I haven't bought a pack of cards since before that pack when Gladiator Beasts were released. I stopped following the game soon after the release of Synchro cards or whatever they are called. Now I suddenly find myself with a load of free time, so I was wondering what I needed to know to get back into the game. I'd like to partake in a few on-line duels before deciding whether or not to start purchasing cards so if anyone still uses YVD or there is a new alternative and would be willing to help be experiment with the new strategies please say so. evilfusion Posted June 5, 2010 Report Share Posted June 5, 2010 A ton of cards in the packs past The Duelist Genesis (the start of Synchros) involved easy and I mean EASY recycling of monsters from the graveyard. Zombies and Plaguespeader were a big issue too. But summoning from the graveyard is now such a common mechanic that being able to draw every time you did it was broken. Zauls Posted June 6, 2010 Report Share Posted June 6, 2010 The game has advanced massively since you stopped playing. I would suggest, if you are looking to make a good deck, buy 3x Machina Mayhem structures (Yes, a GOOD structure deck) and mix and match. Go to the Your Deck section and search Machina Gadget and you will find loads of different builds. Follow the build of a very experienced duelist and you are well on your way already. So i've built a deck on YVD for some testing, should be easy to make if it goes well since I've got the majority of cards from it.
