Dan looked at Nick as he walked away with Jane. Couldn't helped himself, Dan gave a big evil grin as he watched Nick walked away. "(Hehehehe...... My, my, things just keep getting better don't they? Hehehe......)" Dan thought to himself. Elliot saw the grin and was immeadiately freaked out. "(What the heck? That sure is quite some grin.....)" Elliot then noticed Nick walking away with Jane. "(I hope that grin just now couldn't mean anything bad..... could it?....)" Elliot thought to himself with visible signs of concern of his face. Dan then smiled at Madeline. "(Well, well, what a comeback Madeline....)"

"Hardly polite, Itsu, pulling off other's cloaks." Protheus said. He had white hair, and wore strange white-blue clothes. He had pale skin, but his eyes were gray, as all Protheus's eyes were. "I admit, I don't have a clue as to why you're here, in this dimension. As for my appearance, it's my host's appearance. For you see, my soul was torn into a million pieces, and each piece was sent across the multiverse, some are inside other hosts right now, others are crystallized and hibernating in the desert or the ocean, waiting for a host to inhabit. The host you see now is a powerful one, and I had suspected during your....karaoke, that you were definitely Itsu." He paused for a moment. "Right now, my host, Ran, is watching us talk, inside my mind. And anyway...." He pointed at Desna. "Who is this? A sidekick of yours?"

ooc: Hey guys, if I could ask you to please try to, you know, actually have an impact on the plot and be where everyone else is?

ic: Nick grinned as he continued to carry Jane down this very long hallway. He noticed some very distinct features about Jane. She really was very beautiful, but she concealed it with things like her hair covering her face, and wearing sexually attractive clothing to bring points onto places that would shame her. He almost felt bad for her. He saw something weird in this small woman. He shrugged it off and glazed his face over, coming into the infirmary, "She just... passed out while spectating a duel." He drops her on the nearest medical table and walks off, "I want to know when she's awake."

Akio walked towards a small building with a strange, sly smile. His eyes glanced towards a few people, but he paid no mind. If they wanted to talk to him they'd find him. He glanced at his rose, still smiling. If only I could wipe these pathetic duelists off the earth. Only the strong should survive. His eyes looked up at the sky. I know that I'm strong enough to survive. I can beat any of these pathetic excuses for duelists. He saw a duel going on and walked towards it. This could be interesting. He recognized the frog duelist almost immediately.

"Well it looks like we're going to be triumphant." He smiled as he stared at the rose. He barely paid any attention to the duel, he had already predicted the outcome. One duelist will play a last resort card to try and end it, but the frog deck would eventually end the game. He had seen this kind of duel dozens of times.

Jane woke up in an unfamiliar environment, there was a bright light in her eyes, she woke up and instantly winced, she looked around and started to feel an immense pain inside of her left arm. She must have fell on it when she passed out. It feels as if she broke her shoulder. She sits up slowly, wincing through the pain, the nurse comes over and says "Ms. Numire, Ms. Numire! Please! Lay back down! You took a huge hit to your nervous system with that fall and your shoulder is not properly casted!" The nurse tries to let her back down and Jane replies with a, "Please mam, no! There is a man out there in serious danger and I must help him!" Jane tries to get up, and she tears a little as the nurse forces her back down, touching her shoulder in the process. The nurse speaks again, "Besides, the kind young man that brought you here after you collapsed wanted to speak to you." She smiles as she calls the number Nick left for the nurse.

Ronoa, what will we do? I fear that boy we were caring for will die, and it will be my fault!

At ease, my maiden. He will be fine, I'm almost positive.

Promise me if he's in trouble, you will do something?

If it means that much to you, my maiden, I will do anything.

Thank You Ronoa, you have no idea how much it means to me. I feel like we're connected in some sense, like if he dies, I'll die in a way as well.

There's no such thing as love at first sight, silly.

Nonono! It's not like that, like... It's deeper.

Tell me your parents taught you incest is never wincest?

Oh shut up. Just save him if he's gonna die you twit.

Will do.

((Yes, I was allowed to do this))

Madeline watched Kane with a smirk of amusement, dimly aware of how much attention her last move had garnered from the onlookers, most of them being her colleagues. She licked her lips, her left index finger hovering over the Disk button that would trigger the card she had set last turn. All she needed to do was wait a second or two, and victory was guaranteed to be hers.

The moment Kane reached to draw his card, Madeline pressed the button on her disk.

