He nodded, "Hmm. Odd indeed, I wonder how that happened, anyway. I came back after the duel was over to inspect when I saw it then, for sure. Oh well. Nothing we can't handle."

 

He laughs again, "I'm trying to play a humanly romantic as well as I can, okay? Perhaps I'm too good at it. Nah, no way, why else would I know you? Right?' he chuckled as he walked around, looking through his new deck.

 

"I plan on trying to get the girl to fall for me, and when she least expects it, sucking her soul dry with the divine power of my water deck and Chacu. Devious as always." he looks around once more.

 

"Well in that case, I'll leave. I don't want us to be too close together if your cover is still hot. Meet up later?"

IC: Dan walked towards the Kane, Elliot, and Jane with intentful eyes. "Wow, that was a good duel." Dan stated. "Huh, oh it's you again. By the way, I didn't catch your name last time. I'm Elliot by the way." Elliot stated as he held his hand out for a handshake. "Humph....." Dan walked away from the scene. "You'll find out soon enough...." Elliot akwardly retracted his hand. "What was that about?" Elliot asked himself in confusion. Dan after a while of walking stopped and looked around. "Huh, I wonder where Nick and Madeline is, with that said, I wonder what happened to Tyson? Did he got attack by a pack of wolves or something? Oh well, no matter....." Dan made his way around trying to find the others.

Jane was still trying to get a reaction out of the shocked Kane when that man came over and just, seemingly taunted Kane, then just walked away after denying a handshake with Elliot.

 

"What a weird guy..." she says as she still senses that vibe about him. She thinks to herself, But he was talking to Zack, and he's such a nice guy... Maybe he's just an awkward personality? Eh... I don't know. That's awfully suspicious. Ronoa stood there, patiently waiting an answer from Astrum.

"Hmm..... I guess everybody can be a little weird sometimes, oh well, it's just how people are, hehe." Elliot stated with a sincere smile as he looked back to Kane. "(I wonder if he's gonna be alright..... he looks like he just saw a ghost..... I mean losing a duel couldn't be that bad, could it?.....)" Elliot then faced Jane. "Well, today sure was an interesting day for me. Hmm.... I wonder if the tournament is still on? Maybe..... By the way, have you gotten your chance to duel in the tournament yet Jane?" Elliot asked curiously. Dan continued his way through the hallways and finally saw a flight of stairs, however this area appeared pretty dark. "Hmm.... Those two sure have a knack for disappearing, right when I'm trying to tell them something, sheesh...."

[Serenade]

Jane nodded, "Indeed. I wouldn't exactly call you normal. Hahaha." She laughed and she pulled up her skinny jeans and readjusted her straps. She looked back, she thought she heard footsteps of some kind, "No, not yet, unfortunately. I can't wait to just tear apart my victim with my Lightsworns. Haha. It's a rather nastily strong deck, if you ask me. Lots of speed, lots of power." She pulls out her cards from the bright blue deck box on the belt loops on the side of her jeans, and waves it back and forth, "This is my ticket to proving just because I'm small doesn't mean I can't whip some serious ass!"

"A romantic?" Madeline repeated with a snicker. "You mean the type of person no one trusts because they're too nice and dance around the serious questions? No, you're right, that is a good idea. Very fitting. Reminds me why hitchhiking after dark is stupid."

 

"It would be devious if you had more to accomplish than a single soul," she continued, glazing her words with indifference. "She sounds irrelevent, but I'm sure she's special to you."

 

"If you meet up with an attractive woman while 'wooing' your little catch, you'll only appear less sincere," she mused. "In any case, I'll likely just be wearing my robe next. This outfit is a bit too bleh for my taste. I need to give the guys a little mystery to dwell upon," she smirked.

Nick nods, trying to take the edge off of some of Madeline's words, "Chill there, chick. Normally it wouldn't be this way, but there's something really weird about her. I swear, she's got something that I can't quite put my finger on."

 

He continues to walk down the hallway with her, "Besides, I didn't say she had to fall in love with me, I just want her to trust me. But let me know if you find an attractive woman I can walk with, okay?" He nudges her with his arm in a playful manner.

 

In some ways, Nick still had his humanlike qualities. He almost believed he might be falling for Madeline. How odd, two sins falling for each other. A match made in hell, for sure.

 

"Well anyway, I'm gonna go track down Dan. I'll see you later in my usual get up, I need to get out of this nerd tread." He points to the name brand hoodie he's wearing with baggy jeans. He much prefered his normal jeans and his sleeveless shirts. He split away from Madeline and went down in a small corridor back towards the stairs where he bumped into Dan.

