"Thought so" Tyson mused. "Nope! First I activate Magic Cylinder, which negates Topaz Tiger's attack and deals you 1600 damage, since that's his current ATK! I also chain your attack with Backfire, not that it does anything now." He said as the cylinders appeared and sent a blast of energy at Missy, striking her runner. "I'm not losing today!" he yelled, and returned to driving as Volcanic Slicer growled at its opponent defiantly.

(Actually, Topaz gains during Damage Step, so it's 1600 during attack declaration- Cylinder's timing. Uh, it's also Slicer on your field, not Scatter. I am also assuming this is a shadow duel, simply because whether it is or not has no impact on the result)

Missy grunted as the blast of energy struck her Runner and a shot of agony shot through her chest. What the hell?! That actually hurt! she thought, alarmed. Her Tiger growled at her opponent. Her gaze flicked to her hand.

"I set two facedowns to end my turn," she said quietly. She had rebuilt her Crystal Beast deck to be more trap-heavy for Turbo Duels. She just hoped that without the speed regular spells gave her, she'd be able to hold her own against this kind of opponent.

Tyson's speed counter meter went up to two as he drew his card. "Ok then. I summon Volcanic Rocket (1900/1400). Next, I set one card facedown. Now I play Speed spell: Speed Energy. This gives my volcanic Slicer and extra 200 ATK points for every speed counter I have, which means that he gains 400 ATK (1800>2200/1200)!" Tyson steered around the curve in the track, and his deck's dark aura began to activate, making the shadow duel more painful for his opponent.

Missy gritted her teeth, staring down her opponent's two monsters. She had nothing to do in response to his effect or the summoning. She was already down on LP and field presence, meaning she had a long way to go towards winning this duel. She was starting to pick up an eerie vibe from her opponent. Not only did he seem like somewhat of a jerk, but there was something else about him, something that didn't normally accompany a normal duel opponent.

"Go on," she said quietly.

Jane nodded. She was mildly traumatized by the whole thing. Her bangs fell in front of her face cutely as she calmed down.

"Yeah... Okay. You're right." she caught her breath and calmed down, "Thanks for being such a good friend Elliot." she hugged him and started walking towards the gate in which she last saw Kane. Yet, at the same time, she was confused... What was she doing, hugging Elliot and showing affection? She liked Kane. Or maybe... she shook her head and kept walking.

Elliot smiled at Jane. "Hey that's what friends are for. To reassure each other in any situation." Elliot said confidently. Elliot then was hugged by Jane. Elliot didn't say anything but smiled. "Okay, let's find Kane!" Elliot followed swiftly behind Jane as he looked around. "I wonder why it seems so calming now...." Elliot spoked quietly to himself and then noticed Jane shaking her head. "(Huh? I wonder what's wrong with Jane now?....)" Elliot followed behind, looking at Jane with a sad face. "(I hope she's alright. I don't want to see any of my friends in this kind of state....)"

Kane got up and looked around the emptying lounge. He turned to Astrum, who was now sitting down, relieved that the stadium was undamaged. "We should go find Jane, and make sure she's alright." he said, checking to see if his deck box was closed.

"Sure, I guess. I'm sure she's fine, Kane. There is no reason to worry about her. I'm more concerned about what caused that tremor."

"Yeah I suppose, we should still find her though." Kane said, walking in the direction that Jane left.

"Well then, here comes the fun part." Tyson said , looking over at his opponent. "Volcanic Slicer, attack Topaz tiger, and make ;em hurt a bit!" The metallic beast complied, and launched a blast of molten rock and flames at the bejeweled tiger, with some of the lava melting the pavement on the track. "If that attack goes through, Volcanic Rocket will attack directly. Steady as she goes, boy!" He said, turning to volcanic rocket, who seemed to be hovering impatiently.

Missy winced when her Topaz Tiger shattered apart. "I choose not to crystallize him, and I activate the Trap Card Crystal Pair!" she announced. "I can activate this when one Crystal Beast is destroyed in battle and sent to the graveyard. I select a Beast from my deck and place it in my Spell and Trap card zone! After that, I take no Battle Damage for the turn!"

She removed one card from her deck. "I choose Crystal Beast Cobalt Eagle!"

She let out a gasp as a shock ran through her. That's right...I still take the damage from the first attack! But why does it hurt so much?

