Welcome to my card contest. All rules will be posted below, as well as what card you should make for this round.

 

 

We are currently starting the FINAL ROUND.

 

 

[spoiler=Rules]

 

The rules are easy to follow and are simple. They are as follows:

 

1) All YCM rules apply.

 

2) Only judges may rate cards. Anyone else who does will be disqualified from this contest.

 

3) This contest is a knock-out tournament.

 

 

 

 

[spoiler=How This Contest Works]

 

It works simple like this. For Round 1, each Contestant posts cards for the Judges to rate. All 3 Judges will rate the Contestant's cards and I will make an average of the 3 ratings using a calculator (rounded to the nearest hundredth). The lowest 3 averages will have those Contestants disqualified. It'll be the same for Round 2. In Round 3, however, Each remaining Contestant will post their cards and have them rated, same as before. They will receive rewards (from highest to lowest average). That will end the contest!

1st Place: 2 Reps (depending on which they collect), 50 points.

 

2nd Place: 1 Rep (depending on which they collect), 25 points.

Since 4 people were either banned or eliminated due to no entries, then we didn't even need to have results! If anybody would like to find out their average, this is a mathimatical formula to tell them their average:

 

 

Add all of the total ratings together and then divide them by how many ratings there were.

 

 

Example: Total Rating #1 + Total Rating #2 + Total Rating #3 / 3 = Final Average

Description:

This ancient thunder deity became sealed by a dark force thousands of years ago. Nonetheless, even in his sealed state, he still demonstrates immeasurable destructive power to all that oppose him. However, he still longs for the day on which his savior will unseal him from his prison, unlocking his indomitable power. Whosoever unseals this great force will become its one and ultimate master.

I have rated all of the Round 1 cards so far, and here are my ratings:

 

FriendlyHost's Card: Shimazu of the Forbidden City

 

Originality: 2/2

Spelling/OCG: 3/3

Picture: 1.5/2

Minor Details (Set name/number, Code, date/creator): 1/1

OP'edness/Effect: 0.5/2

 

Total: 8.0/10.

 

FINAL NOTES: The ATK and DEF of the card are OP'ed. Just look at Drk Magician. He's a level 7 (requiring 2 tributes), yet his ATK/DEF average is much less than Shimazu's.

Unforgiven Soul's card: Black Bird of Souls

Spelling/OCG: 1.5/3

Picture: 1.5/2

Minor Details (Set name/number, Code, date/creator): 0/1

OP'edness/Effect: 2/2

 

Total: 7.0/10.

 

FINAL NOTES: It's pretty original, but your OCG is a bit off. You need to improve your grammar and add a bit more flavour text. Also, in the Set name/number, you should make it look like a real card. Finally, I'd say it's even a bit UP'ed.

Dchi's card: Psychic Mantis

FINAL NOTES: I love the card. You seem to be a professional card maker. The only thing wrong with it is its ATK. I see that its DEF is 0, but look at Panther Warrior. He needs to tribute 1 monster each time it attacks.

FINAL NOTES: I love this card as well. The only thing with it is originality. First of all, we have many Dragon-type cards in YCM, most of which are Elemental Dragons. Next, it sounds like another "Gearfried" saga happening all over again. That about wraps up the current card ratings.

Friendly Host - Shimazu of the Forbidden City

FINAL NOTES: The ATK is balanced for a LV6 but not in combination with the 2500 DEF. I like the picture as it fits the card well.

FINAL NOTES: The OCG is a bit mistaken but readable. To call the Circulation "DUEL-DUEL" wasn't a good idea, I think... Also the picture is quite fuzzy and the image doesn't really go along with the LIGHT-Attribute.

FINAL NOTES: Good work ;-) As Trystan allready said, it is kinda risky to use a LV4 with 2000ATK and no drawback. Although there is a card like this in TGC, it is still a bit OPed - in my opinion.

FINAL NOTES: A typical Defender - Although the render is pretty nice, the missing background ruined everything. Also you didn't think much about the minor details: The Creator isn't DeviAntart but you. Set-name and -number? And what's that "Sorry about border"? Apart from that it's okay.