"I activate my Trap!" she announced gleefully. "Spiritual Water Art- Aoi!" Her facedown card flipped upwards, displaying a ritual being overseen by the water Charmer. "By Tributing one WATER monster on my field, I can look at your hand and send one card to the Graveyard. Seeing as you only have 1 card, there's no question which one I choose, is there?"

As she spoke, her Poison Draw Frog glowed and disappeared, a wave of water swirling around to remove Kane's card. Madeline laughed in triumph, her violet eyes flashing. "No cards in hand, none on your field, and you holding on to a meager 100 lifepoints, staring down a field of frogs! With nothing you can do, that means your turn is over!"

She didn't hesitate, drawing her last card and pointing her left hand forward. "Unifrog! Direct attack!" The purple horned frog croaked and pounced upon Kane. Madeline watched the attack with hungry eyes. Good riddance, you naive young man, she thought.

The white-blonde young man got a bit irritated.

"The name's Desna. Desna Adats. I'm in the same line of work as Itsu, though I only troubleshoot and not do it to entire universes. I'm the ultimate migrant worker, traveling the multiverse looking for a niche that I could fill."

"Wait a second. Host? What do you mean? You're Protheus...right?"

OOC: Oh, Evilfusion. Turns out I somehow managed to misread the wikia on Dupe Frogs about 7 times in a row. Haha. Oh well. Still seems like a really odd loophole in an effect to just let slip by, althought it's viable since Frogs aren't really that popular in the first place. I run a water deck and I still don't like Frogs.

FinalFan, Merciful Idiot, I ask you, PLEASE COME TO THE SAME PLACE EVERYONE ELSE IS IN. From my understanding you're not even in the same CONTINENT. I mean, christ.

IC: Nick walked into the infirmary, looking almost a tad worrier, he had been practicing his acting all day in the hopes that he would be able to be so nice that he could wrap Jane around his finger... Then force her to the ground in agony. He smirked at the thought of it. He quickly wiped it off to see her, "I came as soon as I got the phone call! Young miss you took quite a dive in the bathroom hallway there, what a shame! You missed a really good ending to the duel, honestly. You must've broken your shoulder, you hit the ground so hard! I was honestly very surprised such a small woman like you could hit the ground so intensely. You made a very loud crash, honestly. I carried you all the way from the infirmary, are you feeling well? It'd be a shame to lose such a good duelist in this tournament, after all, you're the great Jane Numire! Queen of Lightsworns! Am I wrong?" He smiled innocently. He looked so different for this moment in time. His eyes were opened all the way, there was a great big smile on his face, and his hair was off to the side instead of in his eyes. He looked nothing like the dirty, envious sin that he was. This was truly a devious plan, and he grinned even wider at the thought of sucking her soul dry.

Serenade looked over to the man standing in her doorway. She noticed him from somewhere. At first everything was fine, and then she realized. That's the man from the hallway! He was whispering into that strange man's ear that kept staring at me... This makes me really uncomfortable. "Yeah, I can feel it. It feels almost as if someone stabbed me with my own bone..." she then freaked out, "Wait! The duel ended!? Oh my god, is he okay?!" she started to panic a little more, she was afraid she would pass out, but she calmed herself down just a little, reassuring herself that he was fine. She then glanced over once more, "Yes. I am a rather renowned duelist and I do run lightsworns."

Upon contact with the Unifrog's horn, Kane's lifepoint counter went to zero. With that, he fell to his knees in defeat. "I can't believe I lost. I was THIS close to winning!" He said, anger and grief in his eyes. Suddenly, he felt a great pain in his chest, as if his very essence was being forcibly torn from his body. At that moment, he remembered what Madeline had said before the game. "So what do you say, Kane? Are you willing to make a little wager? If you duel me and win, I'll return your card. If it's a draw, the card remains mine until a rematch. And if you're wondering what happens when you lose... Then the shadows claim your soul. So what will you do, Kane? Does the card mean that much to you?" He realized that this pain was his soul being sucked out, however impossible it sounded.

Astrum, too, was feeling this pain; the agony bringing the great dragon to the ground. He held his claws to his chest as he fell, his weight shaking the room. Kane was losing conciousness, and his thoughts started racing. "What do I do? How do I get out of this? This pain.... I can't take it. Someone, something help me PLEASE!"

