2012, your views.

This is a simple discussion on the year 2012. Some people believe that on December 21, 2012, something catastrophic will occur. Some people believe that it is just stupid paranoia. I personally think that there is a lot of evidence to go back it up but I still don't think it will end humanity. I believe this is similar to Y2K. I don't believe that humanity will end on December 21, 2012. What are your thoughts?

No spamming, flaming or trolling. This is a discussion.

"OMIGOD THE WORLD WILL END IN2012 THIS IS ALMOST AS BAD AS THAT TIME A BEE WAS BUZZING AROUND ME I WAS SO SCARED LOLOL"

That type of person, the one who over-funking-reacts to this bullshit, needs to be shot in the head.

Anyway, violent thoughts aside, the world's not gonna end in 2012. I mean, the world was meant to end 12 years ago, for funk's sake.

Lots of evidence?

I didn't know that speculation counted as evidence.

It's obvious Velociraptors are going to take over the world. I mean, what other explanation can there be?

Well since specualtion now = evidence... it makes perfect sense!

The light reflected from Europa is going to strike all that oil in the gulf and reverse it's existence until it reforms into Velociraptors (and other various dinos).

I'll brb. Gotta prepare for the end of the world.

Apparently the big Aztec stone calendar ran out of space = End of the word?

On a more serious note, those who live every day like it was their last have nothing to worry about.

I love when people make a thread about 2012 and all you see are stupid comments borrowed from the media. No one ever said that 2012 is going to be the end of humanity or the end of the world, get your predictions right please.=/ (not just about you, everyone in this topic)

The true prediction is that 2012 will mark a New Age, the astrological age of the Aquarius, which will be the summit of the latest catastrophes. That New Age is characterized by humans gaining their relationship back to the environment, humans loving each other, humans hugging trees and everyone turning at least vegetarian or vegan. Is supposed to be the next step of humanity. If you still believe how the news twisted this thing around into something "end of the world" like then just look up "New Age". Is one of the biggest religious movements in the orld right now btw, many people are turning vegetarian/vegan to prepare for it.

And why 2012, only because it's a special date and many religious predictions run on that date. Starting with the Mayans and also Christianity has a few predictions based on it.

That said I don't believe into the New Age of the Aquarius.:) I think most of it is good intentions but wishful thinking.

Yup' date=' its this thread again. Aztecs rulez!!!

...You mean the Mayans I hope.

It's funny because it does have scientifical reasons for it.

In 2012, this giant solar flare comes up that would be stronger than many of the ones before. If the destroyed enviroment of earth lets the solar flare inside,

1. Weird lights flash in the sky

2. All flying equipment and radar go mad, causing planes to crash

3. Cellphones stop working

4. People walking outside suddenly faint and/or die due to the force

but it's not going to result in the increase of vegetarians.

Also, the chances of this happening is like 1%. Yeah, but it isn't 0%.
