"Don't you have any job to do?" Serius voice echoed through the almost empty inn where Velon was living at the moment. Velon sat in the corner of the diner hall, eating a beef.

"Actually..." He swallowed the piece of meet in his mouth. "I don't. Do you happen to know anyone who's willing to give me a job, then tell me." He kept on eating, and Serius remained quiet for a time. When Velon finally swallowed the final piece of beef he raised from his chair.

"Didn't thi..." He started, but was interrupted by Serius' dark voice.

"I think I know someone, but maybe you're not willing to take that job..."

"I'm willing to do anything for money, you know. Who's the employer?"

"An old friend of mine."

"Why'd you come in person?" Onis asked aloud.

"Do you really trust anyone else to do it?" Genner replied matter-of-factly. "And Cruz needs to learn some respect for his troops; we can't assign him away quite yet."

"Huh."

Genner was quite effectively disguised. He apparently had long red hair now, with a wind-blown hat upon it. He wore a beaten leather coat and tattered trousers -- not the attire one would ordinarily expect from a prospective conqueror of the world.

He blew open the door to the inn; Onis had called up a gale outside. He mouthed the words, "Hey, is there anyone called Velon stayin' here?" Onis provided his own thoroughly transmuted voice.

Genner had to think to himself that he would never be caught sleeping in an inn this suspicious.

"There is," the hideous middle-aged man that greeted him replied suspiciously. "Why do you care?"

"I was s'posed to meet 'im here," Onis growled. Genner lip-synced appropriately.

The man frowned. "Mm'kay," he said suspiciously. "He's right this way."

Velon, who was just about to leave to his room, didn't care when the door blew open, but he slowly turned his head around when he heard his name spoken.

"Yes?" He asked and looked at Genner.

"This is the one I meant!" Serius voice was heard from the purple gem.

"Oh, so you're my new employer!" Velon turned around completely and walked up to the newcommen man. "My name is Velon Momental, me and my friend, Serius, was just talking about you." A malicious smile was printed on his lips.

"So, what do you want us to do?" Serius asked, the gem glowing around Velon's neck.

"Time to head out to the next city before we get caught" said John, walking down the road. He had hundreds of (whatever the money is called), and was off to the next city, and his next scam. He came towards the border, and saw the guards stop a man. They searched him, and found a gem in the mans pocket. "What is a peasent like you doing with this gem as expenive like this?" The guards threw the man to the ground, and beat him. We need to find a way around them John whispered. John had an idea. He took out his book, and began drawing.

"Oh, that's not right. That's not right at all."

Apparently, two of the town's guards had snapped under the intense pressure Eien and Sitiens were putting on it. Now two were stooping to petty burglary, and adding in assault and battery to boot.

"So we intervene?" Nihil guessed.

"Forcefully."

"Cool. Which option do you want?"

"Oh... the Negation Field. We'd best avoid bloodshed."

Emily clenched her hands into fists for a moment, just long enough for faint white lights to begin floating around them. Then she threw them out to the side. Two glowing orbs were now floating in the air around her.

Scowling, she glided towards the errant guards. "Stop," she said once, in her most impressive and terrifying voice. After thinking for a moment, she flicked her wrist; motes of light showered out of her hands over the villains.

<<>>

Making sure the door was closed behind him, Genner removed his wig.

"I take it you know who I am," he said, folding his arms. "I'll be brief. The Eien group mobilizing near here plans to rise against me — you know who they are, of course. I expect the bulk of their force to be composed of elite mercenary troops directing volunteers. The volunteers are idiots that my forces can deal with... I need you to eliminate the mercenaries.

"It's too dangerous to exchange money here. If you'd like to take this job, wait a kilometer past the city walls due north-northwest in twenty-four hours, and one of my commanders will come and pick you up. I assure you that you will be well paid."

He donned his wig again. "Let's go," he muttered to Onis, blowing the door back open.