At that moment, a transparent, green, spherical force field encased Kane's body. He felt at ease, and the pain began to fade. The back of his right hand tingled and he looked down to find a glowing green Kanji symbol, the same one found on WIND monster cards, emblazoned upon it. "What is this? What on earth is going on?" he said, astonished.

A voice spoke to him. A deep, thoughtful, soothing voice. "You asked for help, and I have given it to you. You posses a fragment of my own spirit, which I have brought to life through that mark on your hand."

"What? Who are you? And why did you give me your spirit or whatever?" Kane said aloud.

"Only you can hear my voice, Kane. That mark, the mark of WIND, is proof that you are destined for great things. You are one of the chosen who will save this world. Let it guide you, it knows the right path for you to take. It will protect you, and those you care about. This is all I can say for now. Go, and prepair for the trials to come." With that the voice, and the force field, faded away. The mark stopped glowing as well, but was now emblazoned in green upon his hand. Kane stood holding his duel disk, a bewildered look on his face.

"Whoa, so he lost....." Elliot stated as he watched the duel end. "That girl was really tough." Dan gave a grin and walked off. "(Well, well, Madeline..... I applaud you for putting on such a wonderful show, hehe.....)" Dan thought to himself as he continued to walk off. Elliot then saw Kane fell to the ground in agony, however, he wasn't able to see Astrum. "What the?! What's happening to him?!" Elliot was confused about the events that was transpiring. Just then a green force field formed around Kane, Elliot was bewildered by what he'd just saw. Dan stopped moving away and looked back. "What the-" After the force field had disappeared, Elliot ran over to Kane. "Hey are you alright? And what was up with that transparent dome just now?" Elliot asked, still a little bit in disbelief. Dan noticed the force field disappearing and a mark had formed on his hand. "What- Don't tell me he's one of them? Tsch, well, no worries...." Dan stated.

Madeline snickered to herself as Kane's LP meter struck 0, the holograms of her monsters fading away. In a swift motion, she slipped away from the dueling site, and walked quickly down a side corridor, intent on avoiding attention from anyone who may appear now that the duel had been concluded. She would have loved to watch the shadows claiming her prize, but the duel itself had drawn too much attention as it was, and not all the onlookers had been colleagues.

"Such a fun young man," Madeline mused, removing her deck from the deactivated disk and replacing in the deck box clipped at her left hip. She casually flicked one card from her Extra deck, admiring the sparkling surface of what was once considered to be Kane's Stardust Dragon. "And now I have you as a real prize," she cooed to the card, snickering as she made her way up a small flight of stairs that would lead to an observation deck overseeing the stadium duels.

She flicked her silver hair from her face with a casual gesture, drawing the attention of a passing young man, but she ignored him this time. What she needed to do now was find somewhere where she could switch her outfit for a while, into her preferred robe, obscuring enough of her identity in case an observer managed to identify her qualities. A young woman of her physical appeal would be quite memorable, and as soon Kane would cease to be living in this world, the possible accusations towards her could end up getting messy.

Stealing a card and instigating a shadow duel may be frowned upon, even though it was just the type of excitement she needed.

Nick shushed her as she started to freak out, "He's fine, he's fine. Would you chill out? Perhaps you should go out and see how he's doing. Nurse, I think this fine woman is in fantastic shape to leave the infirmary. Her arm's just a little bruised, see?" He shook her arm a little, enjoying the pain he'd obviously be causing, but also trying to just seem nice and get her out of there. He mouthed, "I'm sorry, I know this hurts, just go along with it." He then put her arm down gently and walked out of the infirmary, regardless of whether or not she was following, "By the way, the name is Zack. Zack Kynto."

Jane got up with the assist of Nick's arm, then he started talking to the nurse, and all of a sudden grabbed her broken arm and started shaking it. She tried her hardest not to wince in pain, but it felt like a knife to her side it hurt so bad. Her arm was pulsating in agony as she turned away and wiped a tear from her eye. She watched Nick, or as she knows him, Zack, walk out of the room, and she was about to follow him when she felt something. Something strong out in the hallway, Could it be that man that was dueling the silver haired woman? She thought curiously as she simply wrapped her arm in bandages and covered it with an ACE bandage and ran into the hallway. She saw Kane on his knees with Elliot beside him, asking if he was alright. She gasped, holding her hand close to her chest as she took a step back, fearing he may be injured. She runs over to him and kneels beside, "Oh my god, are you alright sir? Elliot, what happened to him? I was worried this would happen!"