"Well, in that case I end my turn. How does it feel? These duels get veeerrry painful." Tyson said in a sadistic voice, amused at this feeble attempt at retaliation. His speed counters went to 3 as he looked up. Volcanic rocket seemed visibly annoyed, and he smiled at the creature, now fully brought to life by the shadow game. His plan was going perfectly. Before long he would get to see the destruction and pain he wanted to see...

"Well, my turn, then!" Missy called, drawing. "I summon Crystal Beast Sapphire Pegasus!" she announced, the white horse with wings materializing from a large sapphire stone. (Lvl 4, 1800/1200) "When she's summoned, I place a Crystal Beast from my deck into my spell and trap zone as a crystal!"

She plucked a card. "Crystal Beast Ruby Carbuncle!" she stated, sliding the card onto her disk. A red ruby appeared beside the existing cobalt gem.

"Sapphire Pegasus, attack Volcanic Slicer!" she ordered. The horse charged the monster, its jeweled horn glinting.

"Now why on earth would you do that?" Tyson asked as Volcanic slicer returned fire. "their ATK power is equal, meaning that they are both destroyed. Too bad, your field is wide open now." He said smugly. Volcanic slicer incinerated the crystal beast, but was impaled on its horn in the process, and both faded into broken pixels. "I now activate my trap card, Time Machine! This lets me special summon Volcanic slicer back to the field, because he was destroyed by battle. Is that all?" he asked.

"I...crystallize my Sapphire Pegasus, and put a card facedown," Missy said, gritting her teeth as Backfire activated, a blast of fire striking her and a burning sensation scorched her flesh. This duel was so weird...and she was now in much deeper trouble than before.

Yamato smiled as his token shattered into oblivion. It was but a minor setback. "Alright! My turn, draw!" He grinned evilly. "I activate 'Soul Release', the card I just drew to get rid of 5 cards in your graveyard, decreasing your Ordean's ATK to 1600! Then I release a Token to Special Summon 'Crimson Beast MKII - Flame Leo' once more! By his effect, I can remove from play your (pitiful, he added in his mind) monster. Kane and Asrum hadn't been walking for very long when Kane spotted Elliot and Jane, his mark lighting up as he did so. The pair ran over to them, and Kane spoke to the pair "Are you two ok?" he asked. Suddenly, his mark throbbed with a pain that was different from the one Jane caused him, and he looked down. Instead of its normal Grren/white color, the mark had turned a yellow/green, almost as if it were sick, or hurt.

---

Tyson drew his card and smiled evilly. "I summon Volcanic Blaster (1200/600). Next, I activate Volcanic slicer's ability, dealing you 500 LP damage at the price of his attack this turn." Slicer spat a fairly large fireball at Missy's duel runner, aiming to throw it off course in revenge for hurting it last round. "Now, on to the big stuff. Volcanic Blaster, Attack her directly, and If it goes through, Volcanic Rocket will also attack directly." Blaster deployed itself, and sent a jet of flame hurtling toward her at high speed.

Jane nods, "Yes, I'm okay. I fell on my knees and I need a new pairs of jeans now," she points at her tattered pantlegs on her jeans, "but I think other than a trip to the mall and a loss of cash I'll be okay." she smiles. She looks over to Elliot's hand, there was a mark there! Elliot too...? He's WATER...

She snapped back into focus from her shock over Elliot's mark, then looked down at her mark and remembered something, "Ah! I wanted to give you guys something." she hands out a few pairs of driving gloves, "These will hide our marks as well as look fashionable in a turbo duelist setting. I'm just doing this for safety as I feel if we have these marks, for whatever reason, people will hunt us for the power they may or may not contain."

Missy yelped in pain as a flash of fire struck her Runner, courtesy of Volcanic Slicer. She winced, the Runner wobbling as she struggled to maintain her balance. "I activate Rainbow Path!" she called, one of her Traps flipping up, displaying a Rainbow Dragon around a glowing Ruby Carbuncle. "I send my Ruby from my Spell and Trap card zone when your monster attacks. And then I negate that attack!"

A barrier formed around her when Volcanic Rocket attempted to hit her, the attacking bouncing off. "And then, I add one Rainbow Dragon from my deck to my hand!" Missy finished, extracting her ace card from her deck.