Alex overlooked the bullfighter's punishments- One was already down for the count, one- He thought, Gah! One is on the bull! Stop him! Stop him! This was madness. "Water Eyes, release!" He said from the other side of the square. The man out for the count was taken to prison. Alex personally ran at the other man & behind him. He did the Vulcan trick, which he found out KO's people after he tripped & accidently did it to Rosalinda. The other man fell, & was arrested. The bulls fled the scene, & Alex told Rosalinda, "I say we should go back." They then walked away & back to the castle.

Nyoko watched as Jeanne quickly subdued the unruly soldier and his comrades rushing him to the infirmary, wondering how those soldiers can remeber how to navigate this maze of a building.

"Wow Jeanne-sama, you really taught that guy a lesson. I hope you didn't hurt him too bad though, because people who get bonked on the head too hard too crazy," Nyoko marvelled, almost forgetting that she was holding a tray, its contents gathering to one side of the tray.

"Sorry I was late though. I still can't figure this building out yet, with all its rooms and stuff. There's so many and I get all confused and stuff...How do you remeber all the rooms and stuff Jeanne-sama?

"I've been ignored," Felicia noted.

"Quite," Casus agreed.

"That maid's got a point, though," the blonde frowned. She walked slowly and attentively, not trusting the complex around her one bit. "It'd help if most of these rooms actually went anywhere."

She stopped in front of a door. "Wish me luck," she said sarcastically. She threw open the door as dramatically as she could.

With the sort of amazing luck only Casus could give, she'd found her troop's residence. "Sweet!" she laughed. "Hope Luke didn't break into my room again."

Alec was sleeping. He had to take a nap because he took a longer walk than usual. When he took walks, he would go about a mile, half a mile there (which was nowhere) and half a mile back. It was more like a mile there and a mile back today. He was tired and hot, and he decided a nap woul be rejuvinating.

His bed was dusty and sandy, like the rest of his house. The house was basically a two floor, three room, abandoned house. Broken windows, doors weren't on their hinges correctly, and the floor creaked loudly.

Suddenly, he was woken by the creaking of the front door. He knew that sound, he'd been living here for 9 years. He sat up, and frowned. Someone was sneaking in? Why?

He went to the top of the stairs, carfeul to step in the noncreaky places. Not necessarily cneaking. There was a soldier-looking person looking around. Alec was confused. So he walked down the stairs, purposefully being loud. The person looked his way and waited.

"Who are you?" Alec asked, politely.

"I am a minion of Genner. I was assigned to find some people that would be willing to work for him. I ccame here to ask you...do you want to come?" The guy had a low, man voice.

Alec bit his lip. His face lit up and he said, "Sure! I would love to. Just let me get my staff..."