Elliot looked in surprise to see Jane. "Jane it's you. Well, I don't really know what happened. The other girl won the duel and just walked off, then he just fell to the floor screaming in pain. A weird green force field thing appeared and then disappeared. Now there's this weird mark on his hand. It looks like the wind symbol on the cards. That's all I really now. However, he seems alright now I guess...." Elliot explained. He then turned back to Jane. "Oh yeah Jane, how about you, are you alright?" Elliot asked in concern. Dan simply walked off, not caring about what had just happen due to his pride.

Jane nodded, "Weird... Very weird. Wait, is that the Wind Kanji symbol?... What an odd phenomenon." She summons Ronoa, The Lifestealer as he appears from pure light behind her, she turns around "Ronoa, would you know anything about this kind of occurance?"

"Not quite. It's very unfamiliar to me. I would definitely assume he has some connection to the Kanji symbol he shares with his dragon. Am I correct, dragon?" He turns around to Astrum with a motion of his hand.

"Should I repeat this to you? My soul was torn into a million pieces, and each piece was sent across the multiverse, some are inside other hosts right now, others are crystallized and hibernating in the desert or the ocean, waiting for a host to inhabit. However, Ran's soul was strong enough to stop me from completely taking over him. Right now, I talk only on his permission." He then paused and stared at the person closely. He was familiar, but he was probably unimportant enough to be forgotten. "Oh, that's right. You're Bezzma, am I right? Yes, I'm Protheus, the one who helped you fight off those other people on your D-Wheel, and you're Bezzma, the one who has a crush on that Trudge girl."

((Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. You do remember Desn'a origins, right? He used to be leader of Team Rocket, and like most people in Team Rocket, he has a little bit of a quirk...))

Desna's eye started to twitch as Itsu backed up. "Umm, Protheus, you might want to apologize right now, because-"

"It's not 'Bezzma', or 'Destra', 'Benzaie', or 'Mimsy'. It's Desna." He then smirked maliciously. "Here. LET ME SPELL IT OUT!!!"

Before Protheus-Han could react, Desna had closed the gap between them, and pulled his fists back, dealing a blow with each letter. "D! E! S! N! A!" He then switch to kicks. "A! D! A! T! S!" With that last punch, Desna suspended Protheus-Han in the air, and pulled back his left foot all the way. "DESNA..." He cried out, kicking the combined entity 30 feet into the air, then Desna jumped up to meet his target, all the while preparing to execute a punch."ADATS!!!" He punched Protheus through the outside wall of a nearby third-floor apartment, out the opposite wall, and into the outside wall of the building across the street from the apartment.

"That's my name. Don't wear it out." Desna replied as he landed, then casually walked away.

"Shouldn't we go check on him?" Itsu asked, sounding a bit worried.

"If he's as legendary as you said he was, it should just be a scratch." Desna replied, walking past Itsu.

Itsu looked at Desna, looked at the wall, then leapt up to the hole, went through the apartment building, and over to Protheus.

"I'm so sorry, but Desna is a bit...well, he has a very short fuse. Something about being a Fire and Dark-type Trainer or something. Anyways, please, I beg of you, don't try to get Desna back for him beating you up. From what I can gander, his name was mocked ever since he was little, so he punishes anyone who gets it wrong. He's just a very troubled young man, but a god friend of mine."

"Can you just shut up for once in your life, Izum-errr...Itsu? Troubled man or not, I swear the next time he does that, I'm going to bury his head in the ground, live." Protheus asked. If he were complete, his soul would easily regenerate the pain, but he was not. "I wish I had my sword with me. Then I would cut him into a million pieces." He got up. But it was difficult to think.

Real bright. Remember the rules? DON'T. DAMAGE. MY. BODY.

And you shut up too.

Protheus got up, dusted himself off as if it were a scratchand walked back to Desna. "That was much more than a scratch. But, as angry as I am with you, I had had six thousand years to control my anger, unlike you, who had only lived through one one-thousandth of my life. That damage you had caused me just now was significant, but not significant enough, Dessna."

Desna was about to repeat his lecture, but Itsu stopped them from fighting.

"Stop it, both of you! Desna, he isn't worth it. Protheus, why are you here? Desna and I are on vacation. A very well-deserved vacation, thank you very much."

"Pleeease, Itsu, let me show this guy why you don't cross me! He even thinks I'm really my age!"

Desna unbuttoned his suit, then his suit, showing "Protheus" a section of his chest that looked to be made out of Itsu's nanites.