"Are you done?" she asked, panting slightly from the heat of the flames she had endured.

"Thanks." Kane said, looking over the gloves. They were nice looking, and they felt comfortable when he put them on. His mark still hurt quite a bit, but he ignored the pain. Astrum looked at Elliot's hand, and pointed the mark out to Kane. "Interesting... It seems there ARE more of us." Kane thought. His mark throbbed again, this time with even more pain. Taken by surprise, Kane winced, his composure broken. "It's nothing." he said, trying not to spook Jane, Elliot, and Astrum.

"I'm done. You're really making Rocket angry. He hasn't gotten to hurt you yet." The beast snarled viciously at Missy, showing its irritation. "Good luck trying to survive next turn." He thought to himself, looking at the one card in his hand. The volcanic monsters were becoming visibly annoyed, and Slicer was taking every opportunity to fidget by warping the asphalt with his flames. "You're up, and try not to destroy your own monster this time." Tyson called over, contempt in his voice.

"My luck is turning around check this out, I activate Ordean Dark Soul, so by removeing 5 monsters with Ordean in their name I can wipe out every card on the field," Suddenly a dark aura sorrunded the field and everything sunk into a dark hole, but Inferno Lion stayed. "My turn, then!" Missy called, drawing. She did a quick Crystal Beast count. To summon out her ace monster, she needed to have all 7 of them on her field or graveyard. At the moment, she had Ruby, Cobalt, Sapphire, and Topaz. She still needed 3: Emerald, Amethyst, and Amber.

She quickly examined the cards in her hand. "I activate my other Trap! Needlebug Nest! I send the top five cards of my deck to the Graveyard!" she announced, the trap flipping up. She closed her eyes and slid the top cards off her deck and gazed at them.

"The cards I lose are Crystal Beast Emerald Tortoise, Rainbow Gravity, Mirror Force, Crystal Beast Amber Mammoth, and another Crystal Beast Sapphire Pegasus," she said slipping the cards into her Graveyard and breathing a sigh of relief. Looks like there was hope for her, yet.

"I summon Rescue Cat!" she said, grinning. A cute kitten with a yellow helmet appeared, mewing cutely. (Lvl 4, 300/100) "By sending it to my Graveyard, I can Summon 2 Level 3 or below Beasts from my deck, and I choose two Crystal Beast Amethyst Cats!"

In a flash of light, two pink panther-like monsters appeared, growling. (Lvl 3, 1200/600) x2

"Now, I have all 7 of my Crystal Beasts on my field or Graveyard, so I can summon my ace, Rainbow Dragon!" Missy squealed, slapping the card onto her field. Bright lights covered the field, and a massive serpentine dragon appeared, its body glittering with many stones of different colors. (Lvl 10, 4000/0)

"I halve the ATK of both of my Cats and they can attack you directly!" Missy declared. The two cats purred and lunged at Tyson, slashing swiftly.

"And Rainbow Dragon will attack your Volcanic Slicer!" Missy continued. A rainbow ring appeared before the dragon's mouth before a beam launched through the ring at Volcanic Slicer. She knew she'd take 500 damage for it, but it was well worth it.

"Turn End, my two Cats are destroyed and put into my Spell and Trap Zone," Missy finished.

Yamato flinched at the loss of one of his best monsters. "No matter..." He drew, adding his hand count to 7. He smiled at his advantage of not losing a single card due to "Card Destruction's" effect. "I activate 'Phoenix Trio'! I Special Summon 'Crimson Beast MKII - Frost Pegasus' from my graveyard and 'Crimson Beast MKII - Gaia Dragon' from my deck! Unfortunately for me, their effects are negated. However, on the upside, I can Special Summon 'Crimson Beast MKIII - Supreme Phoenix'!" He revealed a card from his hand and tributed his 3 beasts and they merged together, becoming a phoenix with characteristics of them. "This," he paused, "is my ace card. Behold!" Next, he revealed yet another card, but this time, a Ritual Spell. "I activate 'Offerings to the Crimson Altar'!" He discarded 3 cards and paid 700 Life Points and a small shrine appeared. It crumbled into ruins and became an enormous 7-headed dragon. "You really are screwed. 'Crimson Beast MKIII - Devastating Hydra'! There's almost no way you can break through this! I place 2 of his Crimson Counters on Phoenix, decreasing Hydra's ATK by 200, plus 100 from my Field Spell! Now, first thing's first, I attack with Devastating Hydra!"

