above him and to his left. There was something strange about her; an impelling force about her presence. Hm... Why on earth would that be? It's not a feeling of embarrassment... Maybe... Nah, probably just me thinking about random stuff when I SHOULD be thinking about this duel.

Saviero stood up, necklace glowing when he touched it. A faint, electronic voice spoke.

"Runner: Activated. Systems Check?"

Saviero walked out of the stadium, towards the main lobby, exiting and going to Duel Runner storage. He checked on his Runner, made sure everything was in proper order, then frowned. "Sorry, D.D, but I can't use you on the first duel okay? I'm putting you up, and you can play with me in the finals, okay?"

He opened a small, deck-sized storage pod in the seat of the disk that held the pilot and locked it, shutting down his Duel Runner and making sure the security systems were active. The security on the vehicle had an independent power source, so whenever the actual runner was shut down, the security system was up. It was to prevent theft, and came in handy when you won a huge bet against someone and they were looking for revenge.

Saviero returned to his seat, looking up at Madeline. Hm...

"Hi there." Kane said, putting his arm behind his chair and smiling warmly at her. "Where did you go anyway?" He asked, blushing a little.

Astrum flew up to her. "I don't believe I've introduced myself. My name is Argentum Astrum Ma'am." Said the dragon, bowing his head in a gentleman-like way. "Your name is Jane, correct? Its nice to meet you."

Nick was walking around when he saw Madeline. She was so beautiful, even in that bland cloak of hers. He saw that she was being stared at by random people. She was always so popular. It made him so jealous, the fact that he knew he would be lonely, and that the second Madeline wanted to settle down, she'd find someone that'd bend over backwards for her.

"Tch." was all he said as he walked behind her and continues towards his seat. The feeling of a personal defeat sat heavy in his heart as he watch Sloth commence his duel.

Melody was walking when she was bumped into by yet another person, "Geez! That's the second time this is happening to me! Does noone use their eyes here?!" she looks over to Elliot, "Are you alright, mr? You took quite a fall." Melody extends a hand after getting up to Elliot to help him up. She motions over towards to two empty arena seats,

"Care to join me in viewing this duel?"

"Uh...okay," Lucas muttered to himself, drawing his next card. "I draw, and it's now my Standby Phase!" Hm, that meant his monster would force him to destroy one of his own cards. As he waited for Seth to activate that effect, he scanned the cards in his hand. Nothing he had at the moment could break through a defense that strong, but he wasn't losing hope yet. He hadn't expected his opponent to use a defensive strategy, but he could work around that.

"And what're you doing?" he asked.

((Standby Phase. Just presuming you actually have an effect or something, otherwise you could have just added Opponent Draw Phase/Standby Phase effects on your last post. So...response to SBP?))

Jane giggled, "Oh, nothing. I just wanted to see the reaction's of a few people I know about this upcoming tournament. I met this really silly man! He's actually in the duel right now! Seth...Rivers I believe. Also, I think Elliot might be in the tournament or something, he was reviewing his deck a lot bef-D'Yahhhh!" she half fell out of her chair, the hood from her zip-sweatshirt falling off of her head as she saw the rather large dragon in front of her,

"You're... large." she wears a 'o_o' expression on her face while letting the rest of herself fall out of the chair ever so ungracefully to stand up and put out a hand, as if to shake with this massive dragon,

"Y-yes. My name is Jane. Oh!" the "lightbulb" turns on in her brain, "You're the thing that got stolen from Kane, yes?"

"Yay...now then,,,you see I have to destroy a card on my side of the field, so I destroy this one!" He picks up a card from his field and places it in the Grave, before it disappears from the field it flipped up, "Now then, it activates my Vortex Imp Trap, you see when this card is destroyed I can inflict 1000 Damage to your Life Points!" A small Imp flew out of the card and passed his monsters, slashing his opponent with his grimy looking claws.

Saviero yawned, turning his head away from Madeline. There's something... Off about her. Certainly isn't her looks, though. He chuckled, looking once more at his Cyber Dragon. Hm...

Saviero was going to stand and near Madeline, but he decided not to, watching the duel. "Why is this taking so long? The lazy one is obviously more skilled; you don't have the confidence to behave like that unless you're an awesome duelist..." He mumbled. "Yeah; he's lazy alright... Almost... Sloth-like... Then again, he could be just tired."
