Bind Summoning:

(Note this is an older prototype of a Binding Monster with one severe error)

"Bushido Gearkid" + 3 monsters bound to "Bushido Gearkid". While this card is face-up on the field' date=' once per turn, you can increase this card's ATK by 800 for each monster used to bind summon this monster until the end of the turn.[/quote']

First things first, what's Bind Summoning?

Bind Summoning is a mechanic I am currently developing. It involves binding up to five monsters together, (Somewhat similar to Union monsters, however rather different) however, the monsters' attack points are not combined. They remain the same.

What? So what's the benefit of Binding Monsters!?

The benefit comes from something slightly different. In my current plan, Bound monsters are not merely combined, rather, they are bound in whatever order of succession the player chooses. For example:

On your field there are three face-up monsters, "Kuriboh", "Watapon", and "Mokey-Mokey" on your side of the field. You declare a Binding. (No specific Subtype of monster is neccessary for binding. Even a Synchro, Ritual, etc monster can bind with another monster.)

At this point, you decide the Order of Succession/Order of Combat. In a Bound Group there are two monster designations. The Leading Monster is the only monster who actually does battle, or uses effects. As a result, the Leading Monster is the only monster in a Bound Group who can be destroyed. Once it is destroyed, the Support Monster directly after it in succession becomes the new Leading Monster.

A Support Monster is any other monster in a Bound Group besides the Leading Monster. Support Monsters are not able to be selected as an attack target, but in exchange, Support Monsters cannot select other monsters as attack, or effect targets either.

Now, to continue the scenario, you choose to have "Mokey-Mokey" lead, "Watapon" go next in succession, and "Kuriboh" go last. Therefore you place "Kuriboh" in your nearest available Monster Card Zone, Place "Watapon" above him (So the Kuriboh's name is still available), and repeat for "Mokey-Mokey". If done correctly, your Leading Monster ("Mokey-Mokey" in this case) should be on top of your stack, and the names of all three monsters should be visible.

The Order of Succession can be changed once per turn, each subsequent turn.

So that's it?

No. It isn't. The levels of the monsters are combined, (capping at 12 stars total, of course) leading to simpler Synchro, or Ritual Summoning.

Example. The monsters above are still bound. Their levels (going by memory here, correct me if I'm wrong) are 1, 1 and 2. Therefore, the level of the group is 4. This level will remain even when one or more monsters in the group have been destroyed. You can use any monsters that are left in the group as Synchro/Ritual/Tribute material. However, in this case the whole Bound Group gets sent to the Graveyard. Along with these are Bind Summons. In a Bind Summon, the total amount of bound monsters is equal to the level of Bind Monster you can Bind Summon. A good example is this:

You Bind "Bushido Gearkid", "Weaponized Gearkid", and "Armored Gearkid". The total amount of Bound Monsters is three. Therefore, you can tribute all three to Bind Summon one level 3 Bind Monster. (Like the Level 3 "Kabuto-Bushi") And to make it even more complicated, you can Bind Bind Monsters with other monsters to Bind Summon other Bind Monsters, or to increase said monster's level. Just ignore that part though.

I know this is very complicated, so if you think of a way to simplify this, let me know.