Tyson gritted his teeth against the onslaught of monsters. Luckily for him, Volcanic Slicer took rainbow dragon's attack, and the shock waves were not as severe as they would have been had it been a direct attack. "You are gonna pay for that, BIG TIME!" he yelled into the intercom, having regained his balance. "I draw." He looked at his hand, then rainbow dragon, and smiled. "Too bad. That dragon won't save you. I play Speed Spell: Sonic Buster! It allows me to deal damage equal to half of one of my monster's ATK points, and I choose Volcanic Blaster. You lose 600 LP." Volcanic Blaster let out a screech, and the shock waves hit Missy.

"Now, prepare to lose your soul, girl!" Tyson smiled psychotically. This was the moment he'd been waiting for. "I tribute Volcanic Blaster and Volcanic Rocket to summon MY ace card, and your doom: Earthbound Immortal Uru!" Tyson flipped a switch on his handlebar, activating the modified projector. In the middle of the stadium, the Immortal's "heart" appeared, and was at least five time its normal size due to the projector. "Say goodbye, folks!" Tyson yelled insanely at the audience. At that moment, red blasts of energy erupted from the heart in all directions, destroying large sections of the stadium and sucking in thousands of souls...

One of the upper decks collapsed as a beam struck it, and the souls generated were enough to summon the Immortal, whose massive form straddled the entire oval track, four legs on each side. "Now, Uru, show her what REAL pain fells like." Uru obeyed, and kicked Missy's duel runner up into the air, snatching it in its mandibles. Seconds later, It snapped in half, and pieces of the vehicle fell to the ground. "Game over." said Tyson.

Just outside the stadium, Madeline felt an immensefully powerful vibe and one of the cards in her deck, whose presence she knew quite well, reacted. Her head jerked up and she turned back towards the stadium. As she watched, large chunks of the building simply collapsed or exploded, and she felt a shiver of fear...fear, an emotion she should be far from experiencing, even in such a time.

"...another Immortal," she breathed. What in the hell was going on?

--

"So...it's happened," Derek realized, already aware of the destruction, even if he wasn't in place to witness it. The Avatar within him made a sound like a deep inhalation and the man shivered. The Wicked God was thrilled...excited. This was the end of the tournament, and soon everything would be in place.

Jane slipped her gloves on as she noticed the giant monster sprouting from the duel arena. Her mark throbbed with the intensity of... a knife. She fell to her knees, not having the same kind of fortitude Kane and Elliot had. It almost felt as if her mark was bleeding rapidly. The pain started to overwhelm her and her own mind started racing. Similar to the duel in the hallway with Madeline, she passed out. She held her side as she fell to the ground.

So... Yamato thought to himself, amused, half-glancing towards the stadium. It has happened. He sighed. I hoped to bring a sacrifice myself for the summoning, but oh well... The stadium appeared to be bombed and the deafening cheers were no more. The silence was eerie. He turned back and awaited for his opponent (or victim, he added) to respond to his towering phoenix's enormous flame laser. "I'm sure..." he paused for dramatic effect. "It's over," he added in a whisper.

"Get down!" Astrum yelled as he tackled Kane and Elliot to the floor, a red blast from Uru barely missing the top of his head as he did so. "What on earth was that?!" Kane exclaimed, getting up and lifting Jane onto his shoulders in a fireman's carry.

"That monster outside." Said Astrum grimly. Kane's mark erupted in massive pain, and he almost dropped Jane in the process, but recovered his balance. "Kane. Give her to me, and get on my back. We've gotta go, NOW!" Astrum roared as Kane complied with the order. The dragon threw Elliot onto his back as well, looked up, and released a blast of wind and energy at the ceiling. "Hang on." He said as he flew through the resulting hole, holding onto Jane tightly, but being careful not to cut her with his claws. Kane clung to the spines on Astrum's back-neck area, and was astonished at the sheer destruction the giant spider had caused. Parts of the stadium were ablaze, and emergency response teams were beginning to arrive. "Ill get us a safe distance away." Astrum said and flew away from the stadium.