 

"Dan! I almost didn't see you there. Follow me, we need to talk and I need to get back into my normal clothing."

Elliot blushed a little as he saw Jane pulling up her jeans and readjusting her bra strap. "{Blushing} ......." Elliot then calmed down. "Hey I'm not that weird am I?....." Elliot then saw Jane pulling out her cards. "Wow those look awesome! Too bad I'm not in this tournament though, {Sigh}" Elliot then pulled out a sea blue deck box from his pocket. "Well, I'm a user of Ice Barrier cards." Elliot stated as he pulled out his deck, revealing Brionac, his ace card.

 

Dan then saw Nick walking towards him. "Well there you are-" Dan's words were interupted as Nick bumped into causing Dan to fall back to the ground. Dan quickly stood up. "Ah! Watch where you're going will ya?!" Dan then calmed himself again. "Normal clothes? Seesh, you mean that bath towel you call a robe, I much rather where real normal clothes for a change...."

Jane obviously noticed Elliot's blushing, but chose not to embarrass him in public. Jane took Elliot's news oddly, "Not in the tournament? That's peculiar. How exactly did you get in then?" she laughs in a cute manner, and draws attention to the cards in front of her, "Ohhh. I can't say I've dueled many of those. To be honest, they seemed a bit rare, but I could be wrong. I've always personally been very about LIGHT cards. I've run the predominant meta every time they existed." she looked around in her lightsworn deck and searched for her ace card that was a lightsworn itself. She pulls out Judgement Dragon and lets him see it, "I run two of them in my deck."

Nick scoffed, "You HONESTLY think I'm talking about that tawdry rag? Skinny jeans and ripped sleeve shirts dude, get with it! How long have you known me? Anyway, I heard Madeline had a shadow with some kid and ripped him up and got his ace card. He was on the ground when I last saw him, he was probably dying, with 2 people he doesn't even know, realizing he's got nothing left. Haha. Nothing to even want from his kind." He walks into a bathroom and takes off the clothes he was wearing over his usual ones.

 

"I can't even imagine how these people can wear this kind of stuff. It's so stuffy. So do you have any intel on the group that was in there? I know the girl's name is Jane Numire."

Elliot fell backwards as Jane reminded him that people who aren't in the tournament were not suppose to be in here. "(Uh-oh, I forgot about that......) Umm, well you see I kinda snuck in here, hehe...." Elliot stated with a nervous smile as he nervously scratch the back of his head. Elliot then saw Judgement Dragon and his eyes widened as he saw the shine from the card. "Wow..... Judgement Dragon..... man, those are really rare and powerful.... Compare to Judgement Dragon, my Brionac seems so weak....." Elliot stated. "I'm suppose to have two more dragons, but....."

 

-Meanwhile-

 

"Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Sorry, I've been hanging out with Madeline for some time today, and keep remembering that awful robe. I mean sheesh, doesn't she fell cold in that or something?" Dan stated as he gave a sigh. "Anyways, I don't really know much. I met this Elliot kid, he seems to have some spirit energy coming from him, but not really something to be concern about at all. Oh yeah, and that Kane guy. He might be one of the you-know-who, if you catch my drift." Dan stated.

Nick rolls his bright yellow eyes, "Ch'yeah. She has no idea how to dress for the occasion. For someone who LOVES to flaunt her stuff to randoms I never seem to get any. Jeez, freakin people are so lucky. I'm jealous."

 

Nick continues walking and then stops dead in his tracks, "Do you know something I'm supposed to know about this spiritual energy? Cuz if it's something special, I think we may have our hands full with something..." he thinks back on the fact that maybe Jane could be one of whatever Dan is talking about.

Madeline said nothing in reply to Nick, merely rolled her eyes. Really, did he think she disapproved of his attempts to manipulate the naivity of the innocent. She stroked the surface of the pilfered Stardust Dragon, smirking to herself. If it weren't for her innocent and bubbly exterior in play with Kane's distracted and trusting nature, this card would never have worked its way into her hands.

 

After a moment, it occurred to her what the Envy Sin had said, but soon dismissed it. It didn't matter to her what his objectives were, or what eccentricities he picked up from the girl he was baiting.

 

She stopped off in the ladies room, making her way over to a changing stall, where she had earlier stashed her favored robe. Normally, she expected that some people might find such an outfit tacky, or unnecessarily drab at best, but she loved it. The feel of the fabric on her skin, the flowing material, particularly if she was riding a vehicle, and, of course, the way the hood accented her beautiful cheeks and teasingly revealed some of her lovely hair, enhancing her natural appearance tenfold. If such an outfit didn't ensnare her opponents' attention, her behavior often did.

