Welcome, This might be my last time posting a article... well kinda sorta. Its not really mine until the end, (when i throw my input in). & On that note, a lot of us has been waiting on the iPhone 4G for a minute now. (Except for Seto, he said he wasnt that big on Apple Products. lol) Anywho, well maybe some of us dont have it yet, (I know i dont) but wondering what the iPhone brings to the game. Well I'll let Geek-O-System tell you the Pro's & Cons.. & At the end of the day, I'll throw my little two cents in.

You can thank Geek-o-System for the good information of the iphones capabilities and downfalls. =). I go there every once in a while to check out how the hot new products fair amount the playing field. And also to copy/paste/bring some info to all you Tech heads on KC who go out & buy the products. So why don't we get started?

First off Lets See What Geek-o-System says about the Pro's of the iPhone 4G.

Pros: By Geek-O-System

* Multitasking – The big one, and what users have been clamouring for since the beginning, Apple has devised a way to allow programs to run as background processes in a way that doesn’t harm the CPU and battery. Really, their solution comes just short of true multitasking, allowing key processes for certain apps to run in the background while resources can be directed to apps in the foreground. So now you can finally run Pandora while checking your mail, or take calls from Skype while browsing while your phone’s performance won’t take a hit. Other implementations include backgrounded location for GPS and social media programs, Push notifications, and local notifications.

* Folders – A common niggling complaint among iPhone and iPod Touch users is that their devices just don’t have a great way to organize apps on the homescreen. In iPhone OS 4.0, Apple has created Folders as a way to organize apps that correspond to their respective App Store categories, or whatever the user wants them to be. Just drag an icon and hover it over another to make a folder on the fly.

* Wallpapers - Took them long enough.

* Enhanced Mail – In OS 4.0’s Mail app, you’ll now have a unified inbox that can handle multiple accounts, as well as threaded messages and attachments for third-party apps. Combined with multitasking, you can open an attachment in Mail that opens another app in what will hopefully be a seamless experience. Very cool.

* Enterprise – Deploying multiple iPhones over a business network is made easier and with security as a focus. Also, company-developed apps can be downloaded right from the jump, bypassing the App Store.

Juiceman's Outlook:

The only thing that really stands out to me is the fact that Apple really hit it on the head with the Multitasking. I Mean, finally! We can finally be able to do multiple things at a time. For users who like to check their mail, while listening to music, while surfing the web, while trying to look for that perfect APP, you can do it now, w/o having to close close close.

The mail feature is really smart too. Nothing new there, but still, its good to know things are finnally sorted out.

Cons : By Geek-O-System

Cons:

* Support – OS 4.0 will be available in all it’s proposed glory for the iPhone 3GS and 3rd Generation iPod Touches. 3G and 2nd gen models of the respective devices will only have “many” features, with multitasking conspicuously absent from them. Jobs explained that the decision was a non-issue as older models simply don’t support these new features, but was vague as to what exactly might be missing. And if you’re an iPhone 2G or 1st gen iPod Touch user, you’re pretty much out of luck. This also begs the question of how OS 3.2 will be handled after this release. So, if you can’t pony up the dough for the new tech, you may have to keep on jailbreaking keep on dutifully abiding by Apple’s TOS.

* Unsigned Apps – During the Q&A session after the event, one audience member asked if users can expect a future app store that didn’t hinge on Apple’s approval, citing Android and WebOS’s offerings. Jobs’ response was a flat and unsurprising no. Apple’s control over the App Store hinges on their not wanting p o r n apps that might be downloaded by children, although it should be noted Mobile Safari already accesses plenty of p o r n sites optimized for the iPhone. Not a blemish on the OS itself, but yet more fuel to the App Store management fire.

* No Flash. Period. – Apple has made it clear that it will not budge on the HTML5 vs. Flash debate. How this will turn out is anyone’s guess, but what can be considered a con now might be a pro in coming years as sites slowly embrace the new standard.

Juiceman's Outlook:

For anybody who has an older version of the iPhone..... Like Geek-o-System suggest..... UR OUTTA LUCK. Which indeed is a shame. I would have thought that they would be atleast very very compatible.. But i guess not. Disappointing. But on the other side of that, i think they would be using the iPhone 4G as a cornerstone for products in the future.

Now, im two sided on the Unsigned Apps deal. I have to say that, there are some apps that are underground, but are very very useful. & not having them can be sort of a slight slide downhill. But then again, i couldnt agree more about the porn issue. I wouldnt want children (who of course will want the iPhone 4G at one point) downloading p o r n. Its not cool on any level. But you choose where you stand on that.

Other Features:

iBook (iBookstore of course)

Game Center (With Achievements & Ranks.. Like Xbox Live)

ThaJuiceman's Verdict: 3.8 Stars

Well, hard to say, but im actually impressed with the iPhone 4G. I know the Video Chat isnt all what its cracked up to be because i heard thru the wire already, but i think the multi-tasking part really caught attention and will out-man most of the phones that come out in the future. Im pretty sure apply will go back in the lab & turn its cons inside out, because most of the time they do, and I believe they do that just to keep you on edge about future products. But other than that, my verdict is 3.8 Stars. Not perfect, but somewhat worth it.

You know, reviewing recent technology is actually a good idea, but it's only any good if it's really your review - we can google anyone else's insight, so it's only a real contribution if your post is original. That said, and seeing as people aren't being shy about voicing their opinions on this, I think it's best if I lock it.

If you wanna try again, I actually find the idea interesting, but make it your own review instead of copy-pasting and simply adding a footnote.