To FriendlyHost: This is a really good card all and all. As said before It is OP for a 6-star, but other than that i found very little wrong with it. I tend to be a stickler for finer details, and you got it, but warrior are admittedly all too common around here. Again it is still a good card.

 

To Unforgiven Soul: Black Bird of Souls....with such a dark name, image and description, why is it a LIGHT monster? I'm just curious, I did not apply that on my grading. Your description could have been better, given if they have no effect, a nice, short and detailed description really adds to the card's appeal. I could have seen such a card be stronger too. The image is awesome though.....I'd consider asking you for it if I could get it.

 

To dchi: Very nice work. I love how futuristic the image looks, and it adds to the overall appeal of the card. I was kinda offset by the lack of defense. Having 2000 ATK comes at its price for DEF, but losing a few ATK points to put up some blocking might be for the best in an actual Duel. The description is a tad long, but otherwise fits the card perfectly. Bravo for having a Psychic-type!

 

To zmuzik: Strong vanilla dragons are nothing new, but yours I must say is something I would love to use. I think Red Eyes and Blue Eyes are a bit overhyped as dragons (thanks to the anime) so yours feels rather refreshing. You put quite a lot of detail to his description (maybe a bit too much) but otherwise your detail is what got ya a high score from me. To be perfectly honest, I could also see this card with an effect or perhaps a few more ATK and DEF points.

 

To alien masta: A strong-DEF zombie is always a good thing, as many rarely have good defense, and the stats are balanced for a 4-star, but the description and the lack of detail to the card and the background of the image had me turning away. Don't get me wrong, the image befits the card well, but the card as a whole is not very eye-catching, which to me takes from its realism.

 

To stonecphillips: If you read any of the other description here, you'll see how much a good image and card detail play into my scores. I did not see quite as much effort for realism with the card as with a few others who entered though the attempt is well noted. The image could have been clearer, given good images are hard to find though,I did not want to take the whole image score away. Other than that, the stats are very nice, as a nice strong Zombie is always fun to sick on an opponent.

 

To MMMKJM: I have a standard for good stat-balancing, that usually falls around 1500 ATK and 1000 DEF for a 4-star. You just missed that mark.....a good DEF is never a bad thing. I can understand though, as the stats do befit the card by name and description. The image looks a bit stretched, too, and I have a keen eye for good pics. Still, this is not a bad card, but as I said to zmuzik, would be best with an effect.

FINAL NOTES: It didn't seem like you put much effort into this card. I like the overall idea, but what Spikeball said. What's wrong with the border? It seems fine. But in the picture, there is no background. So I gave you a 0.5/2. I gave you a 0/1 in the minor details section because Where you should put the circulation, it says "Sorry about border" instead. Also, there is no

Set name or number. Finally, in the creator, it says "DeviantArt"... I don't mind if you put in our name, but somebody else's? Really.

FINAL NOTES: The card idea is okay, but I've seen many Zombie Warrior cards. I see nothing wrong with your spelling. I don't like the picture, though, for your card at least. It says "Zombie Guardian" yet is looks like it'll fit into a card I made: "Skull Berserker". You really bombed in the minor details, though. Yet not as bad as Alien masta (no offense to either of you). Because you Gould leave the circulation blank, unless it's either a 1st Edition or Limited Edition card. Also, you do have a Set number, but numbers for a Set name? I also don't think any pack has 456 cards in it. Finally, again, it's a guardian. It should have an even amount of ATK:DEF ratio, or close to. Otherwise, it looks good.

SIDE NOTE @ PARANOiA: Good. Round 1 will be over once we've filled up the Contestant slots and rated every card.

FINAL NOTES: The crd is pretty original. It's not OP'ed either. One thing though is that, as said before, there are usually not over 200 or so cards per pack. So I think 980 cards in a pack is a bit off, don't you think? Also, the picture is stretched, and for a new recruit, he must've been a rich one. Finally, I have one more thin to say: You do need a bit more flavour text. Good job!

The soldier in the pic doesn't match the term "new recruit" since he looks like a general or something higher.