 

It took her only a few moments to dress, shedding the blouse and skirt she had worn before for her preferred outfit. Like her previous one, it ended with a skirt-like bottom rather than a typical robe's, but the hooded end still ended further down her legs. She chuckled to herself and placed the hood over her head, making it far more difficult to identify her face and head, without the silvery hair to rely upon.

[Serenade]

Jane wiggles her finger up and down as if to scold him, "Bad Elliot! Sneaking into places. Heehee." she plays off her dragon nonchalantly, "Oh please, these things aren't that great. I mean, they're a big help, but I've won duels with and without them." She points to the Ice deck, "Besides, I'm positive there's a lot of heavy hitters in there I should be scared of! Ah, well, forget about it. I really want to know if this kid's okay, but he's just sitting there, traumatized, along with his dragon. It's so... weird." she puts her pointer finger to her lips and taps her lips repeatedly, as if to ponder the situation.

"What? You don't know about spirit energy? Sheesh, I hate explaining things..... Im pretty sure the Order has said something about that..... Umm, let me see. I guess if you have high spirit energy, that'll make you be able to see duel spirits and help you to connect with your deck more. Also, the Order said that some specific people who has high spirit energy may be one of the Six, if you catch my drift.... However, that Elliot guy is not one of them, I mean his spirit energy is almost on par with a regular person, so no need to worry about him. With that Kane guy, I definately sense something strong, and with that other girl, Jane I believe her name was. Well yeah it's almost as if she's one of the Six too. Hehe, but no need to worry, we'll crush every one of them, one by one...."

 

-Meanwhile-

 

"Well... I didn't mean to cause any harm when I snuck in here... I was just curious... And well, I guess my deck's okay... Just wish I knew where my other two dragons are at...." Elliot then looked at Kane. "I know, it's like he's seen a ghost, kinda scary." Elliot then looked back to Jane. "Dragon? What Dragon are you talking about?"

Nick nodded, very understandingly, "Yes... Yes. I see. Well that is EXTREMELY unnerving. She is definitely one of them. She had this card in her hands when she fell. I felt something... strong off of that card when I held it in my hands. It was definitely scary. Regardless, I'm trying to get her to trust me at the moment, although it doesn't seem to be working just yet. I'll get her though, don't you worry."

 

Nick looks down the area they happen to be walking in when he sees what might be Madeline's hood, it was hard to tell with all the spectators buzzing around, though. They must be close to the arena. He motions for Dan to follow him as he goes running down the hallway trying to catch her in this sea of people.

Jane nods understandingly, "Why yes, yes. Who wouldn't? This is quite a spectacle they've got going on here!" She points her arm in the direction of the flight of stairs, where a roar of commotion can be heard from the arena exits. She looks back over to Elliot, "What... Do you not see it? I mean, it's a big dragon, kinda hard to miss..." she points right to where it is, as if to not try to seem insane, too late, she supposed. After all, she was a scene girl in a pink tank top with blue-gray skinny jeans with the pant-legs all practically inside of huge converse boots. Awfully hard to not look just a little out of place.

"Tsch, two of them in one place huh? Well, it might make for a good tag match now wouldn't it?" Dan stated as he crossed his arms. Dan then also noticed Madeline's hood on the ground. "Huh, she must be close by." As Dan looked up he noticed Nick running off, motioning Dan to follow. "GAH!!! W-wait up!" Dan then began to run after Nick, but then stopped as he got into the sea of people. "Damn it, I can't run out here. I'll look like an idiot. My pride won't allow that!" Dan began to brush through the crowds, trying his best to catch up with Nich while not attracting unwanted attention.

 

-Meanwhile-

 

Elliot then looked at where Jane was pointing, not seeing anything in particular. "Uhh...... I really don't see any dragon per say." Elliot then felt quite a shock on his chest. "Gah.... damn it.... not now..... Sorry Jane.... but I'm gonna be out for awhile..... I'll explain when I wake up....." Elliot then collapsed back, his face showing a peaceful expression.

Madeline rejoined the light flow of people bustling through the halls. Surprisingly, it didn't seem like anyone thought she looked out of place with her outfit. It paid that duelists were often viewed as eccentric individuals and she barely even scraped the surface of what could be considered 'odd'. Once she had seen someone cosplaying as Red Dragon Archfiend, and another as Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Boundary. Yeah...they were weird, weird people.

