Raylen
Yeah. I'm a novel writer, and I get various comments from my editors How well do you take criticism? Here's some quotes from my various editors, and their random comments. [spoiler=quotes]Find another word for 'difficult'. Twice in two sentences, especially in small, broken paragraphs, sounds excessive. "... ninja-like speed." So, ninjas don't make for good analogies. Personally, I find the term unprofessional, and doesn't add realistic imagery. I HIGHLY suggest scrapping it and finding something different. Wtf's wrong with ninjas? I have to say, the name Ilya Nyshzyk is a little difficult on the mind's mouth. Maybe replace it with something easier to pronounce? Just a thought, feel free to ignore. "... Zei thought." Not necessary. We know he's thinking to himself, so it's just redundancy. I have questions. is that guy really god, or what? who is that guy? who is narrating the story? lolwut? Okay, so I lied. This just struck me as completely odd. It's a thriller, which should have an extremely fast pace. Yet she continues to say: There were so many characters being intorduced at such a fast pace, it was hard to keep up. Maybe define the characters a little more, so it's easier to tell who's speaking or acting. and... Throughout the whole chapter, I think that you could use a bit more detail, just to give a clearer picture for readers and enable them to picture the story as it plays out before them. Otherwise, the story is interesting and fast paced. Things got a little confusing at points, but with some simple rereading and revision, I'm sure everything can be cleared up. Isn't cleaning up her own job? She's an editor right?
Dark
As an editor, he/she is only supposed to find grammatical errors, storyline faults, logical fallacies, et cetera, or at least that is what I presume. You are supposed to write the story yourself, which is why "clearing it up" is your job, not hers. I take criticism fairly well, unless it's coming from an idiot who doesn't know what he/she is talking about. Then I get annoyed, but I never get angry for being criticized. If I am getting annoyed, I can always ignore it. :D
