Sleepy Dust - A Deck Building Guide to Fairies.

Well, lately I've discovered that Fairies can be so well run that they can actually best things such as BWs and Infernities.

In this guide, I will show you different Decktypes for Fairies, such as Voltanis Fairies, Darklords, Synthetic Angels and Counter Fairies.

But to cut it down, I'll show you Voltanis Fairies and Darklords, with advice about Counter Fairies.
Darklords - The Basics]

Darklords are a series of DARK Fairy-Type monsters whose effects activate mainly from being Special Summoned. So far in such sites as Yugiohnetwork, Darklord Desire has not been seen in its TCG, and is not up, so for now we will leave it out.

The most prefferable of the Darklords are Darklord Superbia, and Darklord Asmodeus. Mainly because they are Trade-In targets, Allure of Darkness targets, and so on.

Also, Darklord Zerato is listed as a Darklord, although he, truthfully is not involved in these series of monsters, although being an amazing Generic for this Deck.
Darklord Superbia]

"When this card is Special Summoned from the Graveyard, you can Special Summon 1 Fairy-Type monster from your Graveyard, except "Darklord Superbia""

---------

A nice card to have in this Deck, but the fact that it takes time and quality setup ruins it overall. It takes AT LEAST two cards for this cards full effect to come into action. Foolish Burial doesn't look to good now, does it.
400px-DarklordAsmodeusYCSW-EN-SR-LE.jpg

"This card cannot be Special Summoned from the Deck or Graveyard. Once per turn, you can send 1 Fairy-Type monster from your Deck to the Graveyard. When this card you control is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, Special Summon 1 "Asmo Token" (Fairy-Type/DARK/Level 5/ATK 1800/DEF 1300) and 1 "Deus Token" (Fairy-Type/DARK/Level 3/ATK 1200/DEF 1200). An "Asmo Token" cannot be destroyed by card effects. A "Deus Token" cannot be destroyed by battle."

-----

A very nice card. Take note that it's final "goat" effect doesn't mean he has to be Special Summoned for it to take place. He can be Special Summoned from the hand, or the RFP pile, but most notably the hand. Such things as Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen, and Celestial Transformation make this card a good choice to have.

Now that that's the basic Darklord Elements of the Deck, lets get started.
Monsters:

Athena - An amazing card, but at Level 7 can become cloggy, seeing as its not a viable target for Trade-In, and is not easy to Normal Summon like a Level 6. Run 1-2. Most easily @1.

Dimensional Alchemist - Drawing fuel from the RFP pile, also good from getting to whats "below" your Deck, as long as being an easy-to-summon, quick beatstick to have out. Run 2.

Hecatrice - An easy Level 4 monster to have, as well as being the best searcher you can bargain for. Most of the time an easy Level 8 from Valhalla. Run 3.

Archlord Kristya - One of the more fun cards. It has 4 main ways of summoning itself here: Valhalla, Tribute, Celestial Transformation and Self Summon. Sometimes clogs the element of Special Summoning engines for the Deck, but use defensively to stand ground. Run 2.

Darklord Zerato - AMAZING card. It can come onto the field in the click of fingers in so many ways. He's also a Trade-In target, and whenever he comes to the field an OTK soon follows. Run 3.

Tethys - The main Draw Engine for this Deck. One of the best cards in this Deck if pulled off properly. Trade-In and Reckless Greed are this cards main feed, and when it happens you draw about 18 cards in one turn. A quick-summon Level 6 which I love undeniably. Run 4 3.

Darklord Superbia - Hard to pull off, mostly. And when used in this kind of Deck its mainly only "two to the field" presence. Also less food for Chaos Sorc. Many downsides. Run 1.

Darklord Asmodeus - Along with a great name, beside Superbia, his effect is brilliant. The tokens provide you with Tribute food, and also burn and stronger field presence with Athena. Run 2.

Dark Armed Dragon - Listen to your father. With 6 targets, when you get him he should be easy to pull off. Due to the fact of it being limited, run 1.

Chaos Sorcerer - Just so easy to pull off, and stands some firm ground. Yet again, due to the fact of being limited, run 1.

Light and Darkness Dragon - Strong defense, and can trample with the Grave control. However with no way of Special Summoning, it goes to 1.

Sangan - This little guy again. If you're running low on Valhalla, he grabs a Hecatrice. If you feel like complex strategies, grabs you an Alchemist. Run 1.

Spells:

Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen - Quite easily one of the main cards of the Deck. After a Tethys onslaught of cards, no matter what they throw at you you should receive massive field presence. With 3 searchers going for it, and due to the fact it can Special Summon ANY of the Fairies like that. *clicks fingers* It is so easily a 3.

Pot of Avarice - This thing is on steroids. Fattens the Deck with the nessescary cards you need, and also gives you an +1, which with Tethys can turn it into so many additions that its scary. At the end of the turn you might have something along the lines of an +10? Run 2.

Allure of Darkness - Basic explanation is basic. More Draw Power and fun with Alchemist. Run 1.

Trade-In - AMAZING CARD IS AMAZING. More Draw Power, more Grave Filling, less Dead Draws, moar fun, and run at 3.

Heavy Storm - Backrow killer. Generic staple. Run at 1.

Celestial Transformation - Oooohhh, how I love this card. Special Summons Supreme Ass on Steroids. Seriously - as a Quick-Play it can be Game Breaking, saving your hind, or to something simple as filling the Grave and gaining advantage from it. *cough* Asmodeus. *cough* Run 2.

MST - Staple Destruction. Run 1.

Traps:

Reckless Greed - Tethys does a backflip and litterally goes on steroids for this card. One card turns into like, 18 draws, and, you get the point. Run 3 for teh lulz.

Mirror Force - Staple. Run 1.

Solemn Judgment - Staple. Only use when something Game Breaking will happen. Or if you just know you lose anyway. Run 1.

So, the completed Decklist would look something like:

20

1 Athena

1 LaDD

1 Sangan

1 DAD

1 Chaos Sorcerer

1 Darklord Superbia

2 Dimensional Alchemist

2 Archlord Kristya

3 Tethys, Goddess of Light

15

1 MST

1 Giant Trunade

2 Pot of Avarice

2 Celestial Transformation

3 Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen

3 Trade-In

6

3 Reckless Greed

1 Mirror Force

1 Solemn Judgment

Cool guide actually!! You may deserve a rep ^^

But one more thing' date=' did you test 2 Hecatrices over 3, 2 is actually fine for me.

[/quote']

3 is good seeing as its also easy to revive and summon, along as being a Searcher when you need it.

2 hecatrice works better.

Besides the fact that l run 2 orange heralds (minus the tethys and a hecatrice)' date=' this is the EXACT replica of my own deck recipe. lt's crazy because i'm looking at it right now o.0

[/quote']

orly?

I beg to differ.

@Asmodeus mentioning:

Forgot him.

He's @2.