The guy went and waited at the door. Alec said, "Ready!" The guy raised his eyebrows and said, "Let's go."

~~~~
The man led Alec to a place where he was supposed to wait. There were supposedly others going to be there. Alec frowned when the man left him behind. Alec hated to be alone, because his whole life was lonliness. Now, he finally isn't lonely until the guy leaves. Alec stuck his tongue out at the guy when he wasnt looking.
Alec noticed that the city walls were in sight. Hmm, maybe the people would be coming from there...
Blood sprayed on the ground the source dripping to a source of metal having traversed through someone. "It's a shame." the dark voice began to say. "You were the first one to actually stand up, but you obviously weren't prepared....." It was obviously Cruz, once one could see what had stabbed was actually Cruz's Glove, having gone through his opponent, he had actually been a little worried.
"I have to say had that attack hit I would have been severely injured, but I wasn't going to let you beat me that easily, unfortunately for you, this isn't just a training camp, this is Lord Sitien's castle, and if you attack a commanding officer, you better hope you win or that's treason...." Cruz held up the soldier slowly twisting his glove causing him agonizing pain. "And Treason is punishable by death.....if you wanted to go to the infirmary all you had to do was break a leg....but challenging me means you get no such treatment....."after holding him for a few minutes his opponent had finally gave out.
"Anyone else care to try?" he asked those that had just viewed the execution, all of them continued working, seeing as he had no remorse in his eyes, and in fact he looked like he was willing to kill again. "Very well then, you can spend the rest of the day giving this man a proper burial, unlike you cowards he actually attempted to usurp me." He lowered the body to the ground and waved the blood off his claw. He turned around and simply left the area, saying nothing more.
Velon looked at Genner as he left, and had a malicious grin on his face.
"That was Genner, wasn't it?" Velon said, in a 'yes-I-know-it-was' tone.
"Yes. And Onis." Serius voice echoed through the empty room. "You are going to accept the job, right? Killing those Eien mercenaries could be fun."
"Indeed, and he said that I would be paid. Big time. But if the Eiens would pay me more, I will not hesitate to turn against him."
"He has one of the strongest spirits on his side, if not the strongest! Do you think it's smart to turn against him?"
"I'm happy as long as I get payed!"
Velon then walked outside. It had started to rain, and he started to walk towards the meeting location. But he walked slowly, as he had increased his own weight to train himself. He had plenty of time, so it didn't matter.
Jeanne said taking the plater and seting it down not wanting to miss her chance to make a good impression on some one, she grabs Nyoko's hand and runs along back to the complex building, fealing pillars here and there, slowly enough for nyoko to see smal indentations here and there. "Sorry, I made marks to remember where to go I'm not that amasing hee hee! Now! If I'm corect hes in section 3 so, one more corner."
"An impressive collection you have there."
A large crowd of people were now standing at the mercenaries' waiting point.
"They're a bit conspicuous, though," Genner pointed out dryly.
"They won't be there for long," Onis assured him. "By the way, we're down six men."
Genner rubbed his temples. That was the trouble with having an army of villains; they tended to act villainous towards their allies as well as their enemies. "Alright, that's it. Get Cruz up here, now. And send an envoy to get those mercenaries into the complex ASAP."
"Couldn't 'a said it better myself." An ominous feeling began to set in in Genner's underground lair; the conqueror's pyus was shining brilliantly. A dark mist began to pour forth from the terrible gemstone. Soon, it had formed itself into a small thundercloud, complete with crackling lightning. This was Onis's manifestation.
The living thundercloud set off to execute its will.
<<>>
"Oh."
That had been unexpected. After being completely ignored by the second-in-command earlier, she now had her visiting the Diligimurs' assigned quarters.
"Uh, hi," Felicia said awkwardly, trying to be cheerful, but simultaneously unsure of how to deal with Jeanne. "Uhm, can we help you? Everyone else is still out training 'n stuff, sorry," she explained.
Jeanne looked at her situation, she couldent help but give a huge grin like one Sora would give, "Ha Ha~! I guess I failed at the chance to give you a good impression of myself!" Jeanne got up and said to the girl, she just sincerely smiled, "Sorry about bumping in to you and forgeting you, I just get in the moment and become lug headed!"
Jeanne just noticed that Nyoko had fallen too she averted her attention to her and picked her up by her hands, "Sorry I dragged you into this Nyoko-Chan...." Jeanne said is a depressive tone, there was no real reson to take the maid away from her important duties, "I shouldent have taken you away from your duties."
"Ah, don't worry 'bout that! I got most of the chores done yesterday and the other maids got everything else under control. I'm free to attend to you today Jeanne-sama!" Nyoko replied to Jeanne's apology.
