So Legit You Quit
Well, im no expert, But i have to say that the shading looks pretty good to me.
Jappio
I might give some, however I need to know what you're going for. I have an assumption the tail is meant to be a rock, but I'd rather know than assume before I get in deep. There's room to doubt it's rockhood. Jappio
Ok I know you're asking for help on the shading alone, but I will mention that the sprite could probably use a bit more to it. If it's a retype or a splice, it needs more to really stick out, rather than just Mewtwo with a rock on his tail. Ok I can see you used Geodude for this. You scratched where the face use to be. Problem is that Geodude's base shading is off the idea that he has a facial structure. Take away the eyes, but the shape is the same. This isn't too bad though since it is a rock. Rocks can be a bit obscure or random in shape and shading. Part of the problem I have is that it looks too smooth. I think you need to add a some lines all over the boulder. Geodude had a face to give his face a hard and rough look. You'll need to have some border that create some jagged edges and such. I'm not so sure I'm a fan of the lines at the bottom. They give it more of a wrinkled look, and that doesn't quite match. On the chest pieces, you have two different light sources. A highlight on the right and left edges. Only the one on the right should be there probably. So a lot of the shading on the rock you lucked out with, since I really do view rocks as one of the easier things to sprite. However there are other trick you can use to help it out I guess.
Demon From The Void
Ok new version added at the bottom. Question though, if the light source is on the left why is the highlight on the right the correct one?
Jappio
Well I'm stupid. I had meant the one on the left should stay. Either I was thinking the Pokemon perspective when I wrote that, or I just plain don't know how to talk properly. Sorry for misleading you.