 

She expected by now that the commotion surrounding her duel had faded away to nothingness, but she would not be so foolish as to return to the scene until later. By now, the soul and life of that foolish young man was bound to be gone, and it would do her well to attract less attention past this point.

Nick continued to run, knowing for sure he sees Madeline. He saw someone similar before, but that was definitely her. He noticed had lost Dan and started running faster when he noticed something. Perhaps it was better if they weren't together... Ah screw it, he thought.

 

He comes up and taps her back with his finger as he circles around her to her right, his hair respiked, and his normal clothes adorned, "So apparently that kid you wasted is more than you thought, and so is Jane. You're POSITIVE it's done?" He put an edge on "it's" to refer to the shadow duel without any real suspicion to be raised if they were being listened to.

IC: Kane snapped back into reality, sitting up with a jolt. He breathed deeply and looked around the hall. He noticed Elliot and Jane conversing. "Soooooooo, how long was I out for?" He asked, slightly embarassed that he had let himself go to pieces in front of a large group of people. Astrum, on the other hand came in looking calm, although Kane could tell he was desperately trying NOT to show how troubled he actually was. The dragon spoke as he hovered in "I'm guessing he lost, seeing as he's on the ground right now." He said, directing his statement at Elliot and Jane but talking to neither one in perticular.

 

-Meanwhile-

 

In a dimly lit control room inside sector security HQ, an agent had just finished typing up a report for the director on Madeline and Kane's duel. He quickly ran down the halls and into a cylindrical chamber, where a Turquiose dragon stood. "Director, its just as you predicted. I've confirmed duelist Kane Scalind as the Elemental Guardian of WIND. The report here has the details."

"Very good Gredon. I'll see to it that all preperations are made. I want you to take this speech to Sub-Director Kansanass to give at the tournament tommorow. I'm sure the other five will be present, so keep your eyes peeled."

"Yes, director." With that order, Agent Gredon went to deliver the speech, and the wheels were set in motion toward the ultimate confrontation with Chaos....

[Serenade]

Jane was rather worried by his reaction to not seeing the dragon. Was this thing she saw just an apparition? What about Ronoa... Was he fake too? Was she just plain insane? She couldn't be sure for now. She went to speak again when she saw Elliot seemingly hurt by something, "Elliot? Elliot!?" She screams as Elliot passes out and falls to the ground. Kane then sat up, "Oh thank goodness, Kane. Elliot just.. passed out! What happened to you?!- Wait, Kane. You can see your dragon, right? Elliot mentioned not being able to see him. But I can... You see him, right?"

Madeline gave Nick a weird look, recognizing him despite his change in appearance. "What are you blathering about?" she demanded. "I won the duel and of course I'm sure the 'game' was in-session. I'm not one to mess up something like that!" She turned the corner, only to bump into a man walking in the opposite direction. She recoiled a pace, about to snap something about the man watching where he was going, but the words never left her throat.

 

The man was tall and confident, not much older than her, and wearing a business suit of some sort. His long black hair was tied back in a ponytail, save for a few strands that remained before his face. Sharp green eyes looked both Nick and Madeline over, giving them dim nods of recognition.

 

"Mingling together so soon?" he asked quietly. "What is this about a 'Game'?" he asked sharply, his emphasis on the word enough to assure them that he knew precisely what the term referred to.

 

"Oh, Mr. Enzyme," Madeline gushed, adopting her cutesy innocent tone. "We were just talking about a casual game, nothing serious," she lied through her teeth, knowing full well that the Herald would not fall for the lie.

 

Derek Enzyme frowned at them, turning his gaze to Nick instead. "What is it?"

[a coffee]

Nick shoved Madeline, "Are you really that stupid?" He then turns his focus to the man in front of him,

 

"I can't talk about it here. Walk with me?" he motioned down a hallway somewhere off down the arena pathway, where they could talk about the conspiring events, "It's a desperate matter that we need to take care of. Fast. Oh, and to that last statement, of course we're talking. I'm the only one with half a brain to do anything around here. I have to keep them informed." He played jokingly with Madeline.

Derek's frown deepened. "I'm not going to like this, am I?" he sighed, nevertheless walking down the hallway Nick gestured to. Oh, he had better not have bad news to tell.

 

Madeline glared at Nick. "I'm not stupid," she hissed. "I'm amazed you're not Pride, you're so full of yourself!" she growled under her breath, following after Derek with a trace of nervousness. She forced herself to calm down, her anger being soothed by the thought that just maybe something not caused by her could have gone wrong. There was always the chance she'd have to fix it in her own way.