"And who's this person here? I don't think I've seen her before. Would you like some tea miss?" Nyoko asked, holding out the tray.
"Cruz had spent the remainder of his training on his own, he was on the lookout for any of his lord's messengers however. Who would have guessed on this normal looking day he would get an important messenger today. He stood up and bowed as he felt the presence of Onis. "Lord Onis, what news do you bring from Lord Genner? Am I to be summoned? if he sent you it must be urgent." He was polite and courteous to the ruler of the other world, and felt ashamed that his own Pyus was not there, making him look bad, though in truth she could have made this rather normal meeting a dreadful one.
"Yep," Onis confirmed. "Grab your own pyus, too. Umbra's gonna enjoy this." He cackled to himself as he floated away.
<<>>
Naturally, the guards, already in a frenzy, only turned their attention to Emily. They were arrested, then, not by the calm, controlled fury in her stare but by the lasers that burst out of the orbs of light she'd just summoned. She continued spraying light and lasers at the criminal guards until they were on the ground, unconscious.
"We may as well go around... get the rest of this filth," Emily suggested, her voice menacing. She began to glide away, negating a bit of friction here and a bit of gravity there to help speed her along.
"Sounds like a plan," Nihil agreed.
<<>>
"Uhm, sure, I guess," Felicia smiled at the maid. Turning back to the commander, she repeated her question. "So, uh, why'd you come down here?"
"Very well my Lord." He unsheathes his sword part-way and slices his finger so a single drop of blood could reach the floor, it summoned a small Portal and Umbra appeared beside them in a cloud of Dark purple smoke.
~Sheesh, I hate it when you do that......I could have been taking a shower...of course you would have liked that wouldn't you Cruz?~ she joked as she saw Onis and bowed. ~Let me guess....we're on call....this sounds like it could be fun if they sent you Lord Onis~ she stated with a devious smile.
"Well then we shouldn't waste any more time, lord enner wants us, it's best not to upset him with tardiness."
Genner would conduct the first part of his 'meeting' very unilaterally. When the stormcloud returned with his general, he kept his eyes closed and extended Onis's pyus, inviting him to return. The great spirit did so with pleasure.
Meanwhile, he gestured for Cruz to take a seat. When he did so, he finally began his long-awaited rant.
"Onis reports that we somehow have six less troops now than when we left," he began, calmly furious. "Seeing as our army is far too small as it is, and Onis and I have just been on a mad recruiting spree in hopes of possibly meeting a small army of vigilantes and mercenaries, I should think that, under a proper commander, our forces should be growing, not shrinking.
"That said, at least two of those troops were killed by your sword. The rest are unaccounted for, but it's possible they've either died of exhaustion, been killed by comrades... or, in a rather unpleasant scenario, defected, believing their conditions too harsh. In any case, the problem can easily be traced back to you.
"You're going to have to revise your training method. You don't have to be nice, but if we keep losing troops at this rate, it will be easy to find a replacement."
Now that he'd vented his frustration, Genner could concentrate on part two of his little meeting. He took a deep breath and continued.
"As aforementioned, Onis and I have been gathering boosters and skilled mercenary commanders to supplement our forces. Many of these are mages, so Onis will indubitably have them firmly under our control in a short time. If any of these troops are forced to leave, I will have the one responsible executed. This means that, until Onis can conquer them properly, they're going to have to be given certain... special treatments. You will abide this." The finality in his voice was palpable.
"In particular, we'd like you to begin integrating the mercenaries into the troops. They're mainly boosters, so you don't need to worry too much about them. However, there are mercenary commanders that we'd like the troops to have a certain level of loyalty towards. See to it that the troops familiarize themselves with their mercenary leaders, since those leaders will be in charge of smaller, more mobile divisions in the field in any further full-on conflicts with Eien.
"If you have any questions," he finished, "or comments, we welcome you to share them a this point. Otherwise, you are dismissed."
"I have absolutely nothing to say on the matter, your orders are absolute and I will follow my lord," He stood up and bowed, and while his face was straight Umbra didn't know whether or not to laugh or be angry at the fact that they considered them easily replaceable.
Cruz walked out of the room and kept walking, even he was a little angry at Lord Genner's words, but he couldn't let it show, he had more important things to do at the moment. Afterward when he had reached the staircase Umbra appeared next to him. ~Hey, don't let the old guys get you down.....~
