My first Photo Manip.

Before any of you accuse of ripping, Yes, I know this is an EDITED PHOTO that I used. And, so that I can prove I did editing, upon request, I'll release the .PSD

Original Photo (Fune/Funerium from DA):

Okay, this is my first, so I think it's okay.

I added the stars, darkened the focal and removed the clouds from him, blurred the BG for depth, burned some of the BG and dodged the top-left to add a more appropriate Light source, seeing as how his was a bit off in the BG he used for his edit. I also erased a bit of the focal, which I think looks kinda cool IMO, but I could be wrong.

the first isn't mine' date=' that's what I'm trying to say.

White spots are stars.

Then this isn't a manipulation. A manipulation is taking multiple images and using them together to create the final product. This is some brushwork and added depth to an image. BTW, you do have credit for that image right?

He allows use of them. He has certain rules.

And, photo manip is included in this. It's a photo manipulation, which I did.

And, technically, the stars ARE an image.

His rules regarding what you said:

The rules on using the material we provide:

1. You don´t need to ask beforehand when you´re using any of our material.

2. Credit us properly in the description of your piece. Deviantlink or iconlink, it doesn´t matter how, as long as people know what part of your work came from us, and they can check us out via the link you (MUST) provide.

Ok, so you corrected me. That doesn't help your image.... *giggles*

Just practice a tad more on your photomanips, and make them more drastic.

for fun. And, kinda. I rendered it mostly to add the effects. Like I said, I was just kinda playing a round with PS, seeing what I could do with this.

Mah hommie: Two light sources. Or maybe thats just me.

Although either way i would suggest decreasing the lighting on the right shoulder area, that's where the second light source seems to be coming from, or you could spread the lighting to other areas of the tag so that the "second light source" wouldn't feel so out of place.

Lightest Blue is your Light Source.

Darkest Blue is where you should pull your Light Source into, if only for highlights.

Second Darkest Blue is where you should do a soft blur/light to define edges and complete the feeling.

Orange is where I believe you should breathe life into it with some kind of smoke effect.

And Red is where you need to remove that as a light source.

And remember, try to do ANY fixes with a soft brush lol. Looks far better >_<". Or if you do use a pen tool, when it connects feather it by 5-7px.

Ooh and for the BG? Get the original and blur it once, set it between 48-73 Opac on Normal and see what you prefer but dont keep it too heavy.