"I'm as immortal as Itsu, as ageless as I want to be, and I've been 20 for several relative centuries now, though Itsu's still my senior by millennia. She saved me from certain death when we first met, and I've been indebted to her ever since."

Nick walked around, he was searching for a very specific person. Madeline. He wanted to know what the whole commotion was about and the fact that everyone knew but him made him jealous. He walked around into the hallway to see them all catering to Kane, who was on the ground in pain, but seemingly alright, "Tch." He scoffed as he continued looking for her. He turned a corner to find a small flight of stairs and looks down a hall to see her hair. He walks faster to now to tail her down, after a small time of chasing, he tracks her down.

He quiets down his voice and talks into her ear from behind her, "Madeline, what was that all about back there? There was an awful lot of commotion for a small duel. What exactly did you just do?" He whispers as he checks over his shoulder to make sure he saw no familiar faces tailing him.

Madeline slowed her walking pace when she heard Nick speaking behind her. She gave a very soft snicker, glancing sideways to observe him from the corner of her eye. Now that the duel had been concluded, she had no issue with responding to him.

"The young man was quite naive, I was having a little fun by stealing his ace monster," she answered, holding up the pilfered Synchro card. "He found out sooner than I expected and his pet dragon dared threaten me when they caught up."

She snickered again, turning the stolen card around in her fingers. "The card was wagered in a duel. If I won, it would remain mine and his soul would be claimed in the usual manner. If he won, it would be returned, but he had no chance to truly win against my deck," she mused. "He was nothing special, really. Had a number of rare and powerful dragon Synchro monsters, but that was all...that was all."

She stopped and turned to face him fully, her violet eyes observing Nick with mild interest. "It attracted a number of onlookers is all. I doubt more than one or two of our colleagues knew what the duel was about," she mused, flicking her hair to the side. "One less fool in our way, really."

Nick nods, and actually lets out a solid laugh when he sees the dragon, "Wow. This is such cake. You didn't even have to expose your Earthbound? I assume if you had, there would have been a lot more commotion." He looks back with his perceptive yellow, catlike eyes once again to check for someone that's been staring a little too long.

He sees nothing and once again faces Madeline, "When exactly did this duel go on? I saw the girl that fainted and the kid that stood next to Dan for a little while kneeling next to him. He was all glowy and stuff. Made me kind of jealous, I wish I could do that. Why is it insolence always gets the better things?" He said with a snicker, "I've set in a good disguise as Zack Kynto on the petite one, a sweet boy with a spellcaster deck." He laughs as he holds his new deck in the air.

"I got it off of some overconfident kid who wanted my earthbound immortal. I wagered a card, and he, unknowingly, wagered his soul and a free deck to go with it. How easy. Hah. Anyway, back on the topic of the girl. Her name is Jane Numire, and she plays with Lightsworns." He looks back once more, and ushers Madeline along, "Lets keep moving. Anyway, she didn't see anything that's always on me except for my eyes. Didn't have contacts on me at the time. I feel like an idiot, but nothing I can't get around." He continues to walk down a hallway, "Why are you up here, anyway?"

Desna was about to go toe to toe again with "Protheus", until three large hexagonal canisters fell from the sky. Desna was shocked, but Itsu was curious. Itsu opened one of the capsules, and pulled out a letter, skimmed it, then handed it to "Protheus".

"This is for you."

Desna opened the canister nearest him, and handed Itsu her letter, while Itsu gave Desna his.

"Hmm...an invitation to some sort of local tournament. Should we accept?"

"Why not?"

"Because we're supposed to be on vacation! And we agreed, no children's card games while on vacation, especially on motorcycles!"

"Aww, cheer up, Desna! This could be fun! The three of us could make a team: Team Timewarp!"

Madeline chuckled, the sound coming off as sweeter and more innocent than her earlier demeanor. "No, the hummingbird stayed in her nest this time," she said. "Fortunate for those nearby, to say nothing of our cover."

"The duel had been in its ending stages when you first arrived," Madeline answered, tapping her chin. She wasn't sure what to make of his ramblings and so chose to ignore them, walking with him.

"Lying low for a bit, albeit on higher ground," she replied, glancing at him. "Lightsworns?" she repeated, tapping her chin thoughtfully. "And you know her name so clearly? You've paid her quite a bit of attention for a brief encounter," she noted, a teasing gleam in her eyes. "And got her to look into your eyes..." she giggled innocently. "Wonder what that says about you?"
