Magician's Code - Aether Dawn

SPELL / Continuous

Activate only by Tributing 1 Level 7 or higher LIGHT Spellcaster-Type monster you control. This card cannot be destroyed. If a player controls at least 1 face-up Spellcaster-Type monster, as long as this card remains face-up on the field, all Spell Cards they control can be played like Quick-Play Spell Cards and can be activated at any time after they are Set.

This card was inspired by the infamous anime Sky Colosseum duel, during which all rules and rulings went down the drain. It works in a simple fashion. The first effect is self-explanatory. If you have a Spellcaster out, you can activate Normal Spell cards as if they were Quick-Play Spell cards, chain them, set them and use them in your opponent's turn etc. The second effect negates the so-called "replays". Generally, if some effect triggers during the Battle Phase that changes the monsters on the field, you can cancel your attack, or choose a different target. This is no longer applicable - once you attack, you must continue attacking that same target, and if that target is no longer there the attacking monster must still battle immediately (obviously unless it's changed to Defense position etc).

This is probably not really playable for a variety of reasons, the most prominent of which being the blatant absence of high-Level magicians, barring, according to YVD, Silent Magician LV8, Arcanite and Arcanite /AM, Northwemko, and the ever-random Neos Wiseman. And of course, the fact that it messes around with rules and rulings which is generally bad. But it was made in the context of a story for which I was asked to design some cards, and since it's a nice twist, I decided to post it here. There is some support designed for it, which I might post in a later date.

Triggers don't work that way, I'm afraid. The replay is triggered by the number of monsters changing, which in turn is triggered by a card effect. It's the same reason you can't chain Destruction Jammer to Koa'ki Meiru Bergzak's effect, even if his second attack would destroy a monster.

The other part of the effect could probably have some use. The lack of high-level Spellcasters is a problem, though.

Yep, and this card just absolves replays altogether. It's a nod at some early anime mistakes differences (we're talking Duelist Kingdom), just like the rest of the effect mimics the Spell Sanctuary anime card. Since it's such a rule-messer it's not something you're likely to see in the TCG anytime soon, but it's intended for a fanfic anyway.

Except it doesn't. It negates replays that are triggered by card effects, which DON'T EXIST. Replays are triggered by the number of monsters changing, and nothing else. Just say that it negates replays, or that your opponent can't conduct a replay. I'm not sure on the correct term, but I know what you've posted doesn't work as intended.

...I just removed that part of the effect altogether. It was kind of random and didn't really match up. I may think of something else, or just leave it as is as it has very good potential if used in conjunction with Secret Village, and go make some support instead.