He glared at her. "That has nothing to do with anything....right now we need to deal with the mercenaries. Then I will Have to....calm down....."
~That's gonna be boring....You're much more attractive when you work people to death....~
In the shadows outside Genner's meeting, Fenris listened, when he heard Boosters he dashed,and jumped out a window, "I must tell Arkana-Sama....", he said as she tranceformed in to a Perigun Falcon, and Spedd to the Base camp.
"Boosters?" Felicia muttered grimly. "Oh, that's no good."
Boosted opponents, the gambler knew from experience, were very, very annoying to face. Boosters loved to boost their charges' defenses, and Felicia didn't have much in the way of defense-piercing herself. Even her best defense-piercing cards were easily deflected due to their fragile natures and comparatively slow speeds. A good booster could turn a pathetic warrior into a grave threat.
"Well, with any luck," she punned, "the boost transmissions won't go so smoothly." She winked conspicuously at her pyus, free to talk to herself now that her commander had gone.
Suddenly, something occurred to her. "Say..." she suggested slyly to Casus.
"Oh, what now?" The luck spirit could easily sense Felicia's mischievous intent. Then again, a brick would probably sense that with little effort.
"We don't actually know where Commander Valtiel's headquarters are."
Felicia took off after her superior, praying to Casus that she wouldn't be discovered.
<<>>
"Welcome, gentlemen," the stormcloud announced. Onis had appeared to his pack of mercenaries.
"If you have come here, we assume that you're working for us. That's dandy. If you're not, well, everyone who is will kill you."
Needless to say, the great spirit received no dissent.
"Excellent. Many of your pyxides, I know, were some of my greatest allies back in the old days. It's great to see you again. Others, I might not know so well. Hopefully, we'll get to know each other a little better." He paused. "Okay, I admit it — I've gone soft. Attract more flies with honey than with vinegar and all.
"So, if you're coming with us, please step into that hole there." The ground rumbled at the weather spirit's cue. Slowly and silently, but surely, a large ravine quickly opened in the ground, with a gentle slope almost like a staircase."
"Feel free to push and shove," he added cheerfully. "Anyone who leaves my field of vision without stepping into that hole, dies."
Alec, understanding what the stromcloud meant, started right away down the stair case. People were shoving him and each other; none of them wanted to die. He shoved once or twice, but didn't want to hurt anyone.
It was funny, these people were trying to hurt others to get away and yet Alec didn't. Why did he join this thing in the first place? It seemed very dangerous and sort of had an odd feeling about it. But Alec pushed that thought to the back of his mind, just like he pushed a boy behind him while going down the stair case.
There were zero casualties so far, but Velon and Serius were still waiting outside the gap, presumably waiting for everyone else to enter. Of course, Serius was one of his favorite lieutenants back during the war; he'd know that Onis wouldn't strike him and Velon down without very good reason.
"Good to fight alongside you again, Serius, old chum," Onis said pleasantly. "Sorry I have a sense of humor now; like I said, I've gone soft. It helps my mage is a pansy, but you'd be surprised how well this stuff works."
<<>>
Most messengers to Cruz Obscura wouldn't be nearly so brave as this one. Most would approach cautiously from the shadows, careful to lace their voice with as much servile obsequiousness as possible before stepping forth to bow before their lord and, letting practice overcome fear as only a soldier could, recite their message before scurrying away as quickly as possible.
This one, though, approached with total confidence, striding forth confidently, but humbly, to approach a superior less than likely to murder him. A superior, for sure — his chin was lower than ordinary, like a dog's tail between its legs, and he still dropped to one knee before addressing the general — but not one that would slit his throat for any error.
The reason became obvious after seeing the large white thunderbolt drawn across his black armor: He was Genner's personal servant, and Genner would avenge his death should Cruz let his temper get the better of him.
He recited his message, careful to keep his head low. "Sir, the mercenaries are being introduced. Milord Sitiens invites you to meet them at the entryway."
OoC: Can you believe how little actually happened in that post?
ooc:Hilarious almost, and the way you wrote it made it seem like you actually thought I would kill him unless you warned me.
Cruz was awaiting the messenger, he knew his Lord would want him to arrive in a timely manner for their new, "recruits"
"So, Lord Genner wants me there now, much quicker then I anticipated, but if they're here, then I may as well get my act together" he stood up and looked at the guard, he was unlike others, and he obviously was holding back any feelings of fear, if he had any at all. "Lead the way, Umbra will follow as well."
~*sigh* and here I was gonna sneak up on the guy......fine, lets go."~
